What kind of a MAN? Wrong question...what kind of a monster would be more appropriate. We already know, but don't expect the MSM to push this.
If Michelle is fair game, so is Cindy. And Michelle will come out looking far, far better.

As a woman who has (very) briefly attempted to date Republicans, it seems overt women basing is a common demoninator, that and bashing of anyone they feel won't fight back. I am thoroughly convinced this trait comes from child abuse or excessive bullying in their younger years. They seem genuinely threatened by anyone who may get close enough to expose them for the fraud they are. My Mom always told me a real man doesn't have to "sell" his "manhood". Whether it's pretending to be John Wayne, clinging to the macho symbol of Rambo with an AK47, keeping the little woman in line, picking on minorities and gays or a complete contempt for the less fortunate, Republican men are screwed up.

There is only one appropriate way to respond to this kind of slur.
1. Put out an announcement that McCain should be a "MAN" and stop beating upon on women.
2. The same announcement should simply continue with: The latest attacks on Obama's wife simply follow a disturbing pattern that not only shows a lack of respect for women but also cowardly acts. The pattern start with McCain dumping his first wife after she was disabled in an accident (so much reward for his standing by her while he was a POW) and more recently calling his wife (who had enough money to finance his political career) a c***. Now Senator McCain wants to pick on an isolated and out of context comment by Barack's wife. PLEASE SENATOR MCCAIN, YOU HAD BEEN AN OFFICER IN THE NAVY - BE AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN and FOR GOD'S SAKE SHOW SOME GUTS INSTEAD OF PICKING ON A WOMAN.

Don't forget that McCain became best friends with Bush after Bush and Rove attacked McCain's wife and his child. McCain did not fight back against Bush and Rove, he decided to become their doormat. McCain does not even value his wife or daughter enough to defend them.

Part of McCains problem is that when he had a choice of protecting his buddies or cooperating with his VC captors he chose to sing like Helen Trauble at the Met.

I suspect McSame has an manly phobia about his short stature. I had seen somewhere that he got very upset when the podium wasn't constructed to make him look taller. . .something like that. Now that doesn't mean people who aren't 6' tall or more all have some kind of issue - but I can see how McCain internalized one through all those years of military ineptness. Maybe he crashed all those planes because someone forgot to put a child booster seat in the cockpit. . . His current wife certainly doesn't appear to be the kind of woman who would consent to any frisky behavior that could potentially loosen the hold hairspray has on her head - besides, most Republicans are uptight about any sexual activity in a marriage - that's why they are always caught doing it somewhere else.

McCain is a short man with a short temper giving short shrift to all of the women in his life. As was mentioned, he wouldn't even defend his wife against attacks from Bush. McCain is lacking a spine. And testicles.

Now that you mention it, I remember him going after a female reporter on his place too--or, I guess it was his wife's plane.
(Also remember a funny C-SPAN show when they were filming him giving a speech in some New Hampshire town and mixing with the audience afterwar and being rude to this woman, who eventually yelled something like "I used to support you!"
It was pretty good.

I am constantly debating conservatives over on my blog (http://eclectablog.efx2blogs.com) and my response to them on this issue lately has basically been "you've convinced me: there's no way I'm going to vote for Michelle Obama, Jeremiah Wright or this Ayers character for president." Tends to either shut them up or at least frustrate the hell out of them.

Aravosis, you and Joe and others trash Hillary Clinton almost hourly, yet have the nerve to berate someone else for alleged criticism of women. Aht arrogance, what elitism.
There's only one reason Obama has defeated Hillary for the nomination. The far left in the Democratic Party decided it was OK to slap around a woman, to lie about her, to distort her statements and positions but boxed in the Clinton campaign so that any strong criticism of Obama's positions and questions about this experience, judgment and character were made to appear racist.
I am not a McCain supporter -- can't vote for anyone who suggests that his nominations to the Supreme Court would fir the mold of Justice Antonin Scalia -- but to be fair, John McCain hasn't attacked Michelle Obama. His campagn hasn't attacked Michelle Obama. Someone in Tennessee did put together something about her statement about when she first had reason to be proud of America but it wasn't the McCain campaign.
Between now and November 4 millions will be spent on ads attacking McCain fairly or unfairly for which the Obama campaign has no responsibility and likely no knowledge. Mr. Aravosis owes it to his readers, many of whom sometimes appear in comments as having no knowledge of what's going on beyond what they read here, to be fair in reporting on the ads. Obama is going to win the election without the need for his surrogates in the Democratic far left to wallow in the mud.

KansasModerate,
Hillary Clinton lost, not because she was a woman, but more because she was a republican and voted for the war to never back off until it was too late. Stew in your candidate's stunning and epic defeat if you must, but moving forward would be more constructive.
Repeat after me, Hillary will not be President.

I'm 63 years old-a retired white woman-and I'm sick and tired of people saying I'm obligated to vote for Clinton... I live in Illinois and I was going to vote for Edwards on supertuesday but since he pulled out before that I voted for Obama and I haven't changed my mind. Any man who calls his wife the c word in public or acts like Newt did with his first wife, doesn't deserve to be President of this country. Heaven help us if the Repugs steal another election.
