AMERICAblog: McCain campaign officials spilling to the press about strategy fights, which means they're already trying to salvage their reputations

Not an inch of sympathy for a single person involved with McCain or the Republicans. They are snakes. Watching Mary "the douche" Matlin last night spew the same hatred and lies about Obama convinced me again that Republicans are without any morals or ethics. Every one of the people involved with McCain should be exposed and held accountable and that includes Gingrich, Rove, and the whole crowd of Neocon, racist bastards.
Polly_Tics
I used to view Matlin as "interesting", but about 12 years ago I realized that this party was composed of EVIL people, all having something else at stake other than our own interest.
The GOP has proved themselves to be wrong, evil, greedy, do anything to benefit the few party and it was only time before they were discovered. The most painful part of all of this has been the WAIT.

I would like to see some of the Senators and Congressional Reps from both parties weigh in on this. One of these two candidates is going to have to go back to the halls of the Capitol and do this country's business when this campaign is over, and we can all agree that the % chance the man from AZ is the return is very high. After spouting all this filth to the public and to those of equal esteem votewise, how the Hell does McCain expect ANYONE to give him even 3 minutes of their time?

Millionaires always kiss the ass of other millionaires that is their credo. When you are in the club it doesn't matter what you have done. Look at the way the Republicans flocked to the Tom Delay party at the convention. They couldn't get enough of his cigars, booze and bags of cash.

I figured out their strategy last night. This week was Ayers, next week (13th)will be Retzko about Obama being a crooked politician and the week after (20th) will be the return of Rev. Wright and the week (27th) will be a combo of Ayers/Retzko/Wright and possibility even bringing up that he is a black man. It is so obvious what they are doing, they don't realize how stupid it makes them look. This will go down as the election that diminishes mcsames political career, he will be toast in Arizona. Can we say Senator Napalitano in 2010.

While it may be enjoyable to watch the Republican party descend into chaos, I really can't find the way it is happening "beautiful."
The danger they have caused by inciting their base to violence is very real. It is going to result in deaths at election places.
These campaign officials would be very very smart to get the heck out of there and declare their opposition to what McCain and Palin are endorsing before their names get tacked onto the list of people to blame for mass violence started by their base this year.
Polly_Tics
I fear you are all too correct with your assessment. the violence is brewing and is bound to percolate into full violence at some point. What happens on November 4th is still undecided, but with the tenor of the RIGHT wings campaign, coupled with the hostility of the public's view of the GOP, it "appears" to be an Obama win (thank God if that pans out!)
McCain, Palin and all of those associated with McCain's campaign are sure to be viewed in a wretched manner as history begins to write itself.
Milli

The "kill him" threat at one of their rallies was really a wake-up call, but I wonder if those hate-mongerers in these crowds lately are plants? I mean, when did McCain's crowds (not Palins) get so loud and boisterous all of a sudden? His approval ratings are going down, so what the heck is going on? Last month he could barely fill a school gym?(And I don't think it was a "coincidence" that a black McCain supporter was one of the ones who stood up at a rally and told him not to pull ANY punches against Obama. That's been shown on TV a few hundered times.) I think his complete lack of respect for Obama during both debates wasn't just him being cranky and bitter, I think it was an intentional sign for his radical base supporters to act that way towards Obama as well. Except they're getting a little too riled up. And if Obama wins, their anger won't be limited to just Obama, it may very likely be taken out on local Democratic candidates or voters themselves. And I bet you McCain or the republicans won't say anything at all if it does.
Nov 4th has the potential to be one of the best days for America, or one of the worst. This is gonna be a wild ride. I feel like we're going up that first big hill on a roller coaster........

Ya know, early on I did believe that McCain might have Palin go home "because of her family", but at this point in time I think that is impossible. There is no way he could do such a thing without it truly looking WEAK, SILLY & like very BAD JUDGMENT.

Good to see an old blogger around here!!!
Hope you are well. It's some interesting times we have here, no?
We have many implosion happening around us. The outcome of this election will not mean we are out of the woods yet. But I am hitching my anchor on Obama, hoping he pulls a Kennedy and tell the establishment to go "fuck themselves"

Hi there HCM, it's really good to "see" you! I'm doing well, but am far too wrapped up in this election for my own good.
Yes, these days are most curious and are in flux as we speak, but hopefully not so much as to change the current trend for an Obama win, eh?
I'm with you on Obama! While he was never my first choice, as I have gotten to know him better, the more I have become impressed and I do think he and his peeps CAN pull things together. At least as much as one administration can do after such a decimating 8 years of slaughter.
It's awfully nice to have you round, might you be coming back a little bit more?

Doing well, all in all. i'm broke, like all students, but i'm sure that's not unusual for most Americans. I'll be blogging when i can. I do enjoy it. Be well my friend.

Frankly, I loved my collage years, even the worst part of them! Heck, now look what you've done, I'm going to spend the rest of the day "Remembering things".

