AMERICAblog: McCain keeps digging that Social Security hole

  • Õ¿Õ · 1 year ago
McShrub is so out of touch, he believes gasoline is around $2 a gallon. Says it doesn't matter. We poor people are really suffering.

I don't understand how they can ignore history with people. These politicians MSM whores are playing with fire.

"...I don't understand how they can ignore history with people. These politicians MSM whores are playing with fire...." Yes, they are playing with fire...yesterday on the Dianne Reem Show an author named Dave Sirota was discussing his new book "The Uprising". A modern day analysis by a progressive about what is going down right now. He was very articulate and clear. He had some very dire warnings about what will happen if things do not change in Washington after November. I am going to buy the book this week.

Karen has always loved David S. since he showed up on Al Franken's show when it was broadcast on the Sundance Channel.

The interview yesterday made me feel so good. That some of my own thoughts
    are not insane.

I can no longer be shocked by bush after nearly 8 years or it. After his latest comment in Japan where he said, "Goodbye from the world's largest polluter," all I can do is observe him without feeling any outrage or anger. He's just sorta there.
  • Indigo · 1 year ago
That was a classic drunken frat boy remark. Apparently not only is Bush unrepentent, he is fully aware of the extent of his trespass against our nation. Impeachmeht is not enough! We need to try him for treason. HIs own words convict him.
  • firebrand · 1 year ago
Agreed....impeachment is not enough. I favor convicting the bastard for treason, murder and war crimes Condi and Cheney too.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Bush (smirking, as ever): Yeah, I'm a dick; ya got a problem with that?
  • DickCheney · 1 year ago
I would recommend we give Haliburton a no-bid, cost plus 10 contract to manage social security.
  • firebrand · 1 year ago
Hey Dick..... Nancy Pelosi sends her love and kisses to ya . She''ll be glad to make all your wishes come true.
  • DickCheney · 1 year ago
    she's got our asses covered!
  • firebrand · 1 year ago
You betcha!!! And Karl Rove thanks her for that.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
I can already see a Haliburton subsidiary running medicare/medicaid in this country.

VA's all over the country will be using Korean war surplus medical kits... supplied by some teenager in California who buys the stuff in bulk and sells it to the government.

nah, that could never happen here...

wait a minute, did someone say something about WWII surplus munitions in Iraq?
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
Oh yes,, yes and more yes. Let McCain keep hitting the SS issue. It may strike a cord with the younger voters BUT it sure as hell is going to piss off the Seniors of both parties. Now if I am not mistaken, younger voters have enthusiasm but come time to pull the lever they are no shows whereas the older voters show up most all the time.,

Let McCain shout SS reform from the roof tops for all I care. Too bad the GD main stream media does not report this guy's lies and rants, if more voters knew what he was saying the election would be lost already.
  • munjoyfan · 1 year ago
Well Dear Reader, if Bush had succeeded in privatizing Social Security a couple of years ago, do you know how much smaller your retirement account would be right now? And that's with top notch professional advice. If you were trying to manage your own account, it would likely be MUCH smaller.

  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
well... first they gotta cut your medicare. then you won't have to worry about social security, for long anyway.

    see how GOP policy works?

Dramatic pictures of Chinese, er (giggle!) Iranian missiles fer sure...the one exploding shortly after launch was awesome as was the dusky quality of the lighting...very Cecil B. deCIA.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
In McCain world like Bush world, "reform" means "privatize."
    ---

    privatize = outsource.

hey, if we can outsource half (or more) of the industrial jobs in the US... and they want to outsource SS... can't we just skip ahead and outsource political jobs?

it seems like that's where we're heading. Congress, located in Bangalore.

why not? foreign powers own everything else in this country.

We need 15 town hall meetings with McCriminal and Obama. Obama can just stand there and let this dickweed go off. He does not have a clue about how anything works. He has been on the government tit his whole life but wants to prohibit us from collecting the money we invested in social security over the past 40 years. McCriminal, this is like property tax. My kids are grown up but I truly don't mind paying for education in my property tax for those who have school age children. Someone did it for mine and so it goes. There is nothing very complicated about the process. I would however be glad to hear how he plans on putting back the BILLIONS that have been borrowed from Social Security and never repaid.
  • Soundboy_jeff_meanie · 1 year ago
he's probably hiring the same people who bankrupted San Diego to work on that problem.

