A group that opposes same-sex marriage has called for a boycott of McDonald's, saying the fast-food giant has refused "to stay neutral in the cultural war over homosexuality."
The American Family Association (AFA) launched the boycott yesterday because McDonald's joined the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce several months ago and placed an executive on the group's board of directors, in addition to donating to the chamber.

That boycott will go nowhere. No bigot can resist good ol' McDonalds. In fact, neither can I. The AFA is one loser closet case working out of a dumpy little office in a bad part of Tupelo, Mississippi.
Two things the closet queens at the AFA can't resist:
A. Fast food B. Disney World
This boycott will be as effective as when they tried to boycott Mickey Mouse. It will go nowhere. They can't resist gobbling down fast food, or visiting Disney World to satisfy their princess fantasies!

Sheesh, I don't feel like barbequing anything. Just not in the mood. I turned my AC up to 80 degrees like another poster sugested here and I like that. So I'm just going to sit here and drink me some rum and coke and see what you have to say.

get an evaporative portable. Only $150 bucks and it uses water and if real hot a tray of ice cubes. It will cut down on the need for regular A/C. we bought one on Wednesday and I must say i am surprised at how well they work.

When I was a kid, living way out like we did, and I used to hugely resent it, the stars look like that by themselves. Now there's total light pollution.
And I wonder about all these sudden suburbian pioneers planning for Peak Oil. You're going to do a front-yard Victory Garden... To survive, you'll need a mule to plow it up and your neighbors yard too, with that mule, Strap that harness on and till. You know why all those old timers had missing front teeth is because the mule at one time in their life kicked their front teeth out. That's a mule. Get you a football helmet too with that mule.

Seriously. It's totally unexpected with a mule. You're carrying a bail of hay and then, BOOM, leg and end hoof at you. So you always have to carry the bail of hay right up next to the thing so all you get is a muscle leg swipe. Scary when it happens, though.

So I finally taught that kicking mule a lesson. Backed it up to a horizontal iron bar and tapped it;s back leg. It kicked the shit outta that iron bar. Never kicked at me again, though, or nothing else.

Darwin Award. It seems odd to many that they would let little kids around mules "as dangerous" but they really weren't deadly. I don't think there was ever an incident where any mule killed anyone. It's interesting that they only kicked the front of their face and, well, of course, their teff.

Well, not exactly for a reason. But it's really interesting they never kick to death anyone. I have seen horses stomp to death tame ducks. That was odd. But with people, they're much more careful.

Jesse Helms may have been a bigot and homophobe, but he was also a staunch defender of US. He made sure, while in the Senate, that US would not sign any nuclear arms treaties that ain any way made America weaker in dealing with Soviet Union.
I pity the gays and blacks whose feelings were hurt by Helms, but you have to take the bad (bigotry) with the good (long-running patriotic public service of Helms).

There was no good. Helms was a bigot and a racist. He is currently residing on spit number 1 in Hell. Every few minutes the Devil turns him a quarter turn, just to make sure he is well done. He defended nothing that has to do with America. It is not a country of bigots and racists. who gives a fuck about the nuclear arms treaties it did not stop any country from acquiring them. His patriotism was to himself.

He wanted hundreds of thousands of Americans to die. He hated blacks. He was a pig, regardless of his anti-communism. Some things, like trying to foster the extermination of hundreds of thousands of fellow Americans, are unforgivable.

You obviously didn't grow up in fear and phsyical danger. It is so not about hurt feelings. It is about being a 12 year old gay boy(who at the time didn't even know he was gay) in a rural school who is taunted and teased and physically abused because of remarks by social figures like Helms. People in high policital/social positions make bigoted hateful remarks, it gets covered by the press, parents talk about it in the home in agreement in turn influencing their children and it trickles down to the elementary level as taunts and abuse. People like him deserve to be tortured and be put through the worst miseries of Hell. He has fostered generations of ignorance and hate and crime. I can only imagine how many people were physically harmed over the years do to his hate speech--and it was their taxes that paid his salary. I can't wait until someone steps from the shadows with the keys to his closets. Someone so bigoted has to have secrets that will shock us more than we can imagine.

Remember how important the Constitution is. For all of us whether straight or gay our founding Fathers had it right. There should never be any changes to the Bill of Rights or the Constitution. We need to be thankful we survived the lying, deceitful, elitist Republicans who supported the worst President in History. Have a beer, burn some meat, get some sun, jump in the pool and be thankful there is somewhere we can all post and feel part of a family committed to helping each other.

I thought the juxaposition of the fireworks and then the news of Helms was a nice touch. We can truly celebrate but the work is not done! Great silhouette shots - so what's the best camera setting to capture that? Want to do the same tonight. Happy 4th everyone! Keep the Constitution alive!
