AMERICAblog: 'John McCain would rather lose his honor than lose an election.'

  • dad · 1 year ago
he's not the hero he was 35 years ago.
he's not the man he was 8 years ago.
    he's not anything.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Not the man I used to be
There's a shadow hangin over me
(what's the rest of the line?....don't remember...)
  • dad · 1 year ago
be a republican. make something up.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
I'm mellowed out, dad; I was depending on you.
I don't think McCain or Obama could successfully run for dogcatcher in my hometown...
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
The election is McCains to lose right now. Obama's shot his wad and is mumbling (er,ah,uh..) on the hustings. He's trying to go to the center, but johnnymack and barracuda already have it staked out. But, 7 weeks in politics is an eternity.....

someone had 2 too many koolaids at cocktail hour.
  • SouthernYankee · 1 year ago
Whoa, finally getting to cook that red meat. Right on target. Just give us the facts Obama. Good job. Some ad now on issues.
  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
I'm an Arizona resident. There was a time when I had great respect for John McCain.

    Those times are gone forever.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
not in AZ here....but yes...I once thought that McCain was at the very least a decent man.
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
    Ouch!
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
It is hard to understand why McCain decided to take this low road. He has lied so boldly, and so many times, it is now difficult to keep track of the ads that come out with mostly lies. This is really beneath him. Is he doing this because he has nothing else to run on, but Bush's gigantic failure, and policies that seem to be the downfall of this country? So what can he do, but lie about Obama, keep saying POW at every turn, and make his unqualified side kick look like poor orphan Annie, being attacked. Is that all he has to run on?

He has lost all respect, dignity and any shred of honor he might have had.
Finally we can see the real McCoy. He does not look pretty.
The lust for power can make a man do things, he once despised.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
Good grief! He's becoming a liberal democrat?
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Ummmm, what you are seeing IS the real McCain. The media is just not able to keep his facade in place, too many people watching and listening and blowing his cover.

He got away with a whole bunch of shit in his early life by virtue of who his father and grandfather were. He was a slacker in the Naval academy... he even brags about being 894th in his class of 899... he crashed 5 planes as a pilot ... dumped his 1st wife and kids when he got back from his "enhanced interrogations" (since he voted to allow those same techniques to be used to day, he can no longer claim he was tortured) when he saw that she was crippled and disfigured from a horrendous car crash that she barely survived so he could marry his new girlfriend Cindy ... blocked release of documents relating to POW/MIA status .... was involved in the Keating / Lincoln Savings & Loan scandal in the 80's ... helped cover up and derail a DEA investigation into Cindy's drug "problem" (she was stealing drugs and prescription forms and forging them from her "charity" for kids overseas) ... has continually voted against: veterans & women and has enabled Bush these last 8 years.....

So what part of that do you find honorable and mavericky?
  • unrepentant_expat · 1 year ago
Just sorry I wasn't in Hanoi with Jane Fonda to shoot his privileged ass out of the air!
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Oh and about the planes he crashed... one of them resulted in the deaths of over 100 sailors. and the final one was the one that earned him his POW status that he hides behind.
  • lucky hussein · 1 year ago
fact check sez 4 planes and no 'wet-start' that caused Forrestal fire that killed sailors http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/did_mccai...

and his father was a well respected admiral at the time... do you really think the "official record" tells the whole story? The official record is always the "best face" story that can be officially endorsed. You should have learned this in school with how "history" is treated in the history books... lots of details left out that are inconvenient, embarrassing. Get beyond the "accepted history" and a little different story emerges...

Earlier today I said the 1982 ad with disco ball etc...was weak....
    Well....
    THIS WASN'T WEAK !
    Whew!

This could be the Main ad......and then subsequent ads would feed of the points brought out in this powerful ad.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago

Obama needs to hammer McCain hard from now until November 4. This is war. We have to win this time.
  • unrepentant_expat · 1 year ago
    If Obama had a hmmer
    He'd hammer in the morning
    He'd hammer in the evening
    All over this land
    He'd hammer out danger
    He'd hammer out a warning
He'd hammer out love between our brothers and our sisters
    All over this land

In the 80s and 90s, Pat Robertson was calling his “flock” to permeate public service. Start with the PTAs, move up to city council, move onto state representatives and up into federal. He wanted all federal departments filled with his followers. Like the cockroaches they are, they have spread with the help of GW. Just look at our justice department – illeducated, dumbasses making decisions based on some ideal of a future theocracy. Palin comes out of this genre.
My hope is the change Obama brings to the White House is a large can of Raid.
I remember when McCain was against the stranglehold of the religious right on the Republican Party. He really has sold his soul to the devil..
  • grandma · 1 year ago
yes he has...sold his soul to the devil....

and Satan is the Father of Lies........so say the evangelicals.
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
Lying is good, teen pregnancy is good, firing people for personal retaliation is good when it comes from one of their own. Hypocrites...

McShame's West Point class ring bears the motto "Duty Honor Country". He has failed to live up to that code. He has NOT changed, he has just lost his ability to hide his true nature. Coward, traitor, criminal, racist, sexist, liar, in short a Bush Clone.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
I'm pretty sure he went to Annapolis, not West Point.

(But a lot of people say West Point....makes me think Repubs are spreading it around to make him sound like a tactical genius or something.)
  • mf_roe · 1 year ago
I stand corrected the motto is then "Honor Courage Commitment"
    He still fails
  • venicedog · 1 year ago
    Choppy but brutal.

Don't forget to rate these excellent videos on YouTube and add them to Favorites and comment on them. It pushes up their visibility.

new ad targeting his lobyist problem.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
They should go to this group:

    http://www.truthandhope.org/

They've been picking up homemade anti-McCain videos and refining them into TV commercials.
  • erykah · 1 year ago
Yes indeed. This is probaby one of the best ads yet. I do hope it gets a lot of play. Not a bad deal.
  • grueningmorse · 1 year ago
The "Straight Talk Express" has become the "Doublespeak Express."
  • cmpnwtr · 1 year ago
Here's the track Obama needs to be on-hitting McCain on his supposed strength
    http://www.washingtonindependent.com/5714/mccai...

Economic patriotism is something everyone understands. Ask the workers at Boeing or DHL that McCain has screwed over.
  • lucky hussein · 1 year ago
    WOW.. Run this ad now..
whatever the republican response to the commercial, the answer is:
bush and his party lied the country into a war. period.
  • chasemonster · 1 year ago
This video, and more like it, will win the election for Obama.
I had forgotten how pathetic McCain is.
I hope all the hoopla over hooter-mom will die down very soon so we can focus exclusively on how disgusting McCain really is.
  • Reasonable · 1 year ago
This should go on tv. It needs to be thinned out a bit, there is a lot in there going by really fast. But it is a great ad and the last line is fabulous. Barack, are you listening?
