AMERICAblog: McCain does nothing as crowd member calls Obama a "terrorist"

  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
He's a LIAR. and it wouldn't surprise me at this point if the person in the audience was hired by the McCain camp to do just what he did.

Is McCain losing his mind, or just a liar?

    Both, actually.

Yeah. It doesn't have to be "either-or."

McCain thought it was funny.....you can see the smirk...but then he held it back....you know deep inside he wanted to smile.

    * I looked again, it was twice he tried to smile

    Maybe he is just constipated

That's just the smirk he gets when a little bit finds it's way into his Depends...

the more telling sign John has lost it ....
when he delivered his script line about "you ask such questions" and "you get an angry barrage of insults".
John, your crowd was throwing out the barrage of insults.

seems the "angry left paintbrush" is being pulled out. Too late I think for that to work.

This is dangerous, very, very dangerous. There are nutjobs out there, with just a little bit of encouragement, will do something very bad. The Secret Service needs to take action to put a stop to this type of behavior now.
Don't know if any laws are being broken, but they need to put a scare in these assholes.
  • bosdav · 1 year ago
Nothing these people do or say surprises me. Hell, why should it.

It was just 4 years ago that the president of our country said "a vote for the democrat (sic) party, is a vote for the terrorists".

    Sickening.

It sounds like McPappy and Moosemama are competing to see who can be the nastiest today. I still haven't heard any details from them on just about anything. I try to change the channel after a few minutes of Obama bashing, it's getting really old.
  • PatogTX · 1 year ago
My initial response (before watching) was to say that he didn't hear/understand it. Sadly, it's obvious he did hear and REALLY Wanted to agree.

Even the MSM wouldn't have supported that though.

This slime is expected and the worse is yet to come. It's like the Reichstag in it's final days.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
I have a question, though. Will Joe Biden still say he loves John McCain after he is calling his running mate and fellow Senator, Barack Obama a "terrorist?"
  • KerrynowCampau · 1 year ago
    Excellent question!
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
So, is the MSM debunking this shit or just fanning the flames?

    fanning it

good capture on this; this is a the final externalization of the hate they have. I'm positive they are in full support of the standard repug email campaign claiming such for a long time, the muslim crap, the terrorist crap, as nailed below, they are infact fanning the flames. I think the gop ticket is all about lies and the fear they can create. fear of armegeddon, fear of terrorists, fear of the debil. they preach to the lowest intellect ...

This town hall thing tomorrow should be interesting, Brokaw can only kiss so much McCain booty but the questions from the crowd should be quite a hoot.

"Senator McCain, why won't you release your medical records?"
  • KerrynowCampau · 1 year ago
They are going to have questions from the crowd???

Perhaps I will watch after all.
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
Yeah, but aren't they screened beforehand? I don't expect a question about McCain's health to get through, but from the conversation between Begala and Brokaw yesterday ("Why has Obama waited so long to answer about Ayres?"), I expect Brokaw to allow lots of stuff on Ayres, Wright, and Rezko through. No Keating Five though. It will be up to Obama to work that stuff in a la Sarah Palin.
  • KerrynowCampau · 1 year ago
You are probably correct about the screening (dammit). Obama would be smart to work in a Keating reference if questioned about the economy. And then I would expect Tom to be a much more involved moderator than Gwen was.

Fuck off, pigs. If anything happens to Obama, the GOP will have blood on their hands for allowing people like this to do this sort of thing. They got fuckin nuthin. I hope Obama landslides this GOP party into permanent oblivion.

OT -- PIMCO urges Fed to jump-start commercial paper market
Bill Gross, head of the world's largest bond fund, on Monday urged the U.S. Federal Reserve to take more dramatic steps to jump-start paralyzed credit markets, including direct purchases of commercial paper.

"A systemic delevering likely requires a systemic solution, which moves beyond cyclical interest rate cuts, liquidity provisions, or even the purchase of subprime mortgage-backed bonds," Gross, chief investment officer at Pacific Investment Management Co, wrote in his October letter to investors released Monday afternoon.

Gross, who oversees more than $812 billion in assets at Pimco, said the Fed must make the bold step of outright purchasing of commercial paper.

Furthermore, the Fed must now act as a "clearing house," guaranteeing that institutional transactions are cleared and counterparty obligations are honored, Gross said. That is because credit markets are based on trust and when there is no trust, just as is the case now, markets can freeze up, he noted.

Interest rate cuts are also in order, Gross said.

