AMERICAblog: McCain actually thinks 16-month timetable is "a pretty good timetable"

  • paulbot5 · 1 year ago
why does iraq matter now that the democrats will pass the housing bill which costs as much or more than iraq :\
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
paulbot 5 needs to realize who allowed this financial disaster to develop and the potential further damage. Mr Phil Gramm from the outside and the "free" market Bush/Cheney administration from within created the monster which now gets absurd criticism from paulbot 5. No Republican Responsibility is the mantra of paulbot5.

Who told this guy to "smile more". That creepy grin is killing me. I can't stand to look at him anymore. He came across better when he was stern-faced (not that I'd vote for him in a million years). That yellow teeth, forced grin is worse than Bush's smirk (did I just say that?).

    it's Cindy's drugs...

i think McCain is almost ready to endorse Obama!

    ---

that's because there's an evil brain behind that grin.

chimpy's grin is about the same as a happy Labrador... not much of a brain behind it.

mccain's grin is like cheney's... If cheney smiled directly at you, you'd have to wonder if you're going to live to see the next day.

Pentagon Confirms That It Told Obama He Couldn't Visit Army Base With Campaign Staff

WTF? Why didn't just lie up a storm denying it and then delete the previous emails?
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
this is the Pentagon... not the White House.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
    And your point is?
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
There is no distinction to be made and Jeff needs to know this. Politicization of ALL agencies of the federal government by the Bush/Cheney regime make them all political extensions of the Republican Party. This administration continues to damage the foundations of our government.

    i am CONFUSED.

does he or does he not support the timetable, he went from i know maliki he won't to it IS A GOOD TIMETABLE, I am confused.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
I'm REALLY confused... now the withdrawl is based on "conditions on the ground".

I thought mccain said everything's peachy over there? if its going so well over there, then what's up with slamming Obama for wanting a timetable?

okay... we might be there for 50, maybe even a 100 years... but if they want us to leave in 16 months, we'll leave... depending on conditions on the ground... which are supposed to be great based on what he tells us about Iraq... but we still might be there for 100 years.

he spins so fast I get dizzy listening to him.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
What " conditions on the ground" is he constantly talking about? With the military now surpressing news out of Iraq how can " conditions on the ground " be assessed? Of course, that may be just the subterfuge for 50-100 years more of occupation if " conditions on the ground" require more patience, blood and treasure.

Why doesn't McCain just give it up and offer to be Obama's Vice President?
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
    ugh.... no way.

mccain's JUST about trustworthy enough to take care of the garden... with dull gardening tools, just in case.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
Rufus what are you drinking? Even in jest this is a revolting thought.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
McShrub should just go ahead and concede.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
if he loses this election (and I HOPE he does)... he's going to vote with the Dems on everything.

why? spite... none of the repugnicans he WORKS with even like him (well, off camera anyway)... and if the voters don't vote for him?

voting with the Dems would be the final 'fuck you' to all repugnicans.

I could totally see it happen... and they'll call him a 'maverick' again, without realizing there's a reason. spite.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
Soundboy-Jeff: Are you predicting a Lieberman scenario? If the Democrats can win a veto-proof congressional majority the McCains and Liebermans will be on no import.
  • Polly_Tics · 1 year ago
If McCain is basing everything by "conditions on the ground", than why:

    * is he not agreeing that we need to leave Iraq within the next 16 months (or so) because the "Surge" did so well?

    * has he not been actively engaged in getting more troops into Afghanistan since that country has demonstrated the most violence and active growth of the Taliban and al Qaeda?

    * is McCain's health care proposal increasing taxes on the Middle Class. when that class is the hardest hit and showing the most signs of horrendous decline? His plan would eventually force every household to pay higher taxes on their health insurance and undermine employer-based coverage leaving over 55 million Americans WITHOUT ANY kind of health insurance plus about 16 million Americans would lose any health benefits they currently get from their employers.

    * would he INCREASE THE NATIONAL DEBT since our current debt is at record levels? McCain's promises are estimated to cost an additional $2.8 trillion, thus adding enormously to the public debt. A McCain administration would have to institute a radical and unprecedented downsizing of government just to balance the budget .

    * does McCain have a Tax plan that gives almost none or very modest benefits to the bottom 80% of taxpayers. SOME lower-income taxpayers may benefit from the large cuts in corporate income, MOST of the benefits go to those at the top. BIG SURPRISE there!

  • ron071 · 1 year ago
McCain is too feeble to be able to recognize his constant policy changes or he is an example of a pathological liar. Something is very wrong with him and the Republicans must realize it. Perhaps they will invent some illness and dump him at convention time.
