WASHINGTON — Barack Obama may depart this summer from his road-warrior tour of election-battleground states to take a trip around the world, one intended to shore up his credentials on foreign policy.

I cant take it even if he speaks. How hard 'll'it be to endure 'airplanes and ticket counters flying outto Ronald Reagan airport' in written word?

    OT but McCain related

McCain is a Republican with big credibility issues BUT right now the Dems have a bigger issue with a Zell MIller wanntabe--Joe Lieberman. It is time to officially kick Lieberman out of all Dem caucuses.

it probably wasn't important to mccain
it probably didn't matter, to him

either that or double-agent davis was the cleanest republican mcstain could find.

Somebody should spring Jack Abramoff out of jail and give him a place in the campaign.

McCain is already "informally chatting" with Karl Rove, so if Davis leaves perhaps McCain can bring in Ken Mehlman to replace him. I can't wait to see who McCain names as him running mate. I'm hoping it will be someone like George "macaca" Allen or Rudy "the fire fighter's friend" Guiliani. Who in the world would be desperate enough to accept the VP spot in a campaign so clearly destined to fail? The only thing McCain has going for him in selecting a running mate is that no matter who it is, he/she has to make McCain look good by comparison. Which is how he ended up being the default Republican presidential candidate in the first place.

The answer is easy, and explains why so many will pursue being McCain's VP.

Apart from the possibility that they might get elected, the other reason is that this person, assuming he/she makes a good impression on Republicans and doesn't hurt the ticket, would likely become the frontrunner for the 2012 nomination. The GOP has a weak bench at the moment (assuming Jeb Bush doesn't run, and even then it could be weak), and Tim Pawlenty or Rep. Rob whatshisname from Ohio or even Bobby Jindal could be catapulted into a leading position.

    ...violated [the] anti-espionage act...

isn't that a requirement to being a good republican ??

Imagine a world with no Republicans in it.... ahhhhh...

Actually we CAN see a world without Republicans on TV tonight: The Tony Awards are on at 8pm.

McCain is a mess. He is all over the place on issues and his campaign staff is full of lobbyist. His staff has worked for anybody who is willing to pay their price. McCain is a bought and paid for candidate.

Great-grampa McSame is so mentally confused at this point he probably can't tell the difference between a lobbyist and a campaign manager. But he does recognize the nice nurse who brings him his medications.

Retire Great-grampa McSame for his own good before he wanders off and gets lost or something.

I call on the Republican Party to disband itself, immediately.

Just goes to show what poor judgment McCain has.

    1) It's all part of McCain's strategery to distance himself from the Bush Administration. He went against the NSC warning, proving his maverickness.

    2) It's OK because Bush looked into Pootie-poot's soul and so anything Russian is now OK.

    3) Republicans are exempt from ethics regulations, actual conflicts of national security, and logical consistency.

I also wonder about Great-grampa McSame's policy toward Asia. Particularly Hanoi.
Has Great-grampa McSame put away the Viet Nam war? Or is he just itching to send Hanoi a Forget-Me-Not 500 pound reminder?
Since he doesn't know the difference between Sunni and Shinola how's he going to tell the difference between Baghdad and Hanoi?

Anyone watching the new Fareed Zakaria show on CNN? This guy is pandering like crazy to the Right. He just had on two guests repeating the Bush Iraq meme line by line saying that Obama would be crazy to withdraw. Now he has on another guest poo-pooing global warming (without anyone challenging him). WTF has happened to CNN?
  • OlderAndWiser · 1 year ago
Zakaria is a Mumbai, India native raised in a political (father)/press (mother) affluent household, who went to Yale and Harvard. He's a Neocon first and foremost, although he now describes himself as a "centrist" and internationalist.

Look out. Neocons may pose, but they never change.

What does the word "meme" mean? I've never heard this word in my life, yet suddenly this weekend I've read it about 6 times.