DO YOU STILL THINK THE RICH AREN'T PAYING ENOUGH? (Neil Boortz)

In a few weeks, the IRS is going to release its latest data on who pays how much in taxes. But an article in the Wall Street Journal gives us a sneak peak on what we can expect. According to the Treasury Department, perhaps for the first time ever, the richest 1% of taxpayers will have paid more than 40% of the income tax burden. Do you remember when we had Dennis Kucinich on the Boortz Show (audio) and I asked him what percentage of the tax burden do the top 1% of taxpayers pay? His answer was something like 15%. Not even close. I then asked him how much of total income the top 1% earned .. and he came back with the asinine figure of around 60%. In short (pun intended) he didn't have a clue. The actual answer was around 17.5%.
Again .. who are these people in the top tax bracket? Two-thirds of them are small business owners. Small business owners who provide 70% of existing jobs and 80% of all new jobs in our economy. These are the people Barack wants to nail with more taxes. Come on folks, liberal or conservative, black or white --- does this make any sense? Are you really going to go vote for someone just because he is the same color as you when it could well mean your job?
Do you get upset when I start talking about income redistribution? Get used to it. I think that income is earned. Democrats like Obama think that income is distributed. Obama's solution? Redistribution. The Tax Foundation reports that Obama's tax plan would transfer $131 billion from the top 1% of taxpayers – who are already paying 40% of the load – to all other taxpayers. Either you have to admit that this is wholly unfair, or admit that you are just plain flat envious of those who have accomplished more than you.
Do you want a peek behind the eyebrows of these evil people in the top 1%? Fine, here's what they're thinking. If Obama tries to raise their taxes – and that includes not renewing Bush's tax cuts – they are simply going to change their economic behavior. They are going to send some of their money into tax shelters, they're going to shift income to future years, they're going to reduce their workload and enjoy life a bit more. They will end up paying less, not more, in income taxes. Many of them will simply shift the burden of the higher taxes by passing the cost down the line --- down the line to the people who buy what they have to sell or who consume their services. Taxes, like that other stuff, roll downhill. You're going to see the cost of your next visit to the orthodontist or the next bill from your landscaping company go up ... and you'll never have a clue that you're actually paying for Obama's tax increases. Get smart folks. This is going to cost you a lot more than it will cost those nasty rich people you despise so much.
More figures? I know this is uncomfortable for those of you gunched up with wealth envy, but let's explore the top 50% of taxpayers. They will account for 97% of all federal income taxes. And when it comes to the bottom 50% ... those people that Barack Obama wants to transfer your money to ... they paid just 3%. When you get to the bottom 45% of income earners you reach the magic number of 0.0%.
What do you think now, Barack Obama? Are the evil rich still not paying their fair share, considering they are already shouldering 40% of the tax burden in this country? Economist Glenn Hubbard of Columbia University points out that in 1970, the highest tax rate was 70%. At that time, the top 1% of income earners shouldered 16.7% of the income tax burden. Now that the rate is at 35%, they shoulder about 40% of the burden.
But you Barack Obama supporters .... "Yeah, I am voting for Barack because he is going to tax the evil rich. They need to pay their fair share." .... The fact is that his Robin Hood scheme has proven that it won't work. But it sounds really good on the campaign trail, doesn't it?
  • lynchie · 1 year ago
Funny when you cut the taxes to the rich none of that flows downhill. the trickle down never seems to happen. I don't care if the top 1% pay 40% of the taxes. They earn most of the money. I don't know where your numbers come from since you did not link to anything that will allow fact checking. It is about the middle and poor having enough money to pay for food and necessities not how much the rich make. I am sick and tired of you republicans making excuses for the rich. How about you trying to live on $7 or $8 an hour, and try to survive. However, like your darling McCriminal who has 7 or 8 homes how much is enough. If I follow you logic you want the people making $15K or $20K to pay the same percentage of tax. Horseshit. that is what is wrong with the supposed flat tax. Let's say the rate is 15% a guy making $20K pays $3K a disproportionate amount compared to his take home. The rich can afford to pay more, they have tax accountants and have ways of getting to all the write offs. In terms of business that is totally unrelated to the average middle class income earner. Stick to the facts, you fuckers don't want to pay your share as simple as that.

Let's get Americans killed by falsely creating excuses for an unecessary war and then hide their deaths so the American people don't see the consequences of the most murderous and incompetent president America has had to suffer. The needless death of thousands of Americans and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilians is the direct result disastrous Republican politics. And the Republicans take the abominable actions of stopping the American people from seeing American families mourning and honoring the loss of their deserving loved ones. I hate the Republicans in the Bush administration because they do things like this. I absolutely hate them.
