And always was it thus. This country has always wanted that oil, and we didn't want to have to buy it. We wanted to steal it. As Rachel Maddow said last night on Kieth, Bush/Cheney see Iraq as an "oil colony". That's nailing it. The west as been trolling around Iran, Iraq and Saudi Arabia like street corner muggers ever since the 20's. There are tons of people in their 50's and 60's who went to American high schools over there who can't understand why they shouldn't be able to go back for their reunions since that oil is rightfully ours and not theirs.
