AMERICAblog: McCain event becomes Obama rally

  • Steve_in_CNJ · 1 year ago
repubs can't win union votes without referring to guns, god and gays. he should have known that.

one new poll shows obama up in Indiana, despite losing the NW. if blacks in the NW reverse their trend towards low turnout, Obama will take IN easily.

"The Real Scoop On Palin’s Staged Town Hall Meeting — Another Pretend Moment!

    http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/

So, what was the catch? Unlike most town-hall events, which are open to the public, include diverse crowds, and no one needs an advance invitation, this event was for ticket-holders only. And the only way to get a ticket was through the local Republican Party, after an advance RSVP. No wonder Palin was prepared to play “stump the candidate” — it was a very friendly crowd that had no interest in testing her.

It doesn’t exactly sound like a vote of confidence in the candidates’ ability to answer tough questions, does it?"

How long will the GOP continue to get away with lying, cheating and deceiving the American people?

"Obama 08, Obama 08, Obama 08!" And all those stickers and buttons...Obama!

    Don't you just love it?
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
i don't think "the workers" are buying the GOPer BS this time...
...wonder why Cindy wasn't wearing her Three HUNDRED THOUSAND dollar outfit to this rally?
  • OlderButWiser · 1 year ago
Yes! The workers know the difference between "workers" and "the fundamentals of this economy are strong." Only an elitist like McBush wouldn't...
  • bish8 · 1 year ago
Donald Trump is endorsing McCain. He said we do not need more regulation and tax increases would be devastating for the economy. He suggested that the middle class should all go out and buy a house. Arrogant bastard.
  • Steve_in_CNJ · 1 year ago
i say we fire both of them.
  • Rab · 1 year ago
Thats the same Donald who went bankrupt how many times? Yea Donny go with Gramps.

    OT -

Not only do we need Obama in '08 but also a new Congress.

After cancelling this week's quizzing of Bernancke and Paulson it now appears they will recess with out addrssing how to douse the fire as Rome burns.

    http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=washingt...

Pelosi must go home and speak with her portfolio managers to ensure she can pay the dime an hour raise to her Guatamalen help here on worker permits can continue to maintain her Napa getaway.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
Now that just seems downright disgraceful. They were part of this mess and now they are just going home?

I would like to see how much, where kept, and how top leaders' like Bohner, Pelosi, Reid keep their money safe.

Went to a picnic last night and a friend of mine speculated that McCain was on some sort of anti-depressant to control his temper and mood swings.

Reminded me that my husband and I just recently watched a clip of a McCain appearance from about 18 months ago, and my hubby thought it looked like a different man. Sharp, funny, engaged. Not like the McCain of today.

So I wonder if my friend is on to something. Do we actually know what meds he's on?
  • OlderButWiser · 1 year ago
Yes, that could be it, after all. A simple thing...but my experience with anti-depressants during a long, painful event cost me my job, my house and other miseries, including indecisiveness, bad judgment about every day affairs, etc, such as...I could have sold my house to avoid foreclosure, but it never occurred to me, nor did it occur to the various people I talked with about my financial problems. So much for "expert" advice, may I also say. If my mind had been clear, I wouldn't have hesitated.
  • JohnInTexas · 1 year ago
I'm sorry, my antidepressant has made me more lucid and calm and able to deal with stress in a more appropriate and responsible manner. Maybe McDummy NEEDS an antidepressant and won't take his med. Old people get like that.
  • TomJoad · 1 year ago
I remember some years back a few stories about practically EVERYONE at the White House on some sort of new "happy pills" that were known for affecting mood swings, etc.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
i've wondered that for awhile too...he's either out of it (on meds) or angry (off meds). how much confidence does that inspire?
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
I wish more people would wear the buttons.
I have one on my shoulder bag.
I'm proud to wear my Obama button.

Have you ordered you buttons yet?

I hate to say I told you so (well, actually I love it) but Michigan is BLUE! On to reports of reboblicans using foreclosure lists in Macomb County to challenge voters at the polls - now we know it is true and the suits have been filed - per posts regarding Macomb County reboblican party chair several days ago, but they try to deny. So now we will be at the polls to watch their every move.

that's fantastic -- good for those workers -- good for them that they took a chance not knowing maybe what would happen to them if they spoke out while he was there...

way to go guys.... lets get him wherever he goes!

I heard that Sarah was on NPR this morning and sounded really dumb about the economy. It couldn't have been much of a stretch.

With the McCain campaign keeping her far away from the press, it was a breakthrough when she sat down with Sean Hannity, so I can't imagine her speaking to an NPR reporter. I wonder if what NPR played was part of the Hannity interview, or if this was an old interview done before McCain chose her as his VP. Did anyone else hear it, and can you provide a link?

It's important to keep the pressure on until he bursts into tears.

Why would he go to a car manufacturing plant? Of course it's gonna be stocked with union member Obama voters. You don't see Obama walking around the Heritage Foundation or at the monocle manufacturers convention, he knows he'll get booed.
