AMERICAblog: McCain busts the FEC's spending cap, violating campaign finance law

  • Chris From Maine · 1 year ago
silly Joe.. breaking the law is OK if you are a Republican. Didn't you get the memo?
  • shanobama · 1 year ago
And shortchanging the troops. McCain has not signed onto James Webbs bill yet.

Lets see if McCain really supports the troops. Think the msm will cover that?
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
And, nothing will happen. What will the FEC do? Tell McCain he can't campaign any more? Do you really think they will prosecute? Not after eight years of the current administration breaking the law with no penalties.
  • Deacon_Blues · 1 year ago
Hey, chill! It's alright to break the law (use hookers, pick up cops in bathrooms, steal millions, shoot people in the face, start wars, out CIA agents, be responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people) as long as you're a Republican! It's like a get-out-of-jail-free card! The media doesn't care, so why should we?
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
    Exactly.
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
OT: Anderson Cooper is reporting Obama's passport file has been breached 3 times. Apparently the first incident happened in january and top management supposedly just learned of this/ WTF?
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
Yeah, this has been all over other threads. MSNBC has been covering it fully for a couple of hours, CNN and FOX have hardly touched it.
  • SarainKC · 1 year ago
What have you learned? CNN says this may be a case of overzealous curiosity on the part of the contractors.
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
It seems so. But, in this administration, who knows?
  • Sanders · 1 year ago
I know it's politically incorrect to say this - but Hillary was the first to violate the FEC cap. If you check her funding records as Matt Drudge has done, they reveal quite a story. Both Bill and Hillary have not hesitated to cheat the system and do whatever they can to obtain power. People need to reject their corrupt methods and endorse Obama once and for all. I am so sick of the Clintonista lies and treachery. Let's end the 90's politics of division once and for all. At least Obama is willing to work with the Republicans and incorporate them into his administration. We need to stop the juvenile fighting and unify both Democrat and Republican. We all know decent and well-meaning Republicans and we need to stop demonizing them in the out-dated fashion of the Hillbot idiots. Let's admit it, there are some knowledgable and honorable Republicans who can help us straighten this troubled country out. Let's embrace unity and end the divisiveness of the socialist Clintonistas.
  • Mikki --SE Pennsylvania · 1 year ago
Name ten "decent and well-meaning Republicans!"
Support Obama and leave Bilary and the republicons to wail and gnash their teeth in the dust!
  • Webster · 1 year ago
Will the Corporate-distract-the-people-MSM cover this criminal offense?

Don't pay any attention to me. I'm just sitting here quietly waiting for pigs to fly.

I call bullshit on that whole IOKIYAR business.
  • Vince in Cedar Rapids · 1 year ago
It simply amazes me how little coverage the Painstream Media will give Republican crimes, but they will sure broadcast a Democrat's wrongdoings for weeks and weeks. Simply amazing.
  • Nigel Elliott · 1 year ago
The laws and the Constitution do not apply to Panama John. He'll get away with it and pull a Reagan "I don't recall" routine. It's the Alzheimer's and you can't prosecute crazies.
  • Mikki --SE Pennsylvania · 1 year ago
He not a war hero either except in his own disintegrating mind. He has been sucking on the public teat for his entire life, first as a hotdog in the miliotary and then as a politician, later of course climbing aboard the lobby gravytrain. There was of course that bump in the road known as Keating. But maybe it was the beer money. It was certainly enough to turn a paramour into a trophy wife #2. Insane MCCain is a thoroughly noxious dishonest charlatan to whom lying comes easily. One thing you can be sure of whatever he says HE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND!
  • grandma · 1 year ago
Anderson Cooper back on the racial crap about Obama again.
  • Mikki --SE Pennsylvania · 1 year ago
Well crap is Anderson's stock in trade. Does anyone know anymore about the rumor that anderson is a "dinge queen?" If thats true that would make his attitude even stranger.

Just read this on the comments section at Kos:

The three employees worked for two different companies, according to discussion on Abrams/MSNBC.

Pirate Smile in another thread found indications on DU that one of the companies was CSC, a subsidiary of Dyncorp. I'm looking for corroboration.

    ****

    CSC, which owns DYNCORP:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/...

CSC: CSC WINS STATE DEPARTMENT CONTRACTS VALUED AT $100 MILLION TO ...18-- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) has been awarded two 10-year contracts by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs, ...

    McCain won't go to prison.

They would definltely throw Obama in prison for that, though.

    McCrooked.
  • Nigel Elliott · 1 year ago
Massive corruption like this is why Republicans with some conscience are seeking redemption and flocking over to the Obama campaign. The GOP is worst than the mob.

No doubt, but Shillary is even worse than the mob. We've got to consolidate our forces against her. Even Republicans are joining with us. For God's sake let's not return to the nightmare of the 90's and Slick Willie's perverted ways. Even as a Democrat, I still support the effectiveness and crucial nature of our honorable armed forces. Bill Clinton never understood that and gutted the readiness of our military and cut back veterans benefits to a disgraceful level. Let's never return to those dark days and instead support our heroic military units in Iraq and Afghanistan. Shillary can go to hell with her cut-and-run bs! At least Obama is willing to work with the Republcans in securing the homeland and the values of this great country. "F" Hillary and the horse she rode in on!
  • Tom3 · 1 year ago
Knowingly violating the spending limit is a criminal offense that could put a black guy or a woman at risk of stiff fines and up to five years in prison.

