It's called projection. Republicans do it all the time. Not just in politics, but in their personal lives.

i really think barack should lead an effort to table this bailout for 42 days, and make the election about who should administer the bailout and how. that would make good sense, and make the election about mccain's incestuous ties to the industry.
Don't worry . . . Pelosi, Reid, and other Wimpocrats will cave in shortly. They always do.

The hearing before the Senate Fiance Committee is going on on C-Span 3.
THE PUBLIC DOES WANT THE BAILOUT. If the dems pass this bailout in ANY form, Obama loses the White House. Only Bush, Wall Street and the limousine liberal cowards that lead the democratic party in Congress considering bailout passage want a bailout.
As posted on the thread below, a large majority of the repubs will not vote for the bailout for whatever reason, but primarily because they plan on using bailout plan passed, even one with the bells and whistles proposed by dems including mortgage releif for homeowners, bankruptcy note reformation, executive pay provisions, and government equity in private corporations, and then use it to distance from BushCo and call more taxes, more big governmewnt and succumbing to "bailout mania".
Even an incoherent senile McCain can adopt a populist no big government, no big money Wall Street welfare momma ticket. Rest assured he will if a bailout succeeds before the election.
Why is it that everytime a difficult situation arises the stupid fucking cowards in the democratic party go screaming around like a bunch of screaming queeny chicken littles hands flailing and babbling nonsene in the air like Palin at a Pentacostal church service? Moreover, why is the democratic party's solution to every problem more government and throwing ungodly taxpayer dollars at the problem?
The need to pass more stringent regulation can wait, however, the real core problem facing the industry today cannot be solved by government. Only the market can solve this leveraged crap piled a mile high over years. The market must determine what happens to the system and if it fails we will rebuild anew with new regulations. The Taxpayers do not assume the risk of the success of private companies.
What makes the dems think they can cut a "deal" that benefits taxpayers with only a week of review and reliance on the very intelligent shysters that drove us into the ditch? They simply cannot and telling the American people that they can is UTTER AND COMPLETE BULLSHIT.
Obama's campaign better be aware, otherwise they will watch and learn the hard way.

All this puts me in mind of a faculty search at a Big Ten university back in the 1960s. The goal was to establish a publishing poet of international repute as a professor and resident poet in one of the literature programs. A world-wide search ensued, costing quite a bit to bring in representative poets from around the world to enterview and give poetry readings to the graduate students.
After the intensive search was finished and the committee met, they unanimously discovered that the most fitting candidate for the distinguished professor was . . . drum roll, please . . . the Dean's wife.
My point? There is no level of society where Republicans are not already entirely corrupt.
Nationalize the US banking system? Well the bailout is excatly this but we first give a few trillion to others outside the banking system.

I just want to forward you an e-mail from Steve Schmidt: "You're in the tank". Holding McCain responsible for anything is the partisan mercenary work of a biased media trying to destroy a POW and woman. Besides they've spent all this time trying to blame Obama for Fannie and Freddie, stop negating all their hard work with easily verified facts.
