  • Dave of the Jungle · 1 year ago
Karl Rove has made pathological lying an art form.

But then, art movements come and go.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
yes, the Architect is on the case!
think they'll ever figure out that Rove is killing them now?
  • OlderButWiser · 1 year ago
Is it any surprise that the Rethugs are letting a criminal traitor call the shots in the background?
  • munjoyfan · 1 year ago
Let the MSM run with this. It's working.

    amazing.
the christofascists truly are "pro-life only before birth".
after that, you're on your own kid!

ps. as a mother myself, the weirdest thing of all about Palin is going back to work three days after having a special needs child. i can't fathom that.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
You know the Lord works in mysterious ways. With Jesus all things are possible. Placenta be damned she was going back to work the second that kid hit the doctor's hands.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
    LOL! ...placenta be damned...!

and aren't there still a million unanswered questions about that child's birth...i bet someone in Alaska knows...

The whiffs of faux revulsion steaming off various members of the corporate press/political revolving door this morning over the "vicious leftist blogs" is a riot!
Yet another bunched and twisted (possibly soiled) panty morning for poor Joe Scarborough resulted in extra zesty usual suspect interviews...Tweety and Joe, this morning, battled in a way that clearly enunciated the left's feeling toward rightist cafeteria morality without the faux chumminess that usually makes cable battles less than palatable.
One thought worth remembering when the right huffs and puffs about Palin's pregnant minor is the Monday morning when the Lewinsky scandal erupted. No one in the media seemed to know if "the girl", yet unnamed, was a minor or an adult...Yet, a color ID photo of "the girl" was broadcast over and over to B-roll highly speculative on air discussions.
I'm not saying this excuses anything...It does illustrate the right's and the corporate media's post-deregulatory situational ethics.
Governor Palin needs to address the month by month photographic evidence we saw yesterday to have a chance of wiping this story off the public consciousness.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
None of this matters. Palin is the gift that keeps on giving. And No one wants her a heart beat away from the presidency, She is a freak.

    Palin=Pork barrell politics

BTW: Her FIRST veto as governor was to NOT extend health care benefits to partners of Gay and Lesbian state workers.

    Republican family values:

-Unwanted pregancy of 17 year old unwed girl= GOOD.
-extending health care to state employees' partners= BAD.

    Am I missing something here?

Palin has now moved beyond the political to the sports page.

Brilliant moves on Rove's part! Turd blossom knows this game well.

ยท I do not understand McCain and the GOP rational for this argument. Let's just say both Palin and Kaine are both too inexperience to be VP. Kaine was not selected. So Obama choose the more experienced Biden. McCain selected the inexperienced Palin and passed over many other more experienced people including other females. How does that make Obama and the Democratic Party sexists? Just because they point out that McCain picked an inexperienced VP, and she is an inexperienced VP, then the Democrats are sexists?
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
I guess what bothers me most is that neither Palin, McCain or anyone on the GOP side wondered what was out in the Internets. I just read a note on Huffingtonpost and this was the link. Scroll down. None of my business but drinking seems to be a problem for young Bristol.

Lest we forget, the Bush twines boozed it up for eight years. Remember Jenna - drunk on her ass- and her lack of underwear at the bar? It doesn't seem to matter to the values voters.

I have three words for you. Fetal. Alcohol. Syndrome.
  • Alexmilstein · 1 year ago
So Rove is saying that Palin is just as qualified as Tim Kaine? Well, if Obama had picked Tim Kaine then that would matter.

Could someone please inform Karl Rove that Obama picked Joe Biden?
  • barts · 1 year ago
The Pig is still controlling the party.

What did they say about Pig-men?
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
You don't have to understand the reasoning of the Republicans beyond the fact that they will spin a lie or untruth so often and so frequently that it becomes a truth. So far they have been spinning everything about Palin. So far the MSM is lukewarm in going after a very unqualified VP pick. The MSM media is just beginning to talk about the vetting process WHICH is really or should be questioning John McCain's judgment

The only way to counteract this spinning is to have the blogs keep beating down Palin on the facts of her record and John McCain's judgment, because the MSM isn't going to do it. The MSM hopped on the baby story because it promised sex, remember sex sells.
  • DeppFan · 1 year ago
Why isn't Rove busy playing the fear card again -- Drano in NYC subways or some such ploy.
Oh that's right - no one believed it the first 100 times.
I do expect that card to be dealt again between now and election day, though.
  • Steve_in_CNJ · 1 year ago
that idiot michele bachmann tried the same thing on larry king. james carville was detailing Palin's lack of qualifications when Bachmann suddenly brought up Palin's sex and said that carville was demeaning women:

    happens at around 2:20

Picks are out of her then 16 year old daughter drinking, holding booze bottle and giving tongue to another girl.

    My my my.
  • Lolis · 1 year ago
Rove did not pick Palin. He wanted Romney. Anyone who thinks Rove picked Palin is crazy. McCain's best shot of winning was picking mean Romney who would do nothing but attack Obama all day. He would have increased turnout among Mormons in the key states of Colorado and Nevada and even helped in Michigan.

What state does Palin help in? oh, yeah, Alaska. She wasn't even born in another state like Biden with PA and has no ties anywhere else. Plus the no knowledge of foreign policy or even domestic economic policy. She does not help McCain in any of his weaknesses. Rumor is that McCain picked Palin all on his own because he couldn't choose the people he actually liked, Lieberman or Ridge.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Looks like, according to the NYT, Rick Davis picked her--he listens to the Dittoheads and Dobsons, who were talking her up months ago.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
    OT

I am upset that MSNBC caved into the likes of Joe Scarborough and Tucker Carlson to remove Keith Olberman from the coverage of the Republican convention. No big announcement, just removed him. Scarborough sitting there talking about how anchors should be more objective while HE slams the Dems on a regular basis
  • Hawk · 1 year ago
    Typical Republican sleaze all around.