Obama this morning:
In Chillicothe, Ohio, Barack Obama
" I think that folks are looking for something different. It's easy to rile up a crowd by stoking anger and division. But that's not what we need right now in the United States. The times are too serious. The challenges are too great. The American people aren't looking for someone who can divide this country - they're looking for someone who will lead it. We're in a serious crisis - now, more than ever, it is time to put country ahead of politics. Now, more than ever, it is time to bring change to Washington so that it works for the people of this country that we love.
I know my opponent is worried about his campaign. But that's not what I'm concerned about. ....:
"I know my opponent is worried about his campaign.." Obama as cool stealth ninja fighter. This is sword cut # 23. There will be a thousand of them by 4 November. And a 72 year-old will be lying on the ground, oozing blood like an emergency room sponge.

With the disaster that is the McCain campaign, the free-fall of the stock market and the world economy in general and the mud bog called Iraq, why does Obama only have a 6 point average lead in the polls? Shouldn't he be up 20 to 30 points?
An_American_Karol
Andrew, I believe the lead is much higher. McCain knows this as well. But in answer to your question, there will always be a percentage of low information voters - Fox News viewers - who would never vote for a Democrat no matter their own self interest.
High Crimes & Misdemeanors
I suspect a couple of things. First the media lies to you about the polls. And as they say the results of polls are only good for the first 30 seconds. Second, the media lies. Third, we have an illiterate electorate that can barely read, can barely get nuance and have lost all cognitive understanding of REASON. It is truly a remarkable feat how the dumbing down of the American people by the brutish/british educational system has for so many years resulted in complete dimwits. But that is a whole other post.

(snark) In related news the McCain campaign has announced that they will be revamping their trademark. They plan to offer those attending future McCain/Palin rallies free brown shirts. They believe this will bring a new sense of historical unity to the flagging campaign.

On a different but important issue now, Bush just gave a speech that contained no news. Pundits on the cable channels are saying that the market drop is because "the financial class" does not trust Obama. They are spreading fear that Obama's plan to raise taxes will bring down the American financial system. What??? The financial system has been dragged down because of Republican House, Republican Senate, and Republican President dominated legislation for most of Bush's administration, and they have lifted regulation, allowed risky derivatives and swaps to go unregulated, and laissez faire capitalism was the only thing that mattered. Taxes for 95% of Americans will go down under Obama. Taxes for the top 5% are less than one-half of what they were a half-century ago. So don't start spreading fear that taxes are the problem, or taxes will be the problem.

This whole thing is already being spun as the poor miniorites fault. Like they forced people to give them a loan they couldn't afford. Of course, they are going to lie about Wall St. and Obama. From everything I've read for several years now, Wall St. very much trusts and likes Mr. Obama. I think media deregulation more than anything is to blame for the collapse of our country, more so than any other deregulation. If I were president, the fourth estate would be at the top of my list. Really mission has been accomplished for the Republicans. They will stay in power even when they aren't in power.

That's all the RIGHT wing has to try to force people to look at Obama's race. It is all about race, hate, xenophobia and power.
And even though the GOP has stacked the deck in a most profound manner, it can still be reshuffled, BUT that does depend on who the dealer may be...

I remember that the video of Limbaugh mocking Michael Fox's disability was very helpful to Claire McCaskill two years ago.
I hope some of what is going on at Palin and McCain hate rallies ends up on video for usage in Obama or independent campaign ads. The right wing hatred and fear-mongering needs to be exposed for all, especially when contrasted with Obama's calm and reasoned manner.

I wasn't an Obama supporter in the beginning, but I have to admit the guy has really impressed me. He has run a campaign like no other. "Conservatives" are reeling. I'm very proud of Mr. Obama, I don't think too many people could make it through all he's going thru and will go thru in the years ahead. And to do so and stay so cool at the same time. I'm very impressed. And I'm praying for him and his family. This thing is going to get much harder. Repubs may be fighting with each other and in complete dissaray, but don't think for one second they won't be giving it their all to try to destroy Mr. Obama and anything he and those evil "libruls" try to accomplish.

On MSNBC this morning I watched Obama deliver a message to Ohio voters. He encouraged them not to panic to have faith in America, to have faith that we will survive this crisis.

Just remember, folks. If something violent happens then you can thank the McCain - Palin camp. They have irresponsibly whipped their crowds into a frenzy. Their rallies now remind me of 1930's Nazi Germany rallies. Anyone associated with McCain - Palin will be responsible if something violent happens. The Republicans are sick, desperate, and violent people.

I just hope the lesson they learned was "Go crazy and racist early" that way people can just dismiss the republicans out of hand early on and we don't have to waste time with these pesky campaigns. We just start with the assumption that Republicans are amoral cretins, unfit to lead.
I will grant amnesty to any McCain staffer who wants to blame the loss on the incompetence, mendacity, and rapaciousness of the Bush/Cheney administration--if they acknowledge McCain's reliable complicity with that regime.
