    sacrificed some of CNN's integrity

Don't you have to have it to sacrifice it?
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
I'm already very skeptical of the American people. If they vote in numbers to elect McShrub president or close enough for the GOP to steal it again, I will turn my back on them until things are swept away and something new begins to take shape. That's when I will become involved again.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    Yeah, voters are dunces.

But, I said "I give up" after 2004, and yet here I am again.

(To be honest, if the Repubs weren't trying to eliminate Social Security and employer-sponsored health insurance I probably would be sitting on the sidelines this year.)

"Turn your back?" Oh, honey, don't kid yourself. You shop WalMart!
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
I shop at Walmart because I am poor. But only the very basics. Like underwear and socks.
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
    I knew that . . .  just keeping you honest.  :-)

I am so angry today I could do something very evil...we were out last night with about fifteen gay men having dinner. Politics started to come up. Every one of these supposed liberals said they would NEVER vote for a black man in a million years. My partner and I were just speechless. Several were just staying home this time, several were planning to vote for McCain. Only one man was with us on Obama....an African-American who sat there and said very little. And it got nasty with the Yankees vs the Bubbas. And the "colored man" sitting there like a good stepinfetchit Negro with his mouth shut. I was appalled. I tried very hard to explain why they are being ridiculous. Finally I made my exit line with "Well now I am beginning to wish to hell y'all had had some cannon factories in 1864. Maybe there should never have been a Union after the Civil war.

The New South is a myth. And it's going to show its very ugly head in November. Racist white crackers are alive and well down here.

    Just appalling.

(We are now quite serious about moving back to the Northeast or Canada. When the gay population cannot see how a Democrat is a better choice, then the Rove evil forces have won.)
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
I have two gay friends locally who are the same way. One was a huge Hillary supporter and when I chatted about supporting Obama he got really cool in the conversation, like... I haven't too much talked to him since. Is there anything more ridiculous than a gay person not supporting the far better candidate because he's black? It's really sorta crazy making for other gay guys to be like that.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
did any of them say why they'd never vote for a black man in a million years????
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
No real reasons were offered. Our black friend just sat there in silence...
You see I broke the cardinal rule in Texas..."never discuss religion or
    politics."
This is why Tom DeLay, John Cornhole, and Kaye Bailey Hutchison hold their
    power.
No one here is willing to talk about it. The real reason they won't vote for
    Obama
is that they are racists. End of discussion.
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
Yeah, it is pretty amazing. That's racism at its best! Thanks for keeping the watch.
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
    believe me, i know...

make them tell you why next time...force them to dredge up their buried fears and look at them...
  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
The reaction became corkscrew, but underneath in your subconsciousness, you know what my comment, meant. It doesn't involve me.
  • Deacon_Blues · 1 year ago
I wonder at what point the press will finally grow a pair? Probably never.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
In New Hampshire, if he'd say something that wasn't artfully phrased, there was more of a flow -- he could revise something, or say let's talk about baseball. He'd get a pass. But in the age of blogs, there's always someone who makes a big deal out of it."

    ----------

They laboriously go through everything Obama says and take it all out of context for their political hits, and they got the nerve to complain that McCain isn't allowed to rephrase things?
  • Sage24 · 1 year ago
This is the answer to McCain juvenile ad, showing Obama with two airheads.
    Watch it, it is good.

Glad you posted this article Joe. I read this on the bus this morning and was thinking if you were going to post it.
Simply amazing....It REALLY is a damning article about McCain.

    "Pained," huh? well, good!

    hahahahaha...

McWarHero thought he could just put it on auto pilot and coast into the white house...it worked fine in the Navy...

This is good news for us. Let's hope the press gets tired of getting dissed by their "favorite" candidate. The Straight Talk Express isn't talking so much these days. The press will make or break this campaign. Let's hope they all grow a pair.
  • hardeknox · 1 year ago
McKept only works a four-five day week as it is, and is beat by the end of it, fumble-mouthed the rest. What does Cindy the trollop do for him on weekends to revive him-hot oil massage?

I'm sure everyone will remember Nicole Wallace, as Nicole Devenish! The bitch from hell! Here's hoping that by brining the Rovian Rangers aboard, McCain is doomed! McCain's thought process is so diminished now, Bush/Cheney/Rove will have no problem at all controlling him, and running the White House!
  • GrMtGirl · 1 year ago
McWarHero (I really like that) has relied on the press for free publicity for years playing the "Mr. Nice Guy" role. Well, now he getting desperate and angry and the greater his desperation the uglier he is becoming. I think he is sinking into depression with the chilidsh "Noboby likes me everybody hates me syndrome". Obama's grandious crowds really blows his mind.
    Pay back can be hell!

McCain has a problem looking people in the eye these days. This might be the reason. http://www.tagg-lines.com/2008/08/mccains-mess-...
  • tlsintx · 1 year ago
i'm noticing that old media is starting up on this repetition:

...don't tell me i'm racist...that pisses us (whites) off to be called racist when we know we're not...
    a la Bill Clinton...http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/

and Obama says, McCain isn't being racist in those ads, just cynical...
hmmmm. it might be really smart for Obama to take that tack...

McCain has become another dumbed-down Republican stooge. He is appealing to all the mouthbreathing knuckledraggers in the country.
  • FauxReal · 1 year ago
McCain is keeping the national press at arms length so he can dazzle the local press and get to answer easy questions - not be grilled. Also I think to hide his pattern of confusion and gaffes. The locals can't spot a pattern but those who cover him everyday could.

The media has spent a years protecting McCain and creating the Maverick myth. But letting go is hard to do. There's still fawning coverage. Just check the WaPo on any given day. I bet the traveling press can't believe he threw them over for the locals. After all they've done for him! Not a good way to repay them for all the protection they've given him.

I did some research into McCain's coverage in his last campaign when he started his whine about the press ignoring him. Rather eye-opening. I particularly liked the title of this 1999 Esquire article "John McCain Walks on Water." So McCain had some messiah comparisons himself.