    There, fixed your typo.
  • Mikki --SE Pennsylvania · 1 year ago
It would appear that Insane McCain is easily as much of a crook as the Clintons. If we keep up the pressure perhaps he can win a term in the federal slammer in the criminal basis of violating the spending limit. Goodness knows there are all sort of other offences which qualify him to removed from public circulation. The man is a liar, a charlatan, probably a thief; he is morally bankrupt; if nothing else he should go to jail for hanging out with Greasy Joe Lieberman, a pig that needs no lipstick!
  • Tom3 · 1 year ago
McCain is much more crooked than the Clintons.

He's part of the Repuke Crime Machine, which makes the Clintons look like amateurs. They've been systematically ransacking the government.

reply makes your butt look big.
  • Rustyzipper · 1 year ago
"Is it not possible that Wright was less controversial in 1998 and that the BILL CLINTON (not Hillary) White House invited a prominent, well-respected, moderate religious leader to a large religious gathering?" You can't have it both ways. If Rev. Wright were considered so well-respected in 1998 and perhaps did not become controversial until after that time, that flies in the face of all those who accuse Wright of spewing venom during the 20 years of Obama's membership. Now that the tin can has now been tied to the Clinton tail, Rev. Wright's significance has suddenly been diminished. the new photos of Hilly with Wright will put this all to rest.
I see a big surge for Obama in the next week....

    .
  • Tom3 · 1 year ago
Leave it to a Repuke to bring up Bill Clinton, Wright and Obama in a thread about McCrook.

Nice try, troll. Your candidate is STILL a crook and belongs in prison.

    For five years.
  • Nigel Elliott · 1 year ago
    THE CLINTONS ARE BUSTED! lol

The wording of Mr. Clinton’s thank-you note to Mr. Wright, dated Oct. 28, 1998:
    Dear Pastor Wright:
Thank you so much for your kind message.
I am touched by your prayers and by the many expressions of encouragement and support I have received from friends across our country.
    You have my best wishes.

    Sincerely,

    Bill Clinton

We discussed his eligibility to run for President since he was not natively born. My class concluded he is barred but no one would stop him and the court for political reasons would say it is a nonjusticiable issue.

McCain is a little hypocritical with his violation of campaign finance laws.
"McCain was for campaign finance reform Before he was against it."

    McCrook.

OF course, MooCrazy won't prosecute his pal McCrook.
  • johnosahon · 1 year ago

  • Tom3 · 1 year ago
can you be elected president while you are in prison?

Well I'm sure someone paid good money to have the White House Weasel speak. to the group. Just makes you wonder who and how much they paid. Maybe contributions to Dubya's library??? Then again perhaps the White House flacks figured this was a group who would not ask embarassing questions like the US public. I though he only spoke to invitation-only audiences who contributed to the party or were military and thus more controllable.

This is quite a damaging blast from the past for Clintons. So he was good enough for Bill but not good enough for Barack. What two faced hypocritical nincompoops.

We all saw this coming. Now let's see how many of us see the total disdain McCain has for the law, and how many of us see the money that buys him out of this crime.
  • hauksdottir · 1 year ago
That's not the only campaign law Clinton has broken.

Somebody on her Finance Committee was raiding the credit card accounts (numbers on file) of her staffers... without asking. The amount raided put at least one of them far over contribution limits. Thoughtless thieves!!! They wouldn't give the money back until a police report was filed. Arrogant thieves!!! Pissing off volunteer staffers for instant money? Short-sighted greedy thieves!!!

I voluntarily left the Hillary Finance Committee after I discovered more than $3,000 in unauthorized charges from HRC campaign on my own VISA card! And that set off a wave of overdrafts and $400 in bank charges that I was stuck with. And the compliance officer Allison Wright at Hillary VA headquarters refused to reimburse me for the charges. And the senior finance reps who I notified about more than $3,000 in unauthorized Visa Charges never once aplogized or empathized with my plight, much less sent me a "sorry for all the trouble" note and a check!</blockquote?

    http://bluejersey.com/showDiary.do;jsessionid=9...

We know Clinton is desperate for power, but for money? This is despicable!
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
But, but, but isn't it worse to sit and watch your preacher have some kind of anger based meltdown? Isn't that worse than BREAKING the law? Just watch and see how much air time THIS HUGE ISSUE gets compared to "Howard Dean's shout" or "Obama's Preacher." If this issue even gets a casual mention, I'll be surprised. It is too important and has too much relevance for the media to cover it.
  • Mikki --SE Pennsylvania · 1 year ago
Isn't it past time for the media to make some inquiries about Insane McCain's support from Pastor John Hagee and the outrageous comments he has made. This hateful, nasty, fat, piggy-eyed man is an affront to practising Christians of almost any stripe. I caught him once when I was channel flipping and was totally appalled by his hateful angry face. He is NOT a Christian by any stretch of the imagination and might best be boiled down for soap. I don't know that much about Parsely but he apparently has made comments equally as outrageous. Insane McCain may escape the federal pokey by machinations of fellow republicons, but the media and the public should hold his feet and hands to the fire until he renounces support from these two odious evil men popsing as Christians.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Oh, and I'd much rather sit through Obama's preacher's anger meltdown, knowing it was based on anger from years of racial injustice, than to sit through one of McCain's preachers angrily claim Florida was going to be hit by massive hurricanes because God hate "the gays."
  • MarxMarvelous · 1 year ago
I hate to say I told ya so, but i told ya so. :-) Total straw candidate.
  • Georgfelis · 1 year ago
At present, due to the Dems having a hissy-fit in Congress, there are only 2 out of 6 sitting members of the Federal Election Committee. Since any Official Commission Action requires four votes, that makes it highly unlikely that any “FEC approval” is possible for any candidate to withdraw from the public finance system. Try again.
  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
Wheee! I still exist! Wild new set up here John.

The MSM will handle McCain with kid gloves.
