AMERICAblog: McCain campaign's latest whopper: John McCain invented the Blackberry

  • devlzadvocate · 1 year ago
He meant John McCain ATE a blackberry or he has dingleberries, I don't know.
  • JMOHR · 1 year ago
And they thought the Al Gore had a problem with fantasies.
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
Well that's just fine and dandy. Al Gore invented the InterNets Machine, so nyah!

But he never shows up to vote, doubt if he ever showed up to "create" either.
  • devlzadvocate · 1 year ago
He created it, he just doesn't know how to use it? Again, bizarre, demented thinking of reboblicans.

Reminds me of Romy and Michelle inventing Post-its.

    Off Subject:

Now I hear the mccain camp saying that obama is trying to use class warfare with his tax plan. The republicans never complained about class warfare when lowering taxes and tilting them heavily to the rich. Now a candidate puts forth a plan that is targeted towards lowering the taxes of the lower & middle income citizens, paying for it in part by those who gained the most under the last republican tax plan, and now the republicans want to claim "class warfare".

One last point, whenever an obama surrogate goes on a news show, they need to drop the line about 95% of americans will receive tax cuts, and give a specific dollar amount. It makes it sound like you and your neighbor could both make $60,000 , but he may qualify for a tax cut and you might somehow fall in the 5% that won't get a tax cut.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
Let them talk about it....it draws attention to the truth..... which is 95 percent of Americans will see more in their paychecks w/ Obama's plan. Every tax pro backs this up.....heck even Greenspan is on board w/ Obama and says McCain's plan is irresponsible.
  • bill__free · 1 year ago
I understand your point and obama's point, but there is still a huge part of the population that doesn't understand.

A better reply would be that everyone, 100% of the population earning under $250,000 will get a tax break.
  • Dave_Latchaw · 1 year ago
Maybe someone should tell them that RIM, who makes Blackberries, is a Canadian company.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
    LOL.....that's funny
  • Mister_E · 1 year ago
They slammed Al Gore for inventing the internet, now they pull a stunt like this.
    How pathetic can they be?!?
  • percol8r · 1 year ago
Shit. I expect my Blackberry will succumb to obsolescence any day now.......
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
The pet rock...perhaps, but the blackberry????
  • bunnyjump · 1 year ago
You know, I'm wondering if McCain is actually trying to loose the election....this is getting so ridiculous.

With Rove's latest comments, I think the rethugs will settle for a dem win, then proceed to blame the dems for all the damage the repugs wrought as the dems try to clean up. The repugs will write off '08 and regroup for '12
  • Mister_E · 1 year ago
This morning on a local talk radio station, that has mostly conservative programming they were talking about the state of the economy and of course ,a few of the callers kept blaming the Democrats for screwing things up ,and ,saying that an Obama win will destroy the USA. I am so sick of hearing that it 's the Democrats fault or Bill Clinton's fault that the economy stinks today.Clinton hasn't been in office for the last 8 years. But of course they won't dare blame their boy ,Dubya,

can't get his own crippled self on the intertubes, but he INVENTED the blackberry??? They've officially gone thru the fucking looking glass. Time to call the men in white coats.
  • reelactor · 1 year ago
Yesterday the markets dropped 500pts where are the commercials about Social Security privatization? Today, he talks about inventing the Blackberry where are the commercials ala Al Gore? The campaign is letting too much stuff get away, needs to change asap.
  • MnDem · 1 year ago
He absolutely has to run ads aimed at seniors tying privatization and retirement funds to yesterday's events. Seniors are wary of Obama (mostly because of long held ideas about race that are hard to make go away), so run ads showing that McCain's support of privatization could lead to giant losses of retirement funds, both through private social security accounts and other retirement plans.
Al Franken has a good ad on Social Security running here in Minnesota. Obama should do the same in Midwest and Florida, but hitting McCain directly.
  • KDM · 1 year ago
in 2000 the media jumped all over Gore for claiming that he invented the internet even though he never actually said that. In the interest of "balance" they should point out McCain's serial lying.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
wow.....I feel McSHAM/Impalin falling like a house of cards......I can hear the faint buckle in the foundation of their campaign under the weight of their lies...... It's a faint crackle, and it will come a tumbling down soon......

    can you feel it??? :-)

remmeber kids, we forgot...we actually have the truth on our side this time.
  • seohio · 1 year ago
I thought Blackberry was a Canadian company. Silly me...
  • grandma · 1 year ago
He really meant McGrampa went blackberry picking.....and got confused
  • rextrek1 · 1 year ago
John McCain couldn't build anything even remotely like the Bamboo radio etc that the professor on Gilligan's Island built....he probably couldn't make a "ball & a cup"
  • CitizenTwenty · 1 year ago
Next McCain's campaign will assert that he, in a non-partisian collaboration with no less than His Lordiness Jesus Christ, invented air and water...
And ummm...all the fertile soil from which springs all the wonderful food we eat...
And ummm...really cute kittens and puppies.
  • CountryRoads · 1 year ago
Isn't RIM a Canadian company? Why does John McCain hate American businesses?

This is how Obama needs to come back on McCain at every opportunity.

"Sound familiar?" said Obama, who has made "change" the central theme of his campaign. "Let me tell you, instead of borrowing my lines he needs to borrow some of my ideas. Change isn't about slogans. It's about substance."

This is how Obama needs to come back on McCain at every opportunity.

  • Pugalist · 1 year ago
"change" key word for Obama. However his idea of change is to add as VP Biden who has served for 3 decades in the senate and failed at all of his own attempts at a presidental run. His 3 decades of work in the senate that has lead to how many Regulations and New OVersight rules for SEC, FDIC, and of course Freddy and Fanny? Right he hasnt made any new ones in the last 3 decades yet now because he is campaigning with the new "chosen one" he has a magical solution to the problems. "Change" yup still not seeing it. Everyone knows Obama is overrated and back by powerful interest groups with no real substance.
  • EmGD · 1 year ago
Furthermore he's trying to take credit for a Canadian invention that was developed under Canadian regulatory laws and policies. I forgot, is McCain the Senator from Winnipeg or Arizona?

John McCain is George W. Bush's equal when it comes to intellectual curiosity. Add the two together and you still get zero. Btw and off subject, don't be fooled into believing anything Karl Rove says about anything. When Turdblossom claims that he himself believes McCain's campaign lies to be beyond the pale, he's just looking for a reason....any reason....to suggest to Americans and historians that Karl Rove is not the sleaziest person in America politics. We can't let him get away with it. Rove spreading the rumor suggesting John McCain fathered a black baby out of wedlock (during Republican primaries a few years ago) is still a low water mark yet to be matched, in my opinion, although accusing Obama of supporting legislation that would teach "comprehensive sex education" to kindergarteners is not far behind.

Next McCain will be wearing cardigans and earth tones...