"They should also cut interest rates to 1 percent, because we are experiencing asset deflation, and the threat of headline inflation is long past," Gross said.

I don't know much about economics but this move sounds like the Fed is being "encouraged" to go "all in" and throw more money on the fire...

McCain should just come out and quote his master:

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we."

    -- George W. Bush (August 5, 2004)
  • Asterix · 1 year ago
I tend to think of mudslinging as a sideshow when candidates really have nothing to contribute in the way of issues. To both candidates, I would like straight answers to the following:

    1. How will you get this nation's economy back on its feet?
    2. How will you ensure that the sick and injured in this country get the health care they need?
    3. How will you fix our crumbling infrastructure?
    4. How will you stop the killing overseas and bring our soldiers home?
    5. How will you secure our country's energy supplies
    6. How will you safeguard the rights guaranteed by the Constitution to all citizens?
    7. How will you make our elections fair?
    8. How will you restore our manufacturing infrastructure?
    9. How will you fix our broken educational system?
    10. If you don't have answers to all of these things, will you step aside for someone who does?

Please, just cut the crap and get to the meat of the matter.

that crowd reminded me of old cowboy movies where they get some torches and pitchforks and run out into the night.

scary crowd and mccain should be ashamed at himself for allowing it to happen. bottom line with him is that is contempt for americans is through the charts. why else would someone unleash sarah palin as a potential president?
  • eclecticbrotha · 1 year ago
Sounds like McCain will be organizing a lynch mob next.

    That was not a joke.
  • DeathBySnooSnoo · 1 year ago
Does this not remind you of Pontius Pilate's "Ecce Homo" speech? Is the crowd's reaction any different from "We Want Barrabas!"? This is some really creepy shit and it is crazy that any Christian would watch this video and not be turned of by the evil behavior of these Repubicans.
  • dudervision · 1 year ago
You are so right about the danger of this kind of encouragement. I have numerous friends who are very concerned about Obama possibly being assassinated by some nut. Whereas the criticism of Hillary's comparison of Obama to Robert Kennedy back during the primary was fairly minor, this is HUGE. I think you are dead right the secret service needs to get involved and have a very SERIOUS talk to Senator McCain & Gov. Palin. It's one thing to sling mud, it's entirely different to be a part of creating the kind hysteria that might lead to murder. If McCain still had any honor, he would take things down a notch...but he lost that some time ago when he developed this obsession at "winning at any cost".
  • naschkatzehussein · 1 year ago
I read somewhere that McCain is going to "take the gloves off" tomorrow night at the townhall. Obama will be ready, but I do hope McCain implodes. He was seething at the first debate so I hope he blows a gasket tomorrow night.
  • DeathBySnooSnoo · 1 year ago
What is the diff between that video and this one?

  • lonesomethunderbolt · 1 year ago
Sounds eerily similar to the way McCain laughed off the "bitch" comment directed at Hillary Clinton that a supporter made at one of his event last November.
  • Poopyman · 1 year ago
It was obvious that he heard it and it tripped him up a bit. There was a moment's hesitation as though he was deciding on whether or not to address it. But to address it meant going off of his notes, which he's terrified to do, so he kept on with his speech, regardless of the crap being spewed.

It demonstrates how little extemporaneousness he can manage, so the crowd is free to fling their feces.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
My guess is McCain wasn't surprised by the comment, but that the guy's timing was a bit off... someone needs to track down the guy and find out if he was a campaign plant..
  • tas · 1 year ago
I think he really was surprised by it and didn't know how to respond. Do you think that just maybe he will realize just how dangerous his new tack is and say, "whoa!"
  • kerwynkus · 1 year ago
I agree with Poopyman's interpretation (despite his "Poopy" name). Nevertheless, how *DARE* he not respond?! He is doing things that may help get another person *killed*. If he can't stand up to his own crowd's BS, if he can't put "country first" as he says, then he is a most despicable person. If he can't do something to check the bigotry and hatred of his crowd, then he is no better than the bigots to whom he appeals. McCain's vitriolic approach is *extremely* dangerous, and if he wasn't ready for the very predicatble result the first time, he should make statements against that kind of BS in the future. McCain is bringing the country down down down, and right now I feel nothing but disgust toward him.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
latest CNN polls have people supporting Obama at 53% to mcsame's 45%.

looks like mcsame's campaign is going really well huh?

they're already calling Ohio and Florida 'Blue'.... which translates to: Obama's already got enough electoral votes to win.

any other questions as to why mcsame is slinging shit?

again, its working so well! keep up the good job mcsame! with any luck, you can get Obama into the 60%'s by election day!!

