Today we learned that Secretary Gates needs to increase the size of the Army by 22,000. An extra 13,000 sure would come in handy.

John, while this blog is a great idea, i hope you won't completely "segregate" gay news to this blog. Lots of people who check in to americablog for progressive news info are straight and get to read responsible reporting about gay issues. They may note take the next step and come to this blog to read specific gay news, so i do hope on important matters you will post them on both

John, this is also a concern of mine, particularly for first-time visitors -- they may bypass the gay site, particularly if they're straight and gay issues are not uppermost in their mind. You have a terrific and very influential blog and I'd want to see it have maximum exposure.
At the least, perhaps could you highlight the link to the gay site in some way (maybe use a larger font) to make it more prominent?
