Johnny Boy thought she was no longer up to his standards.
I'll have to read the book for the rest of the details but, I believe, Cindi was a young thing with plenty of money, a hot body and was also willing to give Johnny Boy a job at her father's beer distributorship in Arizona, which later led to his political career.
For an opportunist like Johnny Boy, there's wasn't much to think about.

As much as it pains me, I would have to agree with you. Although I disagree with his policies, John McCain endured tremendous hardship as a heroic and courageous prisoner of war much as our brave and patriotic young men and women in uniform are today serving in Iraq. We may disagree with the war, but we must always support these amazingly gutsy men and women in uniform.

Cindy McCain did not forge prescriptions but actually stole the Schedule II narcotics Vicodin and Percocet from her own charity, AVMT.
She literally got away with stealing drugs from disaster victims.

The Phoenix New Times had a great article on this when it came out, interviewing the employee who was fired for reporting the drug thefts. Following Cindys lies about going to rehab and all the rest. But why Cindy McCain was never charged with a felony is still a mystery.

But I really must take issue with the several references to McCain as a certified war-hero. Total claptrap! Only in his own rapidly dissolving mind is McCain a hero of any sort. But he definitely NEEDS to be certified and confined somewhere he will no longer be a danger to himself or others.
