    Let him join the republicans. It will just be more proof to his constituents that he is indeed the liar and weasel we were all saying he was when he was running for re-election. It will kill any chance he has of being re-elected again.

    And that is precisely why he won't willingly leave the D's caucus, when he crosses that final line he won't be sent back for another term.

    He's likely clinging to his committee chairmanship for 2 reasons ... first to keep "prying eyes" out of what he's been doing with the info he's privy to as committee chairman (lord knows he hasn't been using the information to hold the Bush admin accountable for anything) .... and the second would be to use the committee to mount endless investigations into ANYTHING and EVERYTHING the Obama administration wants to do...

    Wow you people are dense!! the Democrats are the ones who screwed Lieberman if you can't remember and i thought of it as an endearing positive quality to stand up for what you believe in rather then following some Liberal propaganda mindlessly. Maybe I'm wrong though

    Actually, the Lieberman screwed the Democrats first. He had the support of the Democratic establishment but it was made clear to him that if Ned Lamont won the Democratic primary, they would not go against the voters and would give their support to Lamont as the legitimate candidate. Lieberman threw a hissy fit when he lost and ran as an independent because he knew his status as an incumbent would basically guarantee his re-election not to mention he was polling better then the Republican's own candidate.

    My God! NPR’s Science Friday discussed how Obama’s presidency will change the attitude toward science in the White House. They were careful not to say the anti-science attitude, but that is clearly what they meant. I think it was so pervasive that it might have been what even killed Star Trek since the producers of that show were clearly themselves very anti-science and made the show seem like an extremely stupid comic book with their disgusting “mistakes.” But, besides the anti-abortion garbage, the anti-evolution, anti-stem cell, anti-renewable energy and so much more, Bush simply was anti-knowledge. Plus, consider now that he just hated anyone who was at all smart. Shudder! Much as it would have been under Sarah Palin who would have considered science to be anti-Christian and evil. It is going to be a very, very different world now that we have a president who won’t be deliberately trying to dumb down the nation to his own pathetic level of stupidity.

    God bless Joe for comming to his sences after all of these years of voting against classic American values. He has as Reagan did see the light and realize that the Democrats are wreaking this country. Lieberman will definately be on the winning side when Americans everywhere cast Osama and Liberal flunkies out of our White House. I can't wait untill we get the gay ban on the federal constitution and then stomp out gayism everywhere, it is a plague and should be reclassified as form of mental illness. Eventhough I have never supported the Mormon church, God will surely lift them up regardless of these little protests. ROMNEY/PALIN 2012!!!!

    What a loser. How can a guy actually think that after campaigning for the opposing party's candidate for president AND saying critical things about Obama believe he was going to hold on to key posts within the Democratic party??

    Furthermore, this is the guy that chose be an 'Independent Democrat' after Democratic voters kicked him out a couple of years ago. In his mind, he was still a 'Democrat' even if the voters preferred a REAL Democrat.

    So how can you then all the sudden possibly consider actually being a Republican after declaring yourself an 'Independent Democrat'?

    F*ck this guy. I just hope Harry Reid gets the chance to boot him out before Lieberman decides to become a Republican. I don't want Lieberman to have the satisfaction to choose his own fate; I want Reid to decide it for him.

    A lot of stomping of feet, bellowing, chest puffing and bravado but at the end of the day Dems will probably tell Lieberman he is a bad, bad boy and he should not repeat his traitor like behavior. If Reid hasn't smacked him down by now he isn't going to do it. Lieberman should have been dealt with swiftly, like hours after the election, once again Reid is making noises but no follow through.

    Joe is clearly senile, just as senile as McCain. Time to throw old Joe a big retirement party, sponsored by the insurance companies who pay his bills. I suggest sending them an emissary from the future Treasury department to talk about the new more closely regulated financial sector, and inviting them to give Joe a really good send off.

    This is exactly how I feel. Let Leiberman become a Republican and vote with them. In 4 years he'll be ousted by his own Constituents. Or, he'll join the Republican caucus and vote against THEM for 4 years in order to retain his Senate seat in 4 years. As I see it, it's win-win as long as Dems take the long view with Leiberman.

    I think it's time for Joe to understand when you burn a candle from both ends you get burnt. He knew what he was doing and saying, it's time for him to pay consequences for his deeds. He, in no way, should retain his chairmanships in the Democratic party . . . allowing him to caucas is bad enough.

    Lieberman is a dead senator walking......he won't be able to find a way to get reelected in CT running as an Indendent without Democratic support, and running as a Republican is suicide. His only viable option is to remain in the Senate to become a YES man for Harry Reid. Reid was very smart to suggest that he'd put Lieberman's chairmanship to an on-the-record vote and thereby silence the Democrats who want to forgive and forget, but don't want the voters back home to know they supported a backstabbing turncoat.

    Lieberman has become the JOKER of the 2 parties.'

    First he runs as a democratic VP and then he converts to Independent, and now that MCCain lost (he thought that McCain would choose him to run with him or give him an important cabinet position if he won)

    He just wanted to be VP and he lost in both parties.

    Get the bastard out of the Senate.........period........he is a 'LOSER' He straddles the fence on both sides.
