The only problem is that John McCain has been vetted. He has already run for President, he has been a U.S. Senator for over 20 years. Obama hasn't. Obama is toast.
Thanks for the link. Although I agree the pastor dust up the media concocted for ratings has given life to the GOP strategists, but this is only March. Had it come out in Oct, we would be in a world of hurt. When 70% of people think we are headed in the wrong direction, fear tactics won't get the same traction. In the meantime we will have more economic bad news and will have surpassed 4,000 dead US soldiers. We have already seen Barack can not only take on a smear job, but elevate himself even further with his ability to address issues head on in a nuanced, eloquent manner many haven't seen in their lifetime. He is perfectly capable of fighting back while inspiring our better angels to look beyond the political tactics of fear and division. I just don't see it having legs in a few months. People have more important things to worry about.

Sounds like a great strat to me. Obama staffers can them make an ad where you line up the Rapture Party McCain supporters who make statements like : "America was founded, in part, with the intention of seeing this false religion [Islam] destroyed." and cut to shots of american flag draped coffins just to drive the point home of what the McCain supporting loons on the right are hoping for. War 4-EVA!

While it was a clear campaign ploy, McCain still strikes me as more honorable than Hillary in that he emphatically repudiates such comments while Hillary refuses to do so. Hillary is supposed to be on our side. Hillary has less character than McCain which I find deplorable when I personally find the stands taken by Republicans and conservatives deplorable. I would never vote for McCain just based on who his allies are, but applying the same standards to Hillary I won't vote for her.

Why a suspension rather than a firing. It's like being in high school. He should have been expelled, not suspended. We will be inundated with these racist videos before the election in November. Someone should keep a catalog of them, then make a movie of the catalog.

BTW, I wanted to comment on the unemployment thread that I was laid off at tthe end of January due to budget cuts -- at the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Some irony. The move can only create controversy for the McCain campaign if the liberal/ progressive internet jumps on it. You certainly won't see the corporate media covering this story. The internet has to be for the left what the corporate media is for the right. For the last week or two I've noticed a cohesiveness building on the Republican side while the Democrats look in disarray. We better figure something out and stop beating each other up. The liberal internet better start a barrage of attacks on McCain and leave out the Obama/Clinton fist fight.

As a " typical white person " ( Barack HUSSEIN Obamas words ) and registered Dem. I see nothing wrong with the ad exposing the neophyte Barack. If history has taught us anything it's that we the electorate are entitled to all information concerning any candidate and his / her associates no matter how personal or private. It is by this that we can make an informed decision in Nov. 2008. My having learned about Obamas racist and bigoted " minister " over a year ago has left me perplexed as why it has taken so long for the so-called mainstream media to address this important issue. I can only surmise that some in the liberal media wanted to play the " race card " and have a readily available excuse when the Dem. candidate loses. As a party our choices at this late date suck to put it mildly. On one hand we have an inexperienced legislator who cavorts with outright America haters and use their "churches " to propagandize against some fictious invisible enemy of "their" race. Then we have a washed up third rate wife of a former Pres. who not only couldn' t keep her own husband in the marital bed but allied herself with the most underhanded and subversive members of the current Dem. political machine. I find it important to know that Barack has knelt down and kissed the ring of one of the most dangerous domestic terrorists of the 60's & 70's ( William Ayers ) to receive his endorsement . Some of you might not know this but in the late 1960's early 70's Ayers the leftist , along with his cohorts in the Weather Underground destroyed a Manhattan townhouse owned by the father of one of the members when their bomb factory accidently blew up killing some of their own members. Numerous nearby homes were heavily damaged. The responding police and firemen found a basketball sized plastic explosive ball packed with nails and screws undetonated on the kitchen table. One can only imagine the carnage a device like this would have caused to the public. Added to this a "Hollyweird" who shall remain nameless here and lived in a nearby building aided these terrorists in escaping the authorities only to reappear 10 years later in a alliance with " Black Separatists " at a New England bank robbery that resulted in fatalities. (see Albert Seedmans' book "Chief " ). It is because of these alliances of the two remaining candidates that I'll be voting for John "amnesty " McCain this Nov. Sen. Biden, where are you when we need a man of your unblemished character?
