    Just like Chimpy did!
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Oh goody, another "Leader" that has to be lead around!
  • seefleur · 1 year ago
Oh great - proof that he's a LOST demented liar...
  • ZennButtKicker (tlhwraith) · 1 year ago
It doesnt seem like that big a deal. Having been on lots of dimly stages before, I can see where finding the stairs can be hard sometimes.

I hate to say it, but cut the guy a little slack!
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
Yea, cut him some slack like the Republicans DON'T cut Obama slack. No, I don't think so. Hit him hard until the day after the election then cut him some slack.
  • ZennButtKicker (tlhwraith) · 1 year ago
The one thing Obama has shown with remarkable clarity is that tit-for-tat attacks don't often illicite the desired result. All I'm saying is that in this particular instance, it is real easy to dismiss his reaction as something almost anyone who gives a gazillion speeches in a gazillion places would do. I can't imagine what it must be like to be constantly changing venues all the time and expect to be able to keep your bearings.

I do agree as a general rule we shouldn't coddle McCain, but we shouldn't make a victim out of him either.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
You can tell he was told to bring it down a notch or two.
He looks sedated. Like when that 2nd Manhattan starts kicking in.

    McFuddled McFoolish.
  • Mister_E · 1 year ago
OMG!!! That was too funny, but, disturbing. To think that there are people out there that think this buffoon should be our next "Fearless Leader".When he can't even find his way off of a stage.
  • Mister_E · 1 year ago
"Duuuuh! Which way do I go,?Which way do I go?"
  • RobertSeattle · 1 year ago
Same thing happens when he's in one of his 13 homes.
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
The footage reminds me of Kerry windsurfing back and forth...Except no ocean, or "maritime border" as Mooselini would say...
  • Cpeterka · 1 year ago
Sorry John, I don't like the guy, but going from place to place to place, and flag and curtains and Secret Service.. Even I would get confused once in a while.
Now, if we could have him call Palin PUTIN, that would be nice... Oh, new Poster Idea

    MCCAIN
    PUTIN

    RMAO !!
  • Heather · 1 year ago
He was just looking for Sarah Palin to help him off stage. On a side note it reminds me of Bush getting lost on stage with the giant door. But in better news, Obama is on now and he is on a roll. What an amazing juxtaposition between McCain and Obama.
  • Iowa_Democrat · 1 year ago
Reminds me more and more or Mr MaGoo. Needs, glasses, and Jim Backus' voice was better, but more and more.
  • brb915 · 1 year ago
Look at his left eye in the still shot.........?
  • michaelt · 1 year ago
    this post is just silly.
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
    no its not.

Maybe not to the "decided" high information voter, but to the "undecided" voter who votes on mannerisms and looks. It matters. Every little detail matters.
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
Here's a rare VP Debate bright spot...Sources close to Team McCain, the team that couldn't campaign straight, suggest the ultra stealthed wireless transmitter/receiver to be worn by Caribou (Malabu! Am I a twit or what?) Barbie during the debate could create a fundamental (wink, wink!!!) desire to choose lesbanism.

TURN AROUND Every now and then I get a little bit tired of listening to the sound of my tears.
TURN AROUND Every now and then I get a little bit nervous that the best of all the years have gone by.
TURN AROUND Every now and then I get a little bit terrified and then I see the look in your eyes.
TURN AROUND, BRIGHT EYES Every now and then I fall apart.
TURN AROUND, BRIGHT EYES Every now and then I fall apart.

Sorry, I know that's not very nice, but damnit! I want a president who doesn't look befuddled. This reminds me of Bush not being able to find his way out of that room somewhere overseas.
  • bluestockton · 1 year ago
That was in China, where all the doors look alike.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Ok, for those who think this is "silly" and to cut him some slack... Ummm, he wasn't up there long enough to "forget" where he came on from... they didn't blindfold him and spin him around and suddenly take the blindfold off. He apparently managed to get himself ON STAGE, and he couldn't find the same exit route he had just taken??? And it's not like he's a noob at this... with his thousands of years in the senate and his multiple runs at office he's done events like this hundreds if not thousands of times...

