Hate to say I told you so, but we're getting to a point where it might be safer keeping your money in your mattress rather than your local bank. Another one bites the dust and of course they keep the bad news out of the news until the market closed.

While JP Morgan has done better than most banks around the country, they have one of the largest derivitives books of any bank. The problem they face as do other banks is that there is no market for what they own. In fact, if it weren't for the recent bail out of Fannie and Freddie, most banks in the US are basically insolvent which is why they needed the US taxpayer to bail them out. This is going to cost trillions when all is said and done and all payed for by middle America.
I wish it were possible to post graphs or other visuals on blogs, but I guess it isn't possible yet. If your interested in getting to the truth, head over to www.financialsense.com. They have a great radio show every Saturday and they call it as it is rather than what most financial outlets do which is continue to put lipstick on a pig.

American companies that move their HQ out of the US should:

    1. No longer allowed to call themselves American companies

    2. Not be allowed to have any special tax breaks, on the federal and state levels

    3. pay the maximum taxes allowable by law

    4. be exempt form any federal or state welfare, such as these bailout 'loans'

    5. must disclose in their advertising that they are no longer an American business

We've been thru systemic bank failure. It was called the "great depression". Anything, including total debasement of the currency is better than that. That's why South American countries just take the bullet and print the money.

JPM needs to be up close and personal with ICE. Goldman Sachs is, it was one of the original investors. And now that Congress is investigating it, it's safer to trade out of London, after all. It's a global market, people!
