Just a curious observation, and I am wondering if anyone else has noticed the same, but it seems the MSM is doing it's job a little better this season. I mean, in 2004 I hardly remember them calling Bush out on any of his lies. But seems every day we hear of one reporter making some sort of feeble stand agains their master.
Has anyone else noticed the same, or feels the same way?

How ironic. Remember that video that circulated earlier in the year about Obama not wearing a flag pin, not putting his hand over his heart during the National Anthem, etc etc etc? My step-father forwarded that to me on Sunday and I sent back all of the disqualifiers for it. I'll have to send him this story and see how he deals with it.

I heard that McCain got creamed on The View this morning,m so I just tuned in to watch. WOW, man were those broads great! Barbara Walters was positively brilliant, the very best I have ever seen her. NO easy cry baby stuff for Babs. No siree, McCain got grilled by the ladies and just repeated empty senseless words (kind of like Palin did in that interview with Gibson).
I was away from the computer for awhile and just saw the clips at Huff. WOW! They asked the questions that the media refuses to ask. I am sure the McCain campaign is going nuts on how to present this a sexist.

Need advice on a poll that was taken and posted on a forum. It had to do with this preface: "At the beginning I got the memorized Weasel statement about none of the questions should be construed as positions of the candidate or the Democratic Party and all answers will be kept in confidence".
Now the question included in the poll: "Would you support a bill that would make it illegal to own or operate any motorized vehicle over 50 horsepower, except public transportation or licensed delivery vehicles, inside the city limits of any city with a population exceeding 50,000?"
Pretty obvious, why include the party affiliation? I would like to know if anyone has a source for this "Poll"?

Good catch, such Double Standards! May be McCain really is not patriotic, afer all he gave us Palin who by any standards cannot even go on Meet the Press or stand on her own! She's unprepared and unqualified to go on Meet the Press but she is ready to head the highest office in the land with all its hundreds of departments and agencies both here and abroad? McCain made a bad judgment pick and now he wants to Ready her as in preparing her for some grand role on Broadway, but this is not Broadway, it is serious reality. He has a duty to make her accessible to the media if he has chosen her to be his running mate. He cannot chose her and then hide her away from the Press, as if she does not exist. And the media is allowing him to get away with this farce, instead of being the third-wheel of democracy. Some where down the line that wheel has come off and no one has put it back on. How can she be fit for the highest office when they are afraid to let her out on her own and to campaign on his/their behalf. Should we also be afraid?

He didn't start out wearing a pin but a Firefighter gave him some type of pin near the end of the greeting line. Same firefighter gave Cindy a pin. Same firefighter DID NOT hold out his hand for a handshake with Obama. Obama reached out to him. It was a moment I noticed, did anyone else?

Simply pointing out the hypocrisy of the republicans isn't working. I mean we're preaching to the choir here. Republicans want blood, they want to win at any cost. As long as Democrats lose, they are satisfied. It doesn't matter to them if McCain doesn't wear a flag pin or lies or if he eats the heads off of kittens. All these people want is a fight - just like a bully, they want to punch someone for the sake of punching someone. It doesn't matter to them whether we go to war, pay $8 a gallon for gas or anything else or if they're even going to lose their jobs. All they want is the adreniline rush that hate provides them with.
Take a look at this petition that was put up to petition MSNBC to put Olbermann and Matthews back on the air on debate and election nights. If you look through the last 10 or 20 pages you'll see the racist and vile comments that one person has flooded the board with.
This is who we're fighting against. This idiot has taken the time and effort to attack one petition over the past few days. This is his call to action, his contribution to this election. This is whats making him feel superior and productive. This is what Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are telling him and others like him to do every single day. This is why we are losing. This is why were are being ridiculed on Fox News every single day. We've been made into the enemy and we haven't the foggiest idea why or how this happened, and less about how to get ourselves out of it.
To Obama - for God's sake we're tired of being abused and ridiculed by the republicans and we need to get this message across to you because WE can't fight them without help from the very top. You better start delivering here. Turning the other cheek and laughing off attacks only works for so long. We gave you the nomination, now you need perform. To watch your campaign crumble away now is just heartbreaking and devastating. If you lose, it will be 10 times worse than 2004 ever was. I am issuing a challenge to everyone on our side of the issues:
This weekend, when you socialize with friends at a cocktail party, the issue of politics seems to come up as it is the season. Do not hold back. Flat out say, Palin is a national security threat and has extremist views. There is only one choice America, Obama/Biden.
I actually have friends that were on the fence and are now horrified of the prospect of Palin being vp to a guy who has a 1/3rd chance of dying in office.
This is scary folks. I am usually not an alarmist, but we need to do everything we can to stop McCain/Palin. She is worse than Bush, truly.
I suspect as the days go on and we have our first debate, things will change, however we must not relent. WE MUST WIN.

Getty photos show McCain and his wife got pins in the ground zero pit. They were "pinned" by a FDNY firefighter (McCain) and a FDNY EMS worker (his wife) --both in the FDNY Ceremonial Unit .
