I know that whenever I think of Phoenix I immediately think of urban lofts! Think of Phoenix's edgy, vibrant, artsy downtown! (Actually Cindy McCain's realtor is lying; it's an end unit suburban condominium in the style of a TrIBeCa loft refit). And at $730K it's overpriced by at least $200K in today's market.

    Remote control window coverings!??!!

I must be living in the dark ages....first I've heard of them.

Oh well.....considering McCain is on disability.......
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
Okay, I totally missed that. LOL
  • Coming Undone · 1 year ago
And you know McCain can't use a remote control, he probably thinks its a garage door opener.
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
LOL "Hey, why do the damn blinds keep opening every time I try to open the damn garage door, you trollop?"
  • Rab · 1 year ago
Clear evidence that the rich don't get taxed high enough in this country.
  • Coming Undone · 1 year ago
Give it a couple of days and McCain will swear that he never authorized the Realtor to sell his house.

McCain needs one of these "I'm not handicapped I'm just lazy" shirts

whoa! shows how much the housing market is crashing... its offered at $730,000???

MAN! that would've been right on target to buy my 1250 sq ft. townhouse, four years ago (well... 680k or so).

we can't get 350K for it now... which is less than the mortgage and equity loan combined.

I'm sure they paid for the house in cash anyway.

Remote control window coverings aren't really new. I helped design the Hunter Douglas remote control system more than a decade ago. Being an engineer, I can almost afford to buy the system. But I already have way too many remotes and it really isn't very hard to operate the shades by hand. It's really more of a gimmick product for residential applications. But for commercial buildings, it's a great product that can be linked to computerized environmental systems to reduce energy consumption.

McCain's first wife waited 5 yrs for his return from Vietnam, only to be dumped by him a year later after she got into a car wreck. Mr Moral Leadership McCain left his crippled wife for a beer heiress, Plastic Cindy. So of course they need remote control window coverings in 7 or 8 of their homes.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
Cindy requested the remote control window coverings.

They come in handy when the pool boy comes by.

(If you know what I mean...and I think that you do.)
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
Accidental cougering...Oops, Cindy mistakenly hits the controls with her wrinkled, leathery old dugs...
  • KerrynowCampau · 1 year ago
    Poor pool boy...........yuck

  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
Ooh, man...Aside from the pool, that's $730K of ugly...

My thoughts exactly. Good gosh, money doesn't buy taste.

John McCain only knows war. Bombing people, innocent or not, indiscriminately. His entire male lineage is a military dynasty he wants to impose on America. It's anathema to the American ideal of a civilian-led government. The neocons and the warmongering press adore him because he gives them what they want: war, oil, and profits. FOX News sole purpose is make Americans stupid to vote for idiots that increases viewers and profits for his Chinese-backed media empire.

It's disgusting that no media program has discussed McCain's illegal contributions that the FEC refuse to investigate under control of the Bush regime, yet ALL OF THE TALKING HEADS were critical of Obama's renouncing his pledge to public funding. McCain charges hypocrisy, but not one mention of McCain's illegal fundraising under FEC rules?

This TV ad for Senator John Cornyn of Texas is SO INDESCRIBABLY AWFUL that it may just make you feel enormous shame for being American. It is that bad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vcB7uCqdFk&eurl...

Ha!!! I live in Tucson and it hot here!! 108* today. Looked into those "Arizona Shutters" and they START at $800.00 per window. That's about a 3 by 5. Grossly expensive and only have a 5 yr warranty but profess to last 25 years.

I had a loft apartment once that had 18' ceilings with windows almost that tall. We installed automatic shades that were light sensitive and had a remote control. They weren't that expensive and were very effective in controlling heating/cooling costs in this loft. They actually can be quite energy efficient.
  • devis1 · 1 year ago
I agree. I spent exta for the honeycomb shades that really make a differnce particularly on my south facing windows which are six feet high. I keep them down for most of the day from spring thru summer. Remote control would definitely have been a budget buster tho!

Boy, do they have bad taste in furniture. It looks fairly cheep to me and that kitchen-dining room area looks like a cafeteria. I am surprised. If the rest of their homes are anything like this one, just what are they doing with their money, it certainly isn't being spent on furniture. What a cold looking house. I think it fits their personalities very well. Sorry, I realize I'm nit picking but this totally surprised me, I thought they had better tastes than that.

How about that jaccuzi sitting on a slab of concrete?
    :(
  • Butch1 · 1 year ago
The virtual tour left me feeling like no one has lived there for years. Very sparsely decorated and with very cheep looking furniture it is no wonder they can't remember how many homes they have. I wonder if there are two coffins in the basement with a wee bit of earth from their homeland in it?! I would hesitate to look at the water in the hot tub to see if it is soup yet. ;-)

Can I use my "stimulus" check to buy those remote control window coverings?

I hate to defend McCain, but having lived in Phoenix I saw quite a few homes with remote control window shades in rooms with vaulted ceilings and high windows. During mid-day you have to close all the window coverings in your house to keep the sun out or else your AC will be working over time. McCain is still a total tool though.
