AMERICAblog: McCain and Lieberman call Obama un-American. Will Obama respond?

Joe Lieberman acts like a girlfriend with "my boyfriend is so tough" stories

lol loserman is the very definition of a putz. It's right there online dictionary.com when you look up the word putz, there's his mug.
  • bluestockton · 1 year ago
Loserman reminds me of the story about the man and the snake. You know, the man picks up the snake, it bites him, and the snake says "you knew what I was when you picked me up." I cannot understand why the voters in Connecticut voted for him when they knew he was a snake.
  • cayuse · 1 year ago
You could call him single minded, too. As long as you realize Israel is his real constituents

Hopefully Obama will pick Clark for VP. The repugs are so afraid that Obama will choose Clark and that is why they jump all over Clark for a remark they know was not intended to be what the repugs insisted it was. Obama and Clark then need to tell mcshame to shove his "hero" title up his f**king ass!

Unfortunately power lies in the hands of a few idiots, not in the hands of common sense
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
All republicans have a piggish little demon inside them.
  • cayuse · 1 year ago
Don't like to stick to titles, but this is a hard one after 8 years of Bush and more 15 years of a party line. Piggish would explain "what is mine is mine and yours is mine too", War is great as long as you make the policy only without the service. Don't water to the thirsty, medicine to the dying or rescue to the Katrina Survivors, etc. Piggish fits
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Every single one has a piggish little demon inside them they try to hide.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Sometimes, I get paranoid and it enters my thinking that they may be the result of biological experiments by alien abductions that's been going on for millions of years up to now. That piggish behaivor is more reptillian like the aliens than mammals. If you've ever researched the history, as recorded, these aliens are only interested in our biology. Not our history or politics. Etc. Maybe they're blending with us and we see it in republicans. Sorta dumb hive behaivor. Just saying. And if that's the case, not much can be done.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Maybe it's like a slow creep of Invasion of the Body Snatchers with republicans. That's the best explanation I have for the way they are.
  • cayuse · 1 year ago
In this case I think it has more to do what their daddies did. If they were republican, then they are too. Unfortunately most of these republican did not even like their daddies

When I was 4 and my brother 8. He traded my cap guns for pipes, then put them on the wall so all could see. When he was dieing of cancer and he and I sat in front of his cabin. I said you know I am different than you, so tell me what is fairness and how would you make it happen.

He said its simple I cut the cake and you get first choice or you cut the cake and I get first choice.

They know the difference, they choose to take and have. Ego vs. Spirit. Some of us "are in the world, but not of it" other are still trying to stuff their materialism inside the eye of a needle" or "buy their stairway to HEAVEN"

glasses_guy look at Maslow's Hierarchy of Need. Some people do not mature beyond the basic needs of life. Realize we are actors on the stage of life and all we can change is how we play the game. Owning more marbles does not make you good at playing marbles, you just have more marbles

After one week in the Military in 1966, I decided I would define what an American meant to me. Nothing has changed
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
It's so insulting to so many in the military to be called un-American.
  • cayuse · 1 year ago
In the military some people get smarter while other play follow the leader. The smart ones learn to look like they are following the leader when they are really surviving.
  • bumpkis · 1 year ago
Lieberman...the biggest Israeli-firster in Congress (or tied with Schumer) calling someone else un-American?

    That's choice.
  • iamevolved · 1 year ago
I think you meant Israeli-FISTER!!! I have a response for McSame and Loserman...FUCK YOU!!! Assholes.
  • cayuse · 1 year ago
Now, now we all are agreeing. no need for harsh words. Actions would be better, but what can we do when voting "is like pissing in the wind" with all of the think tanks, lobbying groups, two party power, etc. Follow our own hearts as we are doing hear, I guess.
  • iamevolved · 1 year ago
Of course, you are correct. But still........
    :)
  • Grimmlok · 1 year ago
I'm still amazed that after Gore, Kerry, and now Obama the Dems still haven't clued into this simple tactic.

