AMERICAblog: Just like old times - boot lickers and buffoons

And look who dropped by the award ceremony.

Given that Uribe was best buds with the Medillin Cartel, he was probably looking for some free samples.

Calderon of Mexico was there, too, who permits drugs to flow freely into the US, resulting in bloody border wars that are increasingly being imported into the US. The Mexican drug cartel in effect controls all street level drug traffic in the US now, according to the report on NBC last night. The US gets all its cocaine, heroin, methamphetamines and yes, marijuana, through Mexico now.

Thanks to PAN, the Catholic party engineered into office by American do-gooders determined to "restore" democracy to Mexico.

Footnote #1: Mexico has had a democracy since the Reovlution of 1916. That PRI always won the election was a tribute to its success at adapting to the needs of the Mexican people rather than the whimsy of the norteños. Forcing PAN on the Mexican people opened the drug door wide.

Footnote #2: Just because many of the PAN politicians are divorced doesn't make them not Catholics. Remember, Catholicism is a real-estate holding company dedicated to right wing politics. The moral guidelines are for suckers and the poor.

    Very well said.

How much did it cost the taxpayers to feed those 2 wastes of skin?

This is so disgusting, when people in ths country are suffering so much, it makes me just want to wish acid reflux or something on these greedy gourmands:

Jan. 13 (Bloomberg) -- The wealthy are still eating out. And spending a lot. Some order $450 sushi twice a week at New York’s Masa; others visit Joel Robuchon in Las Vegas dozens of times a year. Some attend $1,500 dinners at the French Laundry in Napa Valley; others book private parties at Alinea in Chicago at a cost of $25,000 to $50,000.

One of those Alinea buyouts was reserved by a “non-U.S. automaker” for early this year, said co-owner Nick Kokonas. The recession does not loom large for all.

“We have individuals who literally come twice a week,” said Veda Nishikawa, business manager for Masa Takayama’s eponymous Manhattan sushi temple, where the prix-fixe menu is $450 per person, exclusive of wine, tax and mandatory 20 percent gratuity. “It’s slowed down a bit,” but Nishikawa said business in 2008 was still better than the year before. What's even more absurd than Tony Blair being given the Medal of Freedom is that he would actually ACCEPT it without any sense of shame! I mean, we all know Bush is an idiot, but even after the fiasco that is the war in Iraq, I still think of Blair as having some sense of humanity somewhere in his flimsy excuse for a soul. But I guess there really is nothing there. He never ceases to surprise me at the depths he'll sink to be a part of the Big Boys Club. Ugh.

    What a good poodle!

Time to abolish the Medal of Freedom and create an entirely new civilian award. With his undeserving honorees, Shrub has completed the cheapening process that began when Ronnie Ray-gun gave a Medal of Freedom to Frank Sinatra.

Stuff the "head held high" crap...Dubya knows the runway has been foamed, his engines are on fire and the landing gear appears stuck in the retracted position. Join Laurie with a head between the knees, Tony.

While Gazans are being slaughtered, the 'Quartet's' 'Special Envoy' (read Poodle) is sucking it up in the White House. Mind you, he's probably just as much use to the Middle East swanning around Washington, as he'd be holed up in his swanky hotel quarters in Jerusalem. Both these guys would look a lot better in shackles and orange jumpsuits standing before the judges at the International Court in the Hague.

The statement that blair is our "poodle" is wrong.

It is apparent that the british oligarchy has been in charge for hundreds of years. They pull the stings in world events. Look at Afghanistan, Mumbai, and Iraq. They have their hands involved in every facet. They use the United States as their bully around the world.

Blair is not our poodle, WE are the poodle of the British Oligarchy, and until we come to this understanding, things will never change. Asymmetric warfare is a tool to bring down a nation. You kill them from the inside, finding their weakness. The british are true experts in this field.

The Downing Street Memo still speaks volumes about what REALLY goes on behind closed doors.

Note that GWB is only giving these awards to "retired" (unfortunately not in the Blade Runner sense) or defeated leaders. It would be the kiss of death for a currently serving Prime Minister. I suspect that this is the real reason that Stephen Harper didn't get one...

It's a shame that G.W. Bush has turned the Medal of Freedom into the Medal of Fabrication. A President bestowing that high civilian honor used to mean something. For the past eight years Bush has used it as proof of his alternate reality justifications of failed policy. The Medal of Freedom has become a symbol of dishonorable loyalty. How sad for recipients of the honor by previous presidents.

Hastert, Limbaugh, Powell and Rumsfeld were all in attendance. I wonder where they all got to sleep?

Had Bush turned on his "soul-searcher" in order to deliver that comment. If so why wasn't Vladimir Putin on the recipient list?
  • cowboyneok · 11 months ago
Seriously, is there more proof of being a universal loser than being awarded a "George W. Bush 'Medal of Freedom'" I think they need to do something for the medal, change the ribbon or something, after this disastrous eight years to show it has been awarded by a legitimate U.S. President and not "Dubya." Otherwise, who would want one?... seriously.

"They're the sort of guys who look you in the eye and tell you the truth and keep their word,"

    Oh, vomit.
They're the sort of guys who lick boots, take orders and repeat lies on command.

Chimp is ever-more-determined to shut his eyes and pretend that anyone with an IQ over 60 buys his straight-shootin' virtuous cowboy bullshit anymore. Just piss off back to Texas and drink yourself into obscurity.
