AMERICAblog: Listen to McCain's lawyer say today that the Keating Five investigation was simply a partisan smear campaign against John McCain

Haha...this is great. This should be big news all over the media the entire week.

But, it won't be. "Look! Obama is being intelligent and measured again! Obama's a Muslim! Obama has tea with terrorists! Obama wants to be nice to people he disagrees with!"

So McCain waited all these years, to say that? I am glad that the Obama camp has brought this disgraceful scandal out, it was time someone informed the American people, that the man they might vote for, was partially responsible for the mess we are in, because of his stupidity to push for deregulation.
It seems Old Mac has not learned his lesson.
He continues to lie, and make personal attacks on Obama.
He does not know any other way to win.

A partisan smear of 4 (FOUR!!) Democrats and 1 (ONE!!) Republican? Wow, those Senate Democrats back then were very shifty!! They hide the partisan nature of their witchhunt of Saint John McCain by throwing 4 Democrats under the bus, just to get at John McCain! 4 to 1 ratio, that's just how mavericky he is.

Not looking good for McCain here. Having his lawyer speak for him says one of two things -- 1) he has to be careful not to say anything easily contradictable (i.e. a big fat lie), or 2) he can't be trusted to keep his infamous temper in check. On second thought 1 & 2 aren't mutually exclusive.

In February this year, on Fox News' "Hannity and Colmes," Senate Ethics Committee Robert Bennett said, "First, I should tell your listeners I'm a registered Democrat, so I'm not on (McCain's) side of a lot of issues. But I investigated John McCain for a year and a half, at least, when I was special counsel to the Senate Ethics Committee in the Keating Five. ... And if there is one thing I am absolutely confident of, it is John McCain is an honest man. I recommended to the Senate Ethics Committee that he be cut out of the case, that there was no evidence against him." "

McCain has admitted many times he made a mistake with Keating, so at least one of them has been lying. Is anyone still keeping count?

You know what...if you wrote a book, and described EXACTLY the Mc Cain/Palin crapola roadshow, but as fiction with fictional names, publishers would send rejection letters telling you "premise okay, but the characters are just too one-dimensional and charicature-like. Try to work on character development to be more believable. Also, crowds aren't so cliche'd as too "boo" en masse "Mainstream media".

Your book makes H.L. Menckens' books understated.

John Dowd has been doing McCain's wet work for years now. He should the subject of some of the McCains' antics, with going after the administrator of Cindy's charity that reported her to the DEA for forging prescriptions. He was the lawyer in that lawsuit and dealt with Cindy's plea.

Gooo---ooood! Hey, Dowd, let's fight 1989 all over again in the middle of your loser client's losing election campaign ("I think it was a cheap shot...")

Most people's reaction to partisan smear attempts is to admit wrongdoing and forge a career around redeeming himself for his corrupt misdeeds.....right?

I wrote about 5 comments and had to erase all of them. I can see this stirring up the pot...