Stop playing on the defensive. Stop 'responding' for a change.

Attack the shit out your opponent! God.

Bunch of weak willed tards up in this bitch.
  • cayuse · 1 year ago
"The best offense is a defense" is true. But wouldn't it be nice to hear more words about fairness, honesty, free choice and independent right? Oops, that got Obama here. Hope he does not forget that we want to here and he needs to continue to speak the truth. Opinion is not truth and truth is not opinion. Just like a "bad tree cannot give forth good fruit". Playing with idiots is playing with idiots. Yes, say all the things they did and do wrong is speaking the truth. But speak the truth and leave their opinion to themselves. America KNOWS!

These bozos will continue to call Obama names and even write book filled with LIES. Why? Well because they are republiCONs that's why.

And of course the books with smears and LIES will come out. One guy who apparently is a Swiftboat LIAR - here's a photo:

    http://topics.nytimes.com/top/reference/timesto...

    The guy is CREEPY.

Obama staff would do well to start attacking him, McCrazyCain of course, and all the other LYING cockroaches in the republiCON party.
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Oh man, Corsi is the most VILE of them all. The creep is all over the place and an idiot of the first order. He was attacking Kerry before the election and then he's bewildered that bush has issued orders for a police state. Then he's on saying that "we" must not attack Iran, the next week he's on Coast say we must attack Iran. He's on Coast all the time and given air time and he's totally contradictory of himself each time. I've emailed the host about it and he hasn't been on in while.
  • MoonDragon · 1 year ago
And just which country was Mr. Lieberman referring to? The US? The amorphous supernation populated by the corporati? A slice of land on the Eastern edge of the Mediterranean?
  • txstevo · 1 year ago
Unfortunately the answer is NO, they will not call out McCain's camp for their smears. Obama will mistakenly continue to "take the high road." The lies will begin to stick and before you know it Obama will be swiftboated.
  • Tapekx · 1 year ago
You're absolutely right and it drives me insane every day that I see this going unanswered. Even if Obama does not want to directly attack the smears, by god, he should be making ads that go through McCain's flip flops, one by one, and go through a " this is what the world McCain wants would look like" including Women loosing all rights to control their own bodies... It drives me crazy to see McCain catching him in the poles when McCain would be so disasterous for this nation... Obama must begin to speak out on this or he will loose via SwifBoat - the sequal...
  • Pancho · 1 year ago
The only problem with that is the public has bad reactions when Black men are angry or even just extra forceful. That's why Jackie Robinson had to be MORE of a man by not reacting those first few years of his baseball career. So it becomes a catch 22. I think Obama has the oratorical skills to defend himself but its a tricky game, influenced by the crappy responses the last Men in his situation had to those attack. The second he response to something like that the right will spin the look at his anger issues he's uncontrolable...
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Bullshit. I would tell him he's a bigoted sorry sack of shit for questioning his patriotism because he's black.
  • jester · 1 year ago
If I were Obama, here is how I would respond: For the last eight years we have heard the false assertion that Democrats, Progressives, and Liberals are unpatriotic. This is absolute nonsense! How dare anyone impune the patriotism of a fellow citizen for political gain. It is unAmerican to falsely imply and accuse someone of treason. McCain's team of advisors have chosen to paint me with this ugly brush. I will not allow these charges to go unanswered. My strong record of supporting the troops, my strong interest in ethics reform, my strong opposition for an ill advised war are all keenly patriotic. Patriotism is love of country, love of home, as this is my home, I have stepped forward to serve my country; to organize people to improve neighborhood conditions, to serve in the Ill. legislature and the US Senate to make a difference in our country. I will stand still any longer for their slander against my character. As someone who has demonstrated my patriotism I demand an apology from the McCain campaign and from any in the media who enable these unwarranted charges.
  • Upland_Oddball · 1 year ago
It all comes down to Barack's unwillingness to cut Hillary and Bill down to size. Even at this late date, the Clintons are being entirely two faced.
Simultaneously, they are sending signals that they plan on being cooperatve with the Obama campaign, while sending other signals that there die hard supporters need a forum to further vent and bitch.
Hillary lost because she has NO ABILITY to pick competent, team foucsed, loyal campaign staff. As the recently leaked memos and emails show, it was a Freak Show of backbiting and undercutting,
two steps forward and 11/2 steps back. But she and her supporters still think that she was a rightful and deserving queen, robbed of her rightful prize. She needs to be fully called out, and Obama
won't do it. That of course, emboldens McCain, who regards all women as something that needs to be "controlled" in a manner like John Wayne controlled Maureen O'Hara by chasing her down in front of
the entirel community and humiliating her with a public spankng. Because Obama coddles Hillary, McCain heaps deirision on him. Even though it will please the misogynist in McCain, Hillary has a dressing down coming,
and Obama had better get to it before she embarrasses him in Denver before the nation.