He's clearly having cognitive issues added to his serial lying and his surly, nasty temper.
  • Apphouse50 · 1 year ago
I would submit that some of that surly, nasty temper is directly related to his cognitive issues, although I acknowledge that he's said to have had a bad temper for many years now. But people in the early stages of dementia frequently have outbursts that don't always relate to what's going on with them at the moment but that seem to emanate out of the frustration they feel generally. Under the best of circumstances a presidential campaign is extraordinarily stressful, and it's not wearing well on him. But he seems clearly headed into an altered state.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
In other folks I'd say you're right about the temper being related... but he has a very long, pretty well documented history of being an asshole.
  • Rob Mule · 1 year ago
(ka-ching!!!) Ooh, David...After reading Page 6 it's no wonder you're so mean to servers:

[David] Gregory is married to Beth Wilkinson - who until a month ago was general counsel, executive vice president and corporate secretary for mortgage giant Fannie Mae

My DC is quite the inbred place isn't it??? And folks wonder why the news is skewed or stories don't get fully investigated? It's hard to do a story when your spouse is in the middle of it.
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
That left eye of his is really starting to bother him.

( Wanna bet, come the end of November, McCain goes into the hospital for "something" )
  • ErnestTee · 1 year ago
sssshhhh, be vewy vewy quite, I'm hunting wabbits, hahahaha
  • cowboyneok · 1 year ago
so lost... so lost and confused. Its sad, really, when dementia starts to take over.
  • devlzadvocate · 1 year ago
been there, seen it. I swear that's what it is. I swear Bush has some same issues, too.
  • devlzadvocate · 1 year ago
I can't wait for the first Amber Alert that John McCain is lost and wandering down an interstate highway without supervision.
  • Wolfsinger · 1 year ago
I don't like this guys political views, either. Not one little bit.

That said, I don't see it. The cameras are running and folks on campaign trails are shuffled to and fro talking as they go about places and things no where near them. I can't fault John for not knowing how to get off a stage.

    Vigilance!

This guy is running for President and he's speaking to about 20 people in a room?
  • EmGD · 1 year ago
I must admit I usually find this cuter when it's a hot actress holding an award confused about which way the exit is on the cavernous stage, then an old guy confused about which side the steps are on.

  • Monkei · 1 year ago
I ain't buying it ... all these stages seem the same after 1000 speeches, the twitch so what, lets focus on real stuff, not this bullshit.
  • JoyceH · 1 year ago
Could someone tell me what 'format' the clip is posted in? Because on my screen, I'm just seeing a big white space where the video should go. I'm seeing that on several blogs now, and wonder if I need some new media reader.
  • indigo7275 · 1 year ago
Anyone else think that botox or restalyn have been a part of McCain's "$5000 make-up job"
  • jenwilliams717 · 1 year ago
Oh, let's not be small -- there are so many more damaging critiques that can and should be made of McCain, pointing out that he got lost trying to get off a stage undermines the credibility of other comments on the really important issues (which you so aptly cover, John)
  • freshpaint · 1 year ago
Anyone remember when George Bush got confused getting offstage on a trip to China? We thought it was hilarious back then.
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
yup...something is going on here. The reppublicans have a full blown crisis on their hands...I am sure behind the scenes it's mayhem.

McCain probably saw todays swing state polls....yikes.
  • Maudie · 1 year ago
Nothing to see here. The headline and copy made it seem like he was stroking out on stage. Upon viewing the video I'm thinking "What???" He probably had something in his eye. Or one too many coffees - caffeine can cause eye twitches as I all too well know. His confusion at the end of the speech is perfectly. C'mon AmericaBlog - you're out of line and over blowing this one. You can do better.
  • jblow · 1 year ago
I think the stroke theory is too strong! What did he have for lunch? Maybe he's got a little gas? looks like he might be trying to suppress a squeeker..and make sure it dosn't turn into something more?
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
jblow: Another one in need of consultation with a doctor to validate his diagnostic credentials. This is DENIAL at the extreme!
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
Maudie: I suggest a visit with your doctor to discuss the symptoms. Don't drink any coffee before your visit.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
Decency demands that this man step down now before he is felled on stage.
The fight must be stopped when one fighter is incapacitated. This is not a cruel joke and someone in authority must step in NOW!

SAVE McCain and the country and force him to withdraw NOW!
