AMERICAblog: Liz Trotta, Fox News analyst, laughed about knocking Obama "if we could." She should be investigated by the authorities.

  • Mikki --SE Pennsylvania · 1 year ago
Why is anyone surprised when more lies and misstatements issue from Fox "News" and the slimy bottom-feeders they use as on air talking heads. Fox is nothing more than the major propaganda arm of the Bush/McCain republicon party apparatus. The same rule of thumb works with any of them: How can you tell if they are lying? If their lips are moving they are lying.
As for the filth besmirched racist, lying, bitch monster, Hillary, not content with her shameful and outrageous remarks in South Dakota, and the vague wandering of her so-called "apology," she continues to lie and dissemble aided and abetted by her whoremonger and serial adulterer husband, as well as her weasely and shamnless "advisors," Howard Wolfson and Terry McAuliffe. These two putrid sacks of excrement are not even good liars.
But worst of all NOT A WORD HAS BEEN HEARD FROM THE DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP---- Dean, Reid and Pelosi (Thats the same as "Impeachment is off the table" Pelosi whom, I am seriously beginning to hope will be voted out of office.) The stink is getting pretty bad from this group of losers too!
HILLARY MUST GO! Will someone please get the hook!

Seems to me that's grounds for an investigation. FBI? Secret Service? Anyone?
  • TexasVietVet · 1 year ago
You expect the Secret Service, governed by the brilliant conservanazi bu$h, to enforce the law against another conservanazi?

FBI? Hardly. It's just a partisan tool of the bu$hnazis. Secret Service? Has it been politcally corrupted by rove/cheney? Probably. Remember who protected GFY when he shot his hunting buddy in the face.

Heck, we got the best democracy money can buy.

Fuck Trotta, fuck Clinton, and fuck those defending either of their assassination remarks.

I bet the Secret Service is to busy infiltrating vegan potlucks in Minnesota to do anything about a real threat mentioned on nationwide TV

"knock off Ossama, Obama both if we really could" sounds like a threat to harm Obama if she were given the opportunity
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
I'm with everyone who thinks this was planned. Those on the right continue to try to link Osama and Obama together by purposefully pretending to mistakenly say both names together. Then again, we knew this was going to happen a long time ago. It was one reason I supported Edwards. I was afraid the same type of voter who voted for the snarky frat boy because they wanted to have a beer with him, would fail to be able to distinguish between Osama and Obama. I just don't trust the average American voter. Not after the 2000 elections.
  • Eyeball_Kid · 1 year ago
And isn't it interesting that the head of the FBI has been completely silent on this trend? We're talking about a federal offense. If there isn't going to be an arrest, then Mueller should be calling a press conference stating that his agency will begin to arrest and charge those who are indirectly stating the obvious.

And why doesn't Mr. 43 make a comment on the increasingly vile statements that are all over the public airwaves?

We're noticing the impotence of the Justice Department in that they aren't "visiting" alleged inciters. Where IS everybody? Where are the law enforcement people? Why is Bush's Administration mum on assassination talk? It's real, it's dangerous, it's happening now, and, remember, "if you're not with us, then you're against us." Is Bush condoning this trend by his remaining silent?
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Think of all the troops that would be alive today, and the trillion dollars we lost due to the decision in 2000 to allow George W. Bush to steal the Presidency.
  • hopelesspedant · 1 year ago
She deserves to be fired, shunned, scorned, but not arrested.

Saying you wish someone were dead or killed is not illegal, except perhaps about the president, and even then one would likely need to make a more direct threat or call to action, rather than express what would be her after-the-fact reaction.

Let's not get carried away here.

Again, what she said was horrible. Just not illegal.

    HBO's "Recount"

We are to the point where the Supreme Court has SELECTED George W. Bush as our President.

I also forgot where Lieberman played into the hands of Bush/Cheney several times during the process. Lieberman is such a scumbag.