John: He is a liar. so is the whole Republican party. They have lied and cheated and accepted kickbacks and trips and sweetheart deals for decades and so have the Dems. What no one gets is that it has to come to a stop. We need to vote out all incumbents and get politicians who are content to do their job on their salaries and perks. Not on what they can receive under the table.
That being said 8 years of Bush and 12 of Republican Congress has cooked us.
My good friend at Merrill Lynch was talking today about the past CEO who got $164 million for destroying the company. The CEO of AIG got $1 billion. No one sees anything wrong, it is the free market. Well, I say revoke the $874 billion bailout and let them all go under. Our pension plans dropped 30% in two weeks and we have no where to go but down. My plan of trying to retire in 2 years and live on a modest income is down the tubes. I will be working till I drop just to pay for healthcare. I am actually considering walking away from my home and letting the bank take it who gives a shit, certainly not the people in Washington or the lobbyists or the 1% at the top of the food chain.

McCain's refusal to say no to hate shouted out at his rallies when it is obvious he hears it is SOP for the GOP in general. They along with McCain/Palin, Hagee, Muthee, Robertson, Dobson, Clear Channel, Fox and the filth on their air make safe space for some total whacko to do their dirty work after which the GOP and Christian Right says, Woa! Hey! It wasn't me!!

McCain = No Honor, No Shame.

This man is pathetic! He would sell the USA as he did the secrets of the Navy while a prisoner. Because of him many men lost their lives and he has the audacity to call himself a HERO? A hero is someone who SAVES LIVES. McCain must be reminded that there are over 800 POW's who served more time then him. His family connections saved him from the S&L scandal. His POW Hero myth is a coverup by his father's political friends! McCain has turn American Politics into a self proclaimed war of lies and deception. He opened up his own Pandora's Box for attacking an innocent man. Men who live in rich wives glass houses should never throw stones! This man is not mentally, phyiscally or intellectually fit to be President of the United States. His only tactic is to tap into racists people and stir them up... but he failed to realized America is not all racist! I want my country back from these political thugs! Shame on people like McCain and Bush for ripping the foundations our forefathers built with DIGNITY!

McCain was heavily grounded for fear of lightning bolt when he said "angry barrage of insults"...
  • cab02149 · 1 year ago
Ask those closest to him before he became a Senator. After that it was just image, hiding truth from the public. What we have seen this endless political season is more than enough. He is a loose cannon, an angry, pathtic, weak man, an inveterate gambler; not fit to hold any level of public office let alone the presidency. Certainly not worthy of respect. Not worthy of trust.

So, he will probably get the job.

At Palin's freak show in FL another "upstanding American" weighed in:
"Now it turns out, one of his earliest supporters is a man named Bill Ayers," Palin said.

    "Boooo!" said the crowd.

"And, according to the New York Times, he was a domestic terrorist and part of a group that, quote, 'launched a campaign of bombings that would target the Pentagon and our U.S. Capitol,'" she continued.

    "Boooo!" the crowd repeated.

"Kill him!" proposed one man in the audience.

It is time we flood the Internet with that "feel good" commercial John McCain put out when Barack Obama delivered his acceptance speech at the Democrats' convention.

If Johnny McLiar had these serious thoughts about Obama's associations -- if they were of such grave significance -- why did he say the day he accepted the nomination was "truly a good day for America"?

    Erratic, indeed.

I was @ the Palin Carson, CA event - in the belly of the beast. After the rally there were 15 faithful protestors still there against 25,000 - 30,000 Palin supporters. They were rabid dogs smelling meat the way they reacted to the mere 15 brave protestors. There was one out there screaming about Bill Ayers . Here's the video: "Sidewalk freak show feeds on the Ayers lie!" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GN4q4QqzYwk
Here's another of the other Palin supporters taunting the anti-McCain protestors "Weird vibrations @ Palin Orange County Rally!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DgmVphS4NYU
JMCO (Just my cynical opinion) - this election will be stolen - and it s the energy, the level of anger I felt that just confirmed - and I pray (not to Rev. Wright nor Witch Drs) daily that I am proven wrong!

This is grossly unfair for McCain and Palin. McCain and Palin are not racist just because their supporters are. This is indeed GUILT-BY-ASSOCIATION, something that McCain-Palin campaign will never do, right?