I said at the time they were opening the door to racism that we would be seeing later with the GOP. Now we see.

How do we know John will still be there for his country? He was in a position to be brainwashed during his five years in Hanoi. NV was then a Soviet client state. How convenient that his grasp for power is coincident with the resurgence of Russia.

seriously... if Obama were to play dirty politics, he could just have a picture of mcsame and fade in the words "The Manchurian Candidate".

of course, they'd slam him for attacking mcsame's "Heroism".
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
MoonDragon: I've longg considered McSame the Manchurian Candidate. His strings are firmly in Rovian hands.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
In them, Lieberman said that the choice in this election is "between one candidate, John McCain, who has always put the country first, worked across party lines to get things done, and one candidate who has not."
    ---

okay... who would consider mcsame's working with lieberman "working across party lines"??!?!

lieberman hasn't changed to a repug MAINLY because the repug party name is radioactive... it has nothing to do with his politics.

john mcsame? voted against the troops how many times???

    how are THOSE votes "American"??
  • cayuse · 1 year ago
I do not think the grunt in Viet Nam would compare his duty their the same as a Pilot who could push buttons and kill thousands without looking one in the eye as the same sacrifice. Although spending 5 years in the Hanoi Hilton was really grunt work.

These are character issues, but to be President you should demonstrate quick thinking, sound moral judgemnt, compassion, and a sense for all mankind (after all we are all floating through space are we not and there is no way out)

But unfortunately I have to stick with the word "Napalmer" myself. I can not find anything else
  • hailtothethief · 1 year ago
I wouldn't make the assumption that Obama won't fire back. Up until this point, he has consistently done so against these types of attacks by Hillary and Repubs. And taking the "high road" is a good thing. It's precisely why so many people like him. The things a candidate says have more weight when they are based on substance and the candidate isn't a sleaze bag.
  • lucky hussein · 1 year ago
    I disagree that a sign of a man is to show his 'inner asshole', however I do believe it's neccesary for amertican presidential politics in 2008;
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
Cheney.is.stone.cold.crazy. And he's doing things quietly and secretively in CrazyLand of his own dellusions. I don't see us breaking free for our humanity without alot of bloodshed they will do to us. Be crazy for us like Patton. But he's somewhere else and it's all about his ideology. Wingnuts put them in there. Just prepare.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
so... what're the odds that lieberman winds up as mcsame's VP choice?

now THAT'D piss off the religious right... I think I answered my own question.

the odds are MUCH higher that he was promised a cabinet post... sec. of state maybe?
  • cayuse · 1 year ago
The best thing that could happen to the Democratic Party. I am in favor. All politics and power aside. Unfortunately, the Republican Party can buy the best that money can buy and they have so much to choose from. While the democrats might be the best people and the best for a working man. What chance do they really have?
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
okay... who has time for a photoshop assignment?

