I know there's video of him calling for less regulation of everything.

Palin must know the economy better than Romney.....when do we hear her take on it?

John McCain says that what this economy needs is less oversight and more trust from the Public:

Holy Crap -- Someone please pull up the new Saxby Chambliss advertisement. He is the GOP Senator who is running for re election. He is also Bush's biggest butt plug, for having voted with W more often than even McCain.

Well, the new ad has absolutely NO substance -- Just all the members of his family lining up to say how swell he is.

Why did Bush miss the GOP Convention again?
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
blah blah blah blah blah...the new GOP is all about making sure that, at all costs, I get more for me and my golfing buddies and fuck the rest of the country. They woke up one day and saw, somewhere after Reagan, that they could get away with this. And that's all you need to know. The rest is commentary.

One of my fave stories from Bush's first term was how John Ashcroft and Bush and their cabal would get down on their knees and pray to Jesus in the Oval Office before a meeting. And within a minute or two, someone in the meeting was saying things like "We'll fuck them...we'll fuck them over like they've never been fucked over." Or something to that effect.

Karl Rove learned at the feet of the master Nixon. So as long as Americans keep voting for the guy you wanna have that beer with instead of policy, you will continue to get fucked over. It is THAT simple. Republicans are about getting all they can while they can.

Where's Sarah? Why is it that she no longer welcomes the Troopergate investigation?

Can she honestly say that no Republicans want her investigated?
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
President Harry S. Truman had it exactly right about the Republicans then and now when he famously said: " We'll tell the truth and they will think its Hell!" Poor Sarah, the truth is catching up with her and she is not only hiding from the press but from the investigation by her own Alaskan legislature. POOR SARAH the QUEEN OF EARMARKS and LIAR EXTRAORDINAIRE.

I heard two economists on CNN admit that Obama has the closest right idea for fixing the economy. Both times they were cut off by a CNN host or contributor from saying it. The contributor, Sewrer, I think his name was, said, "That's very partisan!", when another contributor said Obama had the right idea. What's going on CNN? Is YOUR racism showing? Let the truth be told and stop trying to fight it or I will tell Roland on you!

    did yall see this?

    http://www.reuters.com/article/fundsFundsNews/i...

NEW YORK, Aug 30 (Reuters) - Lehman Brothers has hired Jeb Bush, brother of the President of the United States, as an advisor to its private equity business, a source familiar with the situation said.

Lehman hired another relative of U.S. President George W. Bush last year--George Walker, a second cousin, who heads up the bank's asset management business.

Jeb Bush is the former governor of Florida.

    Lehman Brothers declined to comment.

Interesting timing, one might say, dont ya think?
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
yes i did see that...i thought jebbie was hired as a "financial advisor" for Lehman a year ago ....hmmmmm.

Love it. McCain is on Today. Says the economy is sound, but there is a crisis of greed on Wall Street. The workers of America are great. He believes "the workers of America" are the fundamentals of the economy..... blah blah....old boy network, corruption, we need a commission to find out what is wrong and we will fix it.
His blink rate is very noticeably rapid.
Matt is challenging him on his historic stand against regulation. "I warned about this problem a couple of years ago. This is a matter of corruption. I'm a Teddy Roosevelt republican,......."
Matt asks him if he wants a stronger SEC like Obama. McCain doesn't answer, says he wants a stronger FDIC (!!!). And so on.
McCain says the government should not bail out AIG. Keeps harping on corruption, calling for a 9-11 commission to fix it to assure every American has a safer future, knows his bank deposits are insured.

I really think he is confused about the distinction between the stock market and savings deposits. And about the distinction between the SEC and FDIC.

Now they have Biden on the same topic. He is great. WE should correct the causes--regulation we proposed re bankruptcy, taxes, --that Mc Cain opposed. He is specific. He really has his arms around these issues. Why aren't we hearing more about this?

    Biden v. McCain - that's smart!
  • HereinDC · 1 year ago
Joe Biden just did a great job on THE TODAY SHOW.

