It's HILARIOUS reading some of the comments in the link above defending McCrazyCain.

OK, I know for a fact that more than half of those defending him are TROLLS with the "cut and paste" nonsense. Now really, do they really think coming to liberal/progressive/Democratic blogs is going to change anything for them.

It is not. But "hey", it sure provides comic relief for all of us as most of the trolls are too stupid to defend their losing candidate.

McCrazyCain is digging himself a deeper whole just about every day.

    CAUGHT ... red handed!
    Living it and loving it.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Yeah, the way their "logic" has been stretched, twisted, and tortured you'd think the commenters were McCrazy's top campaign advisers....
  • Kansaskitty · 1 year ago
Credibility? What credibility? Wow, the hits just keep on coming! His campaign is in complete disarray.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Question for the upcoming debate: Senator McCain, you've accused ACORN of being a radical group that's involved with radicals and has engaged in voter fraud... What was the exact point they became a "radical group" in your opinion -- was it in 2006 at the immigration event you spoke at?

And a follow up question: As an organization that is bound by law to turn in all voter registrations they collect and to flag the problematic registrations -- which they have done -- where exactly is the merit to the "voter fraud" accusation your campaign has leveled against their group??

even his "little John" hangs to his right. that's interesting.

I call on the Republican Party to disband, without delay.
  • EmGD · 1 year ago
I love the way ACORN tried to twist the knife ”We are sure that the extremists he is trying to get into a froth will be even more excited to learn that John McCain stood shoulder to shoulder with ACORN, at an ACORN co-sponsored event, to promote immigration reform,"

great post on the importance of calling out fux news et al on the ACORN smears:

this pic of McCain at ACORN - alone - could ruin the GOPer smear attempt...spread it around.

He can always just re-set the campaign again tomorrow -- start every day anew.

Hypocritic, racist, womanizing, pandering, spoiled brat, with Alzheimers disease. Did I forget anything?
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
    yes, you forgot "kept man"

Amazing. First Christopher Buckley now Christopher Hitchens endorses Obama! Hitch is devastating on his statement on the disasta from Alaska!

hitchens is still a drunk, neocon waste of a man.

but hey, i'll take his vote.
  • Kansaskitty · 1 year ago
Yes, I agree that Hitch is a pompous & arrogant ass, but I do enjoy reading his work as he is always scintillating whether one agrees with him or not. I'm sure he'll be one of the first ones to criticize a President Obama, but I'll take his endorsement & vote any day!
  • annatopia · 1 year ago
oh yea, i'll take his vote.

    still think he's a douchenozzle, though. ;^)

I think McCain’s straight-talk express derailed a long time ago, and this is just another nail in the coffin. God every time he seems to open his mouth everything that comes out is BS. I’m just so glad the public doesn’t seem to be buying into it this time.
  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
To those right-wingers that demand proof that McCain attended this event, just show them this picture and tell them to look in the crowd for the whitest guy. It may take them a while but they'll eventually fess up that it does appear McCain was there.

Someone needs to edit the Wikipedia entry on ACORN which reads:
In October 2008, the John McCain campaign released a web-based ad suggesting ACORN was partly responsible for the 2008 economic crisis. ACORN pushed back on this accusation via its website, calling the spot "a smear ad."[62]

I would add the update, but I don't have access
  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
I don't do that wikipedia stuff either but very good to spot that and bring it up. If you have a dailykos ID, post that info on an open thread there also. It'll get taken care of stat.
  • SDBear · 1 year ago
I don't have a DKOs account unfortunately -- but good thought.

    Thanks.

This business of accusing ACORN of criminally registering illegals is the very worst in lies, distortions and, and, and ... Republicanism. It is unspeakably dishonest, undemocratic and un-American. Makes manifest the Republican claims about bringing democracy to the world.
  • MNUSA · 1 year ago
With more and more scrutiny of voting machines and less and less influence in state governments, it's getting harder and harder for the Repubs to cheat and win. This must be their next strategy - shut down ACORN from registering poor people. If the Democrats win, they can tie it up in courts and convince the 19% who approve of the Repub policies that the Democrats used big, bad ACORN to cheat. In Minnesota we can register on election day using ID ranging from a driver's license to a utility bill to a neighbor vouching for us. We have high turnout and inconsequential amounts of fraud. Voter records are checked AFTER the election and the occasional person who votes twice because they have property in two different locations and they think they can vote everywhere they own property are removed. Requiring photo ID is a con aimed at reducing the number of poor, elderly, minority and non-English speaking citizens from voting.

Good catch. Acorn is really a very good organization and does lots to correct the injustices that afflict the poor and disenfranchised.
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
ACORN is a bunch of sweet, older ladies who do enormous good. To attack them is so preposterous as to leave me breathless. Only Karl Rove could conceive such evil.
  • buckguy · 1 year ago
Given that Bushite-owned, lobbyist supported (they're just about the only advertisers) Politico ran this, the story might have legs. ACORN should find anyway it can to get this going wall-to-wall.