take lieberman's picture, and combine it with Quark from DS9... lieberman is a Ferrengi, he'd sell his mother for latinum.
  • lilybart · 1 year ago
The only sane response at this point is to take both of them into a dark alley and beat the crap out of them.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
lilybart: Too bad this is not possible. However, I believe that the Obama
campaign will hit back effectively when the time is right. They have run an optimum campaign thus far
and just like they defeated the Clinton machine tactics they
will effectively put McSame in his place but not with self-proclaimed heroes
and patriots. FOR MORE PAIN.........VOTE McSAME
  • moreleesafer · 1 year ago
He needs to respond but not in an "angry" sort of way. If he does, he runs the risk of looking like a
militant black man. Angry, militant, educated black men scare the crap out of the average Southern Bubba
and makes the higher class white folks such as corporate Americans nervous.

I am extremely proud that he is taking the high road, however, America needs to see that he has more in
his arsenal than just a good defense. My personal motto is: Pray for peace, but prepare for war.
I don't remember who said it, but it has served me well.
So he needs to be careful how he responds. He needs to show he has the gumption to kick butt if necessary.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago

McCain and his Rovian thugs did nothing to Wes Clark except protest his truth. He never retracted the truth he spoke and we all know about self-proclaimed heroes and their imagined qualifications for anything because they are self-proclaimed heroes. Where are the military records of this hero? Where are his medical records? Where is the " missing " adulterer/lobbyist? A true hero is one who allows his rrecorrds to be seen by all and does not hide his less than honarable exploits in uniform or out.
  • cayuse · 1 year ago
Kind of like JFK. He went on to do great things after the war, before his presidency, during his presidency and the truth lives on. No matter how republicans try to cover it up. All most like they try to build up Reagan when they cannot

Well friends I called Senator Lierman's office today and spoke with a nice guy. I told him how disappointed I was that Lierman called Obama unamerican and was also insulted by Taco Bell commerical insulting people making under $40,000. I told him that people aren't stupid and can see through these ads. I also called Sen McCain office spoke with a rude women and I told her that same thing and before I could even finish she tried to cut me off and I told her I wasn't finished and she said she had other calls. I than told her I could understand why some people wouldn't vote for McCain and I told her she was rude and she hung up on me.
So friends call 202-225-0100 and ask the young man to transfer you to Lierman's office. Let them know.

So a man is manly only when he shows his inner asshole, eh? Not in my book. We've had enough assholes as presidents. Obama knows that, and that's why I'm voting for him.

I'm getting REAL tired of this. Its time to bloody some noses, Obama.
  • barts · 1 year ago
    From Rove's own playbook:

Phase 1: Smear Obama as a bongo-playing elitist and liken him to Paris Hitlon/Britany Spears.

Phase 2: Play on America's fear and distrust by labeling Obama as an inexperienced "black" muslim with a heritage associated with terrorists.

Phase 3: Total all-out no-holds-barred attack on Obama's credibility, leadership, race, and presonality. Spon-feed the media on false rumors that Obama eats children and makes bombs and will lead our country into total financial chaos.

Were currently in Phase 2 of our program.
  • barts · 1 year ago
Phase 4: Screw around with the voting machines.
  • mirth · 1 year ago
When Obama came from political nowhere to face off against the Clinton corporate mega-machine, did he get down in the mud to "fight back" against her and her surrogate's (including a popular ex-prez) smears? Did he attack or did he let her implode all on her own?

Did people, in historic numbers, flock to every one of his campaign speeches?

Did he beat her to win the nomination?
  • Hannah · 1 year ago
LIEberman and McCain are LIARS. Obama has worked on legislation with Republican Senators: Lugar, Hagel, Brownback, Coburn, Smith and even McCain! (off the top of my head)

Give 'em heck, Obama. They are truly disgusting.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago

  • Fireblazes(CheetohsandCatfood) · 1 year ago
So far no evidence of cajones. I am getting kind of worried. Republicans make negative attacks because they work. Talk about being above the fray all you want. But what Hillary did is no where close to what the repubs have just started doing. It is also different when a man calls you out.

Even worse there is talk of Chuck Hagel as VP, if any repub is chosen I will not vote.
