AMERICAblog: Letterman's Top 10 moments of the Bush years

  • amsterdamize · 10 months ago
Letterman's crew should have put in that video from a few months ago of Bush exiting the helicopter (don't remember where it was), waving at the only two people there, two guys standing behind a fence...not responding. Bush waved again, in a desperate way...again no response.

Heck - half of the 700K jobless is due to out of work comedians now that Bush is leaving.

Letterman forgot the best one: "Mission Accomplished" with Bush in his codpiece...
  • woodroad34 · 10 months ago
    That was my thought exactly!

A President of the United States of America who rarely gave Americans reason to feel anything but humiliation, insecurity and mistrust. The man is and was an incompetent PRETENDER in every sense of the word. Laughter and anger have been our only viable defense mechanisms.

OT, but Blago going all populist in front of a group of citizens he invited...giving a laundry list of what he's done for "the people" using them to testify as to his goodness...all the health care issues he claims he initiated and brought to IL. This is his answer to impeachment.

    Speechifying...quoting Tennyson now.

Um, my flash is apparently FUBAR, can someone post a transcript or a YouTube link (it works there, don't ask me why) or something?

I agree with Johnny Carson, who reportedly said the only thing he regretted about his retirement was that had he stuck around, he might have made a laughing stock out of George W. the way he did Dan Quayle, and we would have been spared Bush 43.

It's too late for regrets about W -- but please, someone, do a number on Jeb and nip his "presidency" in the bud.

Ah, the alcoholic pResident that the conservatards all wanted to have a beer with.

Dave forgot another moment: The G8 summit where he's talking to someone over his shoulder and spitting bread crumbs out at the same time. So classy.

And thinking of that moment, there was the revulsion Merkel showed when Bush tried to rub her shoulders.

I couldn't see it at first, either (and had strangely never seen it before!). But after watching it about 6 times, I finally caught it: he spits!

I think that all his fumblings clumsiness and misspeaks would be endearing if it was not attached to such devastating policy. I do not believe that poor speaking skills and clutziness are signs of incompetence and I hope that focus is always placed on his horrible policies and not his "Three Stooges' act." He was not incompetent; he was willfully destructive.
