    The sad fact is that the unintended result of intergration has been the decline of public education in this country. The rich have no problem getting quality education for their kids, but the poor of all races now get the same short end of the stick that Brown was supposed to eliminate.

    Thank you for noting this event. "Separate and unequal" is deeply ingrained in the American psyche still, in close proximity to "it's my land and I can do what I want with it" and "it's a free country". It justifies income inequality, gated communities, and lack of access to basic human needs like medical care. We still don't get that the chain is only so strong as its weakest link.
