AMERICAblog: Liddy Dole (R-Watergate Hotel)

  • Ginger_FL · 1 year ago
    Wow...I'm stunned...another great AD!

Have the Dem's finally hired Youtube video creators or have they finally started listening to the "Base"?

As a North Carolinian, I've been saying this for years, even during the 2002 election, when she claimed her ailing mother's house in Salisbury as her residence. She probably hasn't had a real residence here in 50 years...

    Southerners have experience with CARPETBAGGERS.

    Dump the AWOL DOLE

    ELECT KAY HAGAN!

over the weekend Nate Silver moved the OR senate race to "tilts Dem" and dropped NC to 51% "tilts repub". If it moves also, the projection will be a 7 seat pickup for dems. i think that's effectively filibuster proof, because a few of the GOP senators up for reelection in 2010 will just freak out.

The collapse of Wachovia, based in NC, is going to have major ramifications for the NC economy - many jobs will likely be lost. I wonder if this is going to translate into an even bigger shift to the Democrats?
  • OlderButWiser · 1 year ago
CitiGroup claims it will only eliminate 5% of Wachovia jobs, but if you believe that...and overnight, Wachovia shares dropped to 10 cents, although they have risen some since Citi announced it would take over all its banking operations; Wachovia will be left with only A.G. Edwards and Evergreen, brokerage and annuity entities. The financials have moved big time into
Charlotte in the past 5 years, and it's ripe for job losses. The locals see nothing but devastation.

Most carpetbaggers at least have the common decency to pretend that they give a damn to their state. I guess she thought she could do it during a weekend visit to Nags Head. Oh well, if she loses Democrats will be losing one of it's most effective partners in electing Democrats. Her leadership of the NRSC has been delightfully horrific.

Liddy Dole is a religious nutbag moron who used to wallow in the "Aren't I so PRETTY ?" puddle. Perhaps this explains why she has had such success getting re-elected.

One little worry, will we have to put up with leiberman more if we hit 60, or will Reid be ok with sending him to the other party
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
IMHO, Its not a worry for me... if we hit 60? kick his ass out of the party.

he's the poster child for a DINO, and he blames that on the Democratic party and where its heading.

he's an asshat, kick him to the curb.

It is heartening to see Kay Hagan doing well in NC. Personally, I don't see how any voter could elect an Ethel Merman look-alike to the Senate. Dole is a bad drag act.

The "Jesse Helms AIDS Act" promo really pushed me over the edge.

This 2:14 could be boiled down to a terrific :60 or :30 second TV spot...
  • burro · 1 year ago
How about new and better journalists to go along with the new and better Dems?
  • KelvinMace · 1 year ago
Sadly, Hagan is a pro-corporate, pro-drilling, right-of center Dem. She ran from gay marriage saying it was up to the state to decide. She has shunned the liberal wing of the party and supported vile RW issues like Telco amnesty. If she thinks a position will lose her votes, she will betray it. Don't look for much change from her on gay rights, corporate regulation, and energy policy.

The only time I ever saw Bob Dole in person was, in fact, in the Watergate Hotel. The company I worked for was putting on a seminar, and I was one of the participant registering folks. Dole walked by us (wearing a windbreaker with GOP on the back in huge letters, natch). He was pleasant, though. He said hello, and mentioned that we looked like a good group.

Dole's offcial residence is in a NC house that she only recently bought from her mother?

Perhaps we can get Bill O'Really on this. He sure has no problem going after Democrats who have this kind of problem. Anyone recall how O'Really is attacking Congressman Wexler for saying his offcial residence is in FL but he lives in DC. It's all about the "fair and balanced coverage" according to O'Really. Will he investigate Dole?
