I wonder what he will try next. He only has a week.

Republican fears of historic Obama landslide unleash civil war for the future of the party
Aides to George W.Bush, former Reagan White House staff and friends of John McCain have all told The Sunday Telegraph that they not only expect to lose on November 4, but also believe that Mr Obama is poised to win a crushing mandate.

They believe he will be powerful enough to remake the American political landscape with even more ease than Ronald Reagan did in 1980.

The prospect of an electoral rout has unleashed a bitter bout of recriminations both within the McCain campaign and the wider conservative movement, over who is to blame and what should be done to salvage the party's future.

Mr McCain is now facing calls for him to sacrifice his own dwindling White House hopes and focus on saving vulnerable Republican Senate seats which are up for grabs on the same day.</ blockquote>

    epic. failure.

i'm sure McCain will be a big help to the GOPer senators...
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
McCain isn't going to help fellow Republican Senators. I think this is great news because if my take on McCain's character is correct, he is too entitled to want to work for anyone but his own success. If he doesn't win, he will gladly watch the party crash and burn because he will feel like the party let him down. BURN BABY BURN!

I love to see the rethugs suffer.

Unemployment and food stamps....here they come!
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
nope, it would be terribly cruel -- and against their principles -- if they were allowed to partake of government handouts of that sort... They can eat dirt.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Yes, any Republican, who takes unemployment or food stamps is a SOCIALIST! Also, Bush voters must stand at the back of any soup / bread lines. They, of course, got exactly what they voted for. We tried to tell them "trickle down economics" was a bunch of schlock and simply meant socialism for the ultra rich. All Bush supporters should have to pay higher taxes to support the Iraqi War, as well. Am I resentful? Am I still angry about where we would be if the Supreme Court hadn't stolen election 2000? YOU BETCHA!

We all know how the GOPs tell the truth.
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
Mr. McCain, however, has admitted to a string of non-political cattle mutilations across a wide swath of the southwest over several decades...
  • Jim Olson · 1 year ago
    Cow tipping counts as mutilations?
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
depends on what he was pushing them with...
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
The money quote, of course, is when the Vice President of FOX NEWS rightly says that since the McCain camp pushed this story, if it is proven wrong, the "McCain campaign is over FOREVER being linked to race baiting."

They pushed the story. The McCain campaign is race baiters.
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
As it turns out, it wasn't McCain linked to race baiting but Fox News and Matt Drudge. Unfortunately, no one will hold them to it.
After watching the Palin supporters, they will have to stand in line for the worst racist title.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
actually McCain's communications director for his Pennsylvania office pushed this to the media BEFORE the police had confirmed or released any details... and the most incindiary details came FROM HIM... so yes, McCain's campaign pushed and sought to capitalize on this... which makes them race-baiters ...
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
Yes, I understand, but some in the media went with it.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
you know, we really don't have a functioning mainstream media any more... and it's been that way for a very long time... what we have are political operatives feeding propaganda to the masses... so it shouldn't come as any surprise how these "story lines" move from campaign political operative to media political operative and out to radio, newspaper and tv land... really, half the "news readers / pundits / and blow hards that are in the public airwaves stinking it up are married to or are literally fucking the folks they are supposed to be reporting on... or are polishing their lips hoping to be invited to the party...

There seems to be a massive amount of in fighting within the McCain Camp.
McCain does not trust or like Palin.
The reporters covering the McCain Camp are just now picking up on the crumbs surrounding this civil war.

"The prospect of an electoral rout has unleashed a bitter bout of recriminations both within the McCain campaign and the wider conservative movement, over who is to blame and what should be done to salvage the party's future."

I've noticed these idiots were imploding for some time, but also said they won't go quietly, they'll make a huge freaking stink before being relegated to the dustbin of history.
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
Hi, green. Happy to see you. And, yes, they seem to be coming apart at the seams.
  • green_libertarian · 1 year ago
    Good to see you to.

I've never seen so many principled conservatives come out against the Republican ticket before. Then you've got the the Ron Paulites and Bob Barr folks just pounding on McLame's lack of any conviction or judgment.
  • FunMe · 1 year ago
OT: but we can blame that political skank Pelosi who decided to not fulfill her consitutional duties, and refused to impeach bush.

I always new the republiCONs would not leave without a fight. Now look at bush throwing the finger at American democracy:

    http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/...

Bush asks Justice Department to look into Ohio voter-registration dispute: He does so at the behest of House GOP leader John Boehner. The partisan fight centers on discrepancies in state data.
By Mary Pat Flaherty Reporting from Washington October 25, 2008
-- The White House has asked the Department of Justice to look into whether 200,000 new Ohio voters must reconfirm their registration information before Nov. 4, taking up an issue that Republicans and Democrats in the battleground state have been fighting over in court for weeks.

The voter names are in dispute because their registration information conflicts with other official data."

THE GOP IS DESPERATE and is trying anything they can to throw off the elction. Does Obama know about this?
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
Sigh! I can see Bush declaring martial law because of the ACORN fraud in turning in hundred of thousand of fraudent ballots in Ohio alone and who knows how many across the nation, probably billions, trillions and gazillions, the election has been compromised and is invalid. Therefore, Bush has no choice but to suspend the election. Meanwhile, Pelosi and Reid will be busy clucking away under their beds pretending that laying eggs is far, far more important than protecting the sanctity of the American Democracy.

Mmmm. I love the smell of Republicans imploding in the morning.
  • An_American_Karol · 1 year ago
But Gary, it's evening in the City.
  • Gary SF · 1 year ago
Yep, but it just smells better in the morning. Like hotcakes and bacon. Coffee. Toast.