The Glass ceiling comments by Palin? Yes, typical, AFTER someone else does all the work, the Repubicans run through the glass ceiling and claim credit for it.

Give her her privacy? Typical, did someone inform Obama that his VP choice would not be vetted by Republicans? Oh, that's right, a choice like Palin would have no end to the vetting!

Now the Republicans are the party of disaster concern? They got 70 miles lucky! There were "no Levee breaches reported" except for the one that was! (Media)

Dem Convention coverage, one major Media channel nightly.
Last night? 3 MAJOR NETWORKS ALL COVERED THE RNC!

If they control the message (Republicans are still viable, McCain is a Hero and Obama is scary and unknown, never know if he is not secretly an Anti-Christian, America hating Gay Muslim abortion Doctor who will drop the sky on your babies if he gets the chance) and they control the Method (VOTING) they're still gonna win!

    Voting and Media

  • Hawk · 1 year ago
How long would it take (media would not press) for McCain to declare to his base (if the shoe were on the other foot) that the family & children are off limits?

About as long as Rice let Isreal bomb Lebanon! You would not hear a peep for two weeks!

But, who is the first Dem Politician to do it? Obama (media absent)! He will let the base bash his character till 11/04
  • ADLEED · 1 year ago
Best thing is Rove being constantly seen! He is sleaze and is tied to Bush and Cheney!
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
I amnoticing a disturbing trend. All the rethugs the press speaks to are lauding this pregnancy development. All the voters they talk to LOVE the fact that she is pregnant and "keeping the baby". they don't give a hot damn that they were lied to by Palin and the Republican party. Sadly, I'm starting to feel like McCain and the gang knew all about this and were planning to use it all along.

And the newest talkingpoint: If Obama wanted to stop this chattering in the blogosphere he coule put a stop to it. WTF now the man has the power to control the internets? Sarah Palin can't even control her daughter's hoo hoo and they want Obama to be able to control US. riiiiiight. What more can he do than make the statement he did?

but when their State Republican operative were putting out negative ads in TN about Rev. Wright they were supposedly powerless.

I guess they figure just because they control and provide the talking points in fundie land media, that dems do the same. nope. we have minds of our own.

    bastuhds.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
OH John you are so silly....Don't you know Kaine has no PTA experience?
That made all the difference. Palin and Cindy can get together and make Cindy
Vicodin Nut Chews or Morphine Muffins and raise enough money to pay for veteran's health care.
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
and isn't that fat fu(ker supposed to be in an "unofficial" role. how the hell do you have that much "unofficial" power?
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
oooooh the TV folks covering the convention right now are freaking out about the earmark revelation. saying somethig about how peopel will forgive.....but dislike hypocrits.......
  • EmGD · 1 year ago
Analyzing Rove statements for consistency and then trying to apply some standard of honesty or truth to them is as close to the definition of madness one can find.

  • Joneses · 1 year ago
They all got their talking points. Didn't you know that the Repugs are drones as well as the right wing nut cases.

As to Kaine, I think Rove is a little jealous, I think he has a crush on him.

As far as the pregnancy thingy, smells of hypocracy and double standard. These people do not have any morals, none whatsoever. After all, I am a true believer in meeting the maker one day, and in my opinion, he or she is not a happy camper.

That said, Gov. Kaine is tough and well spoken and a man of religion. He knows how to deal the one of Darth Cheney's servants.

There is no reason in the world not to bring up that other "foremer Governor", Bush.

He was unquestionably unqalified...he ignored warnings by Clinton on his way out that OBL was the most dangerous guy around and to focus on him. He let 911 happen on his "watch". He blew it with all political appointments which became apparent with Katrina and New Orleans.

NAME ONE ACCOMPLISHMENT of the Bush administration besides no-bid giveaways and wars on false pretense.

That's what you get with the underqualified. If he had had a brain, and interest, and believed in doing well for the whole US he could have been plenty qualified...but he is mean little SOB that has no interest in anything except vacationing. Qualification lies not in a resume, it is in the person.
  • CountryRoads · 1 year ago
I have two comments on this topic. First, the MSM need to do some research on Tim Kaine. He assumed office in January 2006 while Sarah Palin assumed office in December 2006. Virginia elects their governors on off-off years (in Kaine's case, November 2005). Saying the two have been governor for the same amount of time is simply wrong.

Second, and more importantly, OBAMA DID NOT PICK TIM KAINE FOR VP. I can't stress enough how important that point is. Why compare the experience of Palin (who has been picked to be VP) with the experience of Kaine (who was not picked SPECIFICALLY BECUASE HE DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH EXPERIENCE)?

I think the whole argument just points to Obama as the more mature decisionmaker. He opted to have a heavyweight as his VP pick. McCain opted to "be a maverick." Haven't we had enough cowboy decisionmaking?

Managing a town with a population of 9,000 with a staff of 50 is like managing an Olive Garden. The "EXPERTS" on FIX news claim that Palin has 13 years of "Executive" experience. It is an insult to all women...what are her qualifications? Getting pregnant and then marrying? Seeking Alaskan independence? Lobbying for Pork? I will keep the family out of the picture. I think her family needs her desperately than this nation.

What a woman? Totally ignoring the problems at home for personal gains!
