AMERICAblog: McCain campaign AGAIN uses a Swift Boat Veteran as a campaign surrogate

  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
why is it neocon asshats have these slogans for their groups that are completely contrary to what they actually stand for?

'swift-boat veterans for truth' is one...

    'straight-talk express' is another.

    oh, and "maverick"? yeah, right.

Time to stop treating McThuselah's military service like sainthood. The Repigs sure as hell never gave that respect to Kerry, Gore or Clark.

    From a fellow Hanoi POW:

Why I Will Not Vote For John McCain

Can someone please tell me how most Americans feel we shouldn't have gone to Iraq and should get out, but feel John McCain is better on foreign policy when he was the one who was beating the drums to invade and wants to stay for 100 years. I don't get the polls at all.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
that is a very good question martha.

i think the polls are being used as a partisan tool to a large degree...
  • bumpkis · 1 year ago
I don't think the actual numbers are even close...polls favor those who pay for them.

perhaps Rachel Maddow can connect the dots for the tv viewing public which is blithely unaware of half the shit Our Little Maverick is putting over on them...

Expect this: "How DARE you criticize Bud Day, honorable Medal of Honor winner and former POW?!"
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
I hope they run as many photos of McCain and Bud Day as they can.

I know Repubs think Day is some kind of God, but to anybody who doesn't follow this stuff he looks like another Creepy Old Man, leering behind those tinted aviators.

Why can't they take the straight bull shit express and drop them all off at the retirement home? They are all used up and done, wake up sheep.
  • AdrianBrowne · 1 year ago
    I'd say McCain swiftboated himself.

Bud Day is an American hero. He is also a half senile old right winger who happens to be one of McCain's closest friends. Remember, these old POWs are in their 70s and 80s now and because of years of abuse and poor diet they aren't carrying their years too well. Day must be truly senile if he thinks the Swiftboaters are truth tellers. Even 80 year T Boone Pickens picked it up pretty fast when seriously challenged on his million dollar bet about their truthiness.

Last night I saw a survey that said people thought McCain cared more about Vets then Obama. Where is the Obama people hitting back with an ad showing all McCain's "no" votes for Vets. People don't know about this. I don't get it. I'm so angry watching this. It feels like Kerry again. There should be plenty of TV ads all over and surrogates talking and giving it to McCain. There are so many people out there willing to help and Obama is not taking advantage. Say what you will about Hillary, I heard that she actually wants to help more but Obama is not asking her. Why the hell not. Use everybody you can. This is for the Presidency not class president.

Obama needs to mention the Keating 5 because McCain's supporters from Newt to Ben Stein always praise McCain's character
