    I can't do too much blogging at work--which is why I love podcasts--but if anyone else wants to ask whether this will hurt McCain in Colorado, go for it.

    "In a telephone interview with The Pueblo Chieftain, the presumptive GOP candidate for president said the water sharing agreement reached in 1922 between seven Western states doesn't take into account increases in population and changing water needs."

    As a senator, McCain has long represented a state, Arizona, that would love to steal Colorado's water. But now, he wants our votes. Apparently, nobody bothered to brief the candidate who Paris Hilton called "that wrinkly, white-haired guy" that stealing Colorado's water to benefit Arizona, California and Nevada isn't as popular an idea in Colorado as it is in Arizona, California and Nevada.

    Great -- glad to hear that Diana is talking about these issues just in time for the election. With all the discussion about Obama's and McCain's sit down with Rick Warren, the issues Diana talks about in her book are exactly the kind of issues that are going to make former Hillary supporters think twice before voting for McCain. McCain's record when it comes to birth control, choice, abstinence-only funding .. and a host of other issues are dangerous for not only women, but everyone. The next president is likely to appoint two Supreme Court Justices --- and we want them to side with us -- not the religious right!

    Please ask her about the opposition of the fundamentalist Christians to the HPV vaccine. McCain is pandering to these people, and I'm curious to know how much she sees this opposition among Congressional fundie types and even at the state level and whether it slows anything down on that front. I want this outrage to be publicized as much as is humanly possible.
