The Republicans don't mind running a female VP as long as she doesn't sound too confident, imposing, or threatening to men. I am sure Ms Palin, as a devout follower of the word, will know her place.

I don't think it is weird at all. They want the women vote and they believe Palin can deliver it. So we get a "tough" guy speech from McCain and a "little woman" speech from Palin. Just perfect if you are a fundie.

This just proves mccain's own campaign didnt know what was going on with the VP pick. Had palin really been thoroughly vetted you'd think somebody would have known before the pick was announced, but no it was a surprize for everyone. Mccain made Palin his surprize draft pick.

This doesn't surprise me, most pols have someone writing a good portion of the speech and then edit it to personalize it some more. So I don't have a problem with this. I do have a problem with the absolute hypocrisy of Palin.
1] Her daughter does not have a CHOICE in keeping the baby, it was mandated. 2] Palin refused "explicit-sex education" in favor of abstinence-only. Umm, so how come her daughter didn't get this message? So if her daughter didn't get the message "preached" from home, how good is this abstinence-only program? How realistic is its effectiveness? Really, come on. 3] Since her family is a member of Alaska as an independent country, she really does HATE AMERICA, doesn't she? So how can you have a VP that hates America? If she becomes Prez, do you really want an Anti-American running the country?
So many questions, so little answers ...

You shouldn't take this lightly. All she has to do is repeat a prepared speech tailored for her and the misguided. And this will foolishly help increase the myth. From there, 60+ days of careful press coverage.
She does have the speaking experience to accomplish this. Conservative Americans need only hear 30 minutes to maintain their vote. Issues and experience aren't the issue for this woman .