We are watching the Republicans cheer and kiss each other over the Supreme Court handing the country over to a bunch of Neo-Con thieves who will then divert our nation into a disastrous war where the little punk will lie and claim he sacrificed his golf game for the war in which he kills thousands of our young brave troops based on a bunch of lies.

  • Coming Undone · 1 year ago
This has to have been planned , first of all the Right wing along with the Clintons wants to connect Osama with Obama then they want the Obama supporters to get angry and upset with Fox news and Hillary Clinton so they can play this 24/7 of Osama and Obama on all the news stations. Put the connection in the voters mind.

Then it will be that the Obama people are offended about Osama Bin Ladin being killed, next step we are all Un-American and we want the terrorists to win.

Here's a piece of federal law that *might* be applicable:

Under The United States Code, Title 18, Part I, Chapter XIV, Section 879:

    (a) Whoever knowingly and willfully threatens to kill, kidnap, or inflict bodily harm upon—
    (1) a former President or a member of the immediate family of a former President;
    (2) a member of the immediate family of the President, the President-elect, the Vice President, or the Vice President-elect;
    (3) a major candidate for the office of President or Vice President, or a member of the immediate family of such candidate; or
    (4) a person protected by the Secret Service under section 3056 (a)(6);
shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 5 years, or both.

    (b) As used in this section—
    (1) the term “immediate family” means—
    (A) with respect to subsection (a)(1) of this section, the wife of a former President during his lifetime, the widow of a former President until her death or remarriage, and minor children of a former President until they reach sixteen years of age; and
    (B) with respect to subsection (a)(2) and (a)(3) of this section, a person to whom the President, President-elect, Vice President, Vice President-elect, or major candidate for the office of President or Vice President—
    (i) is related by blood, marriage, or adoption; or
    (ii) stands in loco parentis;
    (2) the term “major candidate for the office of President or Vice President” means a candidate referred to in subsection (a)(7) of section 3056 of this title; and
    (3) the terms “President-elect” and “Vice President-elect” have the meanings given those terms in section 871 (b) of this title.

I suspect it doesn't fly, but it's the closest I've seen.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Secret Service doesn't act unless a Republican is threatened.
  • hopelesspedant · 1 year ago
    Thanks for that, Sheriff.

The statute doesn't mention anything about wanting something to happen, but rather somehow indicating one is indicating he or she is going to do it, or actively solicits someone else to do it. Not being happy if it happens.

Again, she is awful, and should be fired. But let's be careful about the First Amendment.
  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
Trotta is disgusting and Hillary's campaign staff is just repeating the insults so that people will get used to them.
  • hopelesspedant · 1 year ago
Adding to what I've written - I have no problem with the Secret Service contacting her and Fox just to let them know they noticed. But I would have a problem with an arrest for reasons stated.
  • ThingsComeUndone · 1 year ago
I agree no arrest but they should check to see if she has a gun permit felony record, any visits to a nut house or history of drug abuse.

Actually, the Secret Service may have a chat. They are very sensitive to this kind of talk and a guy who wrote about this kind of thing on his blog (he is a right winger and was talking about ways Obama could be killed) and Jesus General got ahold of it and the Secret Service came to see the guy.
With the talk getting a bit much as a result of Hillary's remarks, and now Fox talking crazy like this, she can probably expect for them to pay a visit.

Oh, and now Hillary has a new excuse for the whole uproar: It's all Obama's fault.

  • hopelesspedant · 1 year ago
BTW the same Secret Service people are deriding here are by all accounts doing a professional job protecting Obama.

I don't doubt there are some top-level political appointees who are doing things that exceed their proper enforcement, but from my understanding Obama likes his detail - he invited them into his home to watch the Super Bowl last February, for one thing.