McCain did the same all talking points...and kept repeating them...over and over.....
McCain has no thought at all. He stays on script.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
I'm surprised that McCain hasn't promised that he can make Wall Street crime free. After all, if he deregulates completely than nothing those crooks will do can be prosecuted and there won't be any crimes on Wall Street. <g>

Well it's all clear to me now that Andrea Mitchell explained McSame's "fundamentally strong" economy. It's US, the WORKERS of America who are the backbone of the economy according to Johnny Mac. Well, that changes MY vote, because McSame really REALLY cares about ME! I didn't know it, but all these years he has secretly been working for ME! He's been protecting ME! So now it's up to ME to fix out the economy and make it strong again. YAY ME!
  • bacalove · 1 year ago
If McCain can so easily and readily lie to you without blinking, how can you believe him when he tells you ANYTHING! You can't. A man's word is his bond. You just can't trust McCain to be honest, nor his running mate Sarah Palin.

John McCain -- "he walked the anti-regulatory party line, with only occasional exceptions...and tried to lay down a smokescreen of righteousness by campaigning against small potato[e!]s like legislative earmarks--money to study the mating habits of, uh, crabs, in, uh, Alaska (proposed by Governor Honorable)." Joe Klein
  • hawkseye · 1 year ago
Aside from McSame's past---which is dismal---what are his plans for dealing with the situation we have right now?
  • rexkc · 1 year ago
He is aware of the view that there is a need for government oversite in situations that have already blown up the economy, but in areas that haven't blown up the economy YET, he believes in de-regulation.
  • LisaLV711 · 1 year ago
The Wall Street "ain't got no jobbers" will vote Republican AGAIN this election because they BELIEVE! What they need to BELIEVE is that they ain't got a job. But vthey will vote Republican, live off food stamps and general assistance, and sleep in the subway before they vote, do I dare say it, a Black man! Oh my God! Because they BELIEVE Father McAin't will come to their rescue.

McShame's history with economics is laughable, we all know he is a deregulator who could care less about oversight and now he tells us his grand solution to this crisis is to set up a commision. What a great plan. I don't think even Phil Gramm could have come up with that. John, your article has some great material for an ad. I sure hope that the campaign or at least a 527 picks up on this one, because this clown doesn't have a clue. Sure the economy for him is strong. If I had as many houses as he had , I'd think the economy was strong too. Oddly enough, a couple of months ago I would have said that I was in fairly good shape financially, however , the recient actions in the market have taken a very hevy tole on my position like a great deal of Americans. I am already retired and have just eatched my funds cut in half by the drastic drop in the markets. I can only imagin what it is like for someone who is gettin g ready to retire watching their 401K dry up before their eyes, and Mr. Johnny says he is going to set up a commission to take care of the problems he helped to make. And if something happens to him, Miss Sarah, who can see Russia from her house will protect me. Never in the history of my country have we needed change more than we do at this very minute.I hope with all my heart that the American people will wake up and see the real differences between these two men. There is NO choice. America HAS to elect Obama or we are doomed. We as a nation cannot aford to have McCain/Palin anywhere near the White House.

Everyone is forgetting the fact that Joe Bidden has been in the senate for 3 decades. It just seems wrong to say that McCain has not regulated anything when neither has he, But i guess when you are the sidekick to the new "chosen one" you never do any wrong either. Regulation is needed and needed soon, but only McCain has the strength to actually stand up and do it because he is not owned by special interest like Obama is. Today's problem require a leader that is battle tested in politics and can still make the right choice. Obama has repeatedly in his few short year in public office, proven to only vote on party lines or go across party lines when the issue has no support to go anywhere. He has not had the courage to stick his neck out on a single issue yet and work with republicans or independents and make something happen. I Dare say it, but normal democrats are the resident experts on economy while republicans are for national defense. However, this election i will have to vote Republican on the economy because Obama's plan while finally undoing mistakes on taxes will only hurt the country because he plans to spend 4x as much as any new tax plan will bring in.

McCain's Full Legislative History of Flip-Flops

The contradictions by John McSame are his MO. They are always the same. He takes an initial position as a " maverick ", and then, under Republican Party or Presidential pressure, he flips. This is a regular ( 90% + ) record over the past several years. MORE OF THE SAME WITH JOHN McSAME !!!!!
