AMERICAblog: Let's hope if John McCain becomes president that Al Qaeda doesn't decide to strike on a weekend. That's his time off.

dishonoring yourself and selling your soul would be draining even for a younger man. meanwhile, 538 . com just moved NC into the lean DEM category. i didn't see any other changes.

Speaking of votes: I thought this was interesting, MSNBC is reporting "Turnout light in Ohio early voting window, weeklong period ends with about 4,000 to 5,000 voters participating".
I think the Obama campaign was hoping for a much larger turnout. Ohio did give (through whatever legit or nefarious reason) the election to Bush. I'd much rather have seen Ohio early voting to be massive...

Obama campaign workers have been pushing for people to vote early, but I'm one who will wait for the 4th. I want to be a part of that glorious day and I suspect others feel as I do.

Sorry for late reply, I was sleeping, ha. I didn't think about it that way, but it makes sense. I know I want to be there on that day!

Well, you know, he does vote with Bush over 90% of the time and Bush always says "it's hard work"...
Of course if he was sleeping, would he just let Pailin handle it?

I had 10 friends die in Nam . . . 4 of them next to me. They did not die for the likes of this traitorous coward and that bitch that is his running mate. I am INFURIATED by these traitors. If they win, it is time to foloow the example of the Founding Fathers.

McCain himself was closely connected to a private group that supplied aid to rebels trying to overthrow the leftist government of Nicaragua during the Iran-Contra affair. The U.S. Council for World Freedom was part of an international organization linked to former Nazi collaborators and ultra-right-wing death squads in Central America. The group was dedicated to stamping out communism around the globe.
The council's founder, retired Army Maj. Gen. John Singlaub, said McCain became associated with the organization in the early 1980s as McCain was launching his political career in Arizona. Singlaub said McCain was a supporter but not an active member in the group. http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/washington/AP-M...

Off-topic, I know--but today was my birthday. I only bring it up because it's also the anniversary of Matthew Shepard's brutal beating in Wyoming ten years ago--unfortunately my birthday now is always a reminder of that terrible event. I hope, someday, this nation will be a better, safer place for all gay and lesbian people. Maybe if we can put the McCains and Palins behind us--and all that they stand for--it will be a step forward. One can always hope.

Happy Birthday, Webster, and thanks for all your really good comments here. You are a gift to all of us.
I'm sorry your day has to be marred by that tragic event but, yes, we have to believe change is gonna come.
