Again, McCAin didn't vet Palin properly, even in his own defense.
Stepping on the backs of those who have supported her politically has been Palin's program throughout her politcal career. Ask the Repubs big wigs who supported her mayor or governor campaigns, they got p'wned.
McCain is reaping what he sowed.
Unfortunately, we'll also have to battle Palin for decades to come when the American public gets amnesia about her qualifications.

The only thing that damaged Mooselini is her own big mouth and ego. (BTW, has anyone ever heard Todd say a word? My neighbor thinks he's actually wearing the skirt, metaphorically, not her and that she has the penis. Just role reversal, not role equality at all.)
Yes, indeedy, McBush did decide on her with his little head...

Palin is not going to far out of the gate for the 2012 presidential primaries.
I think she is going to have a tough time winning a re-election for the governorship of Alaska, given she has turn into far right robot that she didnt' run in 2006.
The Republican Party of 2010 is going to be much different than the one right now. Whoever is the Chairperson of the RNC will have much influence about fundraising and favoritism.
Palin doesn't have the organization, the donors, the PACs, the staff to be taken seriously for a campaign.

okojo
A Palin/Gingrich ticket will be called the Republican Kamikaze ticket of 2012... Anyway Gingrich would never accept being VP. Palin would be insane to have one of the most shameless backstabbers since Lorenzo de Medici.
The Republican Party will be different in 2010, they should have different candidates for many of the bellwether districts and states.
In 2012, the Republicans have two choices that 1936 and 1964 Republicans, and the 1972 and 1984 Democrats decided to take the wrong route. They rather be self righteous than in power.
Basically they have to control the right wing, and the right wing has to bite its tongue and be tolerant of more moderate candidates.

Probably not the next leader of the party, but a good bet for a third party candidate in 2012. Running with the support of the nut wing as they abandon/are abandoned by the GOP.
The Republican party will be in disarray for some time to come. The warring factions will start eating one another by mid-November and by January it will be a cannibals' feast.
The fiscal conservatives will likely win control of the party, but the Palinist wing will not go quietly. It's not inconceivable that a Palinist third party could carry half of Dixie and a state or two in the Mountain west, thereby assuring Obama's re-election and probable Democrat control for another 8 years after that. Of course, by that time the democratic cannibals will have broken out their own knives and forks and we'll be back in the shit again.
okojo
The Republicans need two things in 2010. Money and Independents. They need to re-energize their fundraising. Whoever is going to be head of the RNC will be a big influence on which candidates will be selected in 2010.
If the Republicans get fiscal conservatives with some moderate to libertarian views and some scraps thrown to the right wing, they should do okay, but some of the damage in the House of Representatives for the Republicans will take years to fix. Also voters are reacting to the problems now, and the problems in 2010 will be different. All the right wing noise machines can't cover up the serious problems the US is facing right now..

SouthernYankee
McCain should have vetted her friends who helped her up the ladder than she pushed them down when she got what she wanted. He saw a pretty girl with nice legs and bam he was hooked.
We in Alaska are also shocked and dismayed at the revealings of our Governor McPalin. It's important for people "Outside" to know that votes for her were more AGAINST the former governor, Frank Murkowski, than FOR Palin, per se. Little did we know that she would turn out to be far worse than anyone imagined... What is most repugnant is how McSame handlers who never set foot in AK are now speaking as the 'source' of information on all fronts - as if they suddenly have become authorities on all things Alaskan, especially the 'facts' of AK/McPalin issues!
Note the AP stories in the past two days on the shocking number of unqualified friends and donors McPalin appointed to high offices in her administration - and how cronyism played a huge role in the proposed TransCanada gas line! (Which may never be built because McPalin and her pals failed to get the ok from the First Nations tribes in Canada for the pipeline to traverse their land. They were never even consulted and are pissed!!) Palin's demands of 'loyalty above all else' are far beyond Bush/Cheney. And like them she will look you in the eye and lie, lie, lie - and believe it's true because she said it!
Most scary are the latest revelations about McWitchy's fanatic religious beliefs. Think Salem witch trials....See the NY Times today for more on that. And can you imagine if Obama's wife/family had lifelong ties to a militant secessionist group like the AK Independence Party?! They would be hammered by the media for that. Palin gave a 'heartwarming' address to the AIP just two years ago!
McPalin will come back to a very frosty reception in Alaska - she will undoubtedly be censured for all her lies and perhaps impeached.
It's laughable to think this uneducated, inarticulate pathological liar has a 'bright future' on the national political front, as so many neo-cons believe. She has shown that she is McToxic - and we are just beginning to see the truths bearing that out. Yup Yup....
mckathiki
I'm almost afraid to post this but does anybody think it's possible that McCain's advisors will push to dump Palin from the ticket in some palatable fashion; add a better known, more qualified Repug; and be able to pull out of the doldrums, maybe even win come election day? Maybe I'm just so nervous and worried that I'm imagining things...what do y'all think? And thanks to the poster from Alaska for setting the record straight - I'm real glad to hear that Palin doesn't really represent you.
sukabi1
it's too late for him to do that... he'd end up looking like a complete and utterly incompetent fool -- which given the current circumstances of his campaign would be quite the accomplishment... and would likely lead to members of his own party coming in with straight-jackets and butterfly nets to haul the lot of them off...
mckathiki
I think you're right and I sure do hope so. It's just that the current administration and the Repugs striving to take their place give me the old-fashioned "heebie jeebies". I know if they win it will be me singing, "They're coming to take me away...to the funny farm..."
sukabi1
I'm not sure, but I think that with early voting currently going on in quite a number of states that changing the ticket is out of the question... not just because it would be monumentally STUPID, but because many voters have already cast their votes for which TEAM they'd like.... and changing up the players at this point would render the previously cast votes / voters into an "unknown 'what about these votes' zone" ...
There you go - I didn't even think about the fact that early voting had started, even though my husband and I voted on the first day here in Texas! I guess this election is really stressing me out. I agree with you about the interference from current admin. - already using the Justice Dept. and FBI - and I'm sure they'll figure more out. We really have to be vigilant. Thanks for putting my mind back on the right track...