This is absolutely disgusting and inexcusable. But I will wager any amount of money that Hillary and her campaign think that this incident will take the pressure off of her for making the original assassination remarks, but she is deluding herself once more. I have a feeling that this will be as big news as Hillary's gaffe (I REALLY hope KO discusses it with Maddow on the next Countdown!) and every time the FauxNews story is talked about, the original Hillary remark will be referenced, and this will NOT be good for Hillary. It will just keep the story alive as it had happened in the last 5 minutes. Although I think that Hillary did not mean that Obama should be assassinated, Trotta practically wished for it (especially since she laughed after her words) and now both are going to suffer for their stupidity, and rightly so. And BTW, how come these people keep forgetting that we live in an age of instant communication, where what a politician or newsperson says can be disseminated around the world in seconds via the Web and read by and repeated by potentially billions of people? How dumb are these people? I mean, I'm not a Yale or Harvard graduate but even I've been able to figure that one out.
And I'll bet Trotta has had to change her shit-stained panties more than once today. Maybe she can do her laundry at Rove's house. I'm sure his Maytag is running 24 hours a day.
  • zavlin · 1 year ago

  • KISSman · 1 year ago
Wow, that's foul. I mean, with a chuckle, admitted that she would like both of them dead. And for what with Obama -- political differences?

I mean, we're talking about a guy who has only been a senator (1 of 100) for 3 years. What could he have done in his political career that would be so horrible in the eyes of Republicans that would make them wish for his demise? I suppose they either just hate everyone who thinks differently or they hate black people -- or both.

You can never tell what the Secret Service is up to. It's my guest they're investigating this, but quietly.
  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
We'll never be able to laugh about this, but in a week and a couple of days, if not sooner, there won't be anything left for Hillary to do but tantrum.
Obama needs but 49 more delegates. On Friday it was 56. I think they are moving according to plan so that when the last primary votes are counted and added in to recent SD gains, Obama will be the nominee.
And I believe the Rules Committee of the DNC isn't going to be much of a help.
  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
    To Hillary, that is.
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
I agree. It's all over after Tuesday, and after Tuesday, as Jimmy Carter said in London, the superdelegates will come out in droves to signal to Clinton that it is all over. Whether she picks up the signal or not, I don't know.

I'm getting discouraged here, both the NBC and ABC nightly news tonight tried to downplay what Hillary said. It's like they are buying her "It's all Obama's fault" crap. • jwhit · 1 year ago
They are policing themselves so what difference would it make. It would be another stalled investigation just like the 9/11 inside job incident, the 9/11 insider trading incident, the lies about 9/11 tied to Iraq when we already know that the US, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Afghanistan are creating and funding the terrorists, etc. These are the same people that built this country on genocide, slavery and political assassinations in order to further their One World Agenda. Each assassination has always been labeled a "conspiracy theory" however most of the shooters were under mind control experiments which were perpetrated by our govt. Clinton apologized for mind control experiments years ago. Hillary was charged with sexual abuse by a mind control victim. Ironically, it was Hannity who interviewed the person on Fox years ago but today he will deny it. More importantly, Bin Liden has been dead since 2001 and Hillary knows that but she used his image in a fear mongering attack on Obama. Bhutto's interview on BBC in Nov 07 confirmed that - why is she dead? Who protected her? www.whatreallyhappened.com The bottom line is that most of them are Zionists (not real Jews) and we as a people are going to have to fight for, defend and protect ourselves as well as our President elect. They are trying to encourage a nut to kill him because too many people know about the inside jobs at the FBI, CIA, SECRET SERVICE, ETC

Shouting fire in a crowded theatre is not protected free speech - because saying it could cause a panic that leads to death.

Saying on tv that you would be happy that there were a fire in a crowded theatre that killed a lot of people is not illegal.

    That's the difference.

You'd have to prove her saying she'd be happy with his killing was likely to be an immediate cause of it happening for it to be illegal.

Many, many vile and terrible thoughts are protected by the first amendment. This is one of them.

C'mon people, let's not all be Freeper-esque morons. She made a typical Obama/Osama slip, then tried to laugh it off by saying "I wish we could" -- in other words, knock off Osama. If you really think she meant that it would be good to knock off Barack, you need to take a couple of days off, relax and regain your sense of perspective.

Edited to add: actually, I missed where she said "both, if we could" -- OK, I take back my original comment. She needs a knock on the door from the FBI.
