AMERICAblog: McCain lied about Palin's "energy expertise"

  • curlytoes79 · 1 year ago
I've noticed that I'm starting to suffer from Palin-fatigue. I've been following her closely since her selection, and there's an MSNBC special on her right now and I just can't watch. She's getting over-exposed and hopefully people will get sick of her soon. Once the shine wears off, maybe more people will notice that she's all novelty and falsely inflated resume--and no substance.

curlytoes 79: PALIN - FATIGUE or THE BIG LIE ??????????

Give credit where credit is due. PALIN is a well practiced LIAR and all of the evidence proves exactly that'. The TAIL HAS BEEN PINNED ON THE ELEPAHNT !!!!!
  • Apphouse50 · 1 year ago
So here's my question: when does this start to bite them in the ass? What form do the consequences take (and I don't mean on election day, either)? Do media outlets start refusing their ads? Is that feasible? Do 527s start telling Obama, "Fuck this high road, baby, this is about more than you"?

So far what I see is some journalism, at long last, drowned out in the shrillness, playing only to the already-converted.

...when what I wanna see is some "blood" spilled here, not slaps on the wrist and token condemnations of those mean McCainyites.

At this sad stage in his life, probably suffering from a recurrence of cancer (he hasn't released his medical records, right?) or some other degenerative disease of old age, along with gradually failing faculties, he is in no position to exercise any independent judgment. McCain says what's put in front of him.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
RonNYC: Absolutely Correct , but what percentage of the American electorate realize this very sad state of the Republican candidate? What conclusion can be reached by those bizzare polling numbers? Somethin very wrong is afoot and it better be clarified before long or else we are in for BUSH III and its horrendous consequences.

PLENTY MORE PAIN WITH JOHN McSAME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  • munjoyfan · 1 year ago
Dear John: I've been at work all day, outdoors and away from computers. I am stunned by the NYT headlines. WE are in a 1929 situation. This must be our priority concern right now.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Stunned... read this guys' take on what's been going on and will probably happen going forward... If he's even half right, the financial collapse will make 1929 look like a mild recession...

and as the article below suggested would be the likely outcome of this weekend, Lehman's is filing for bankruptcy protection tonight.
  • scottinsf · 1 year ago
It's going to be a wild ride for Wall Street tomorrow.

Wow! Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch in one day. Poof!

I'm starting to think we may just see AIG and WaMu gone by the end of the week.

Have any of you seen this new ad from DFA? It's brutal, and it's on the air in battleground states. So, far I have heard from people in NM, MO, NJ who have seen this on TV today. McLiar is not gonna be happy!

  • jason1965 · 1 year ago
I thought Brave New Pac put this on the air, not DFA?
  • JennieB · 1 year ago
I thought so too, initially, but it's listed as a DFA ad. Brave New Pac did do the the 4 minute video of this guy so maybe DFA worked with them to edit it down to 30 sec and put it on the air. ?

Listen to a story. There's person raised by a single parent. This person grew up in a multi-national environment within his own home. This person attend some of the nations top colleges including Harvard and became president of the Law review. This person turned down Million to become a neighborhood organizer for one the most poor neighborhoods in their state. This person became a State Senator to help change policies they would help the less fortunate. Then they became a US Senator to help fight coruption and raise standards in Washington. This person has inspiried million to get involved and take back their country. This person was against the Iraq War and vowed to end the war responsibly and carefully. This person wants to began the process for energy indenpdence. This person wants to create new job and rebuild the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA'S infrastructure. This persons wants to secure our borders. This person wants to change our trade agreements to help us and not reward companies that ship jobs overseas. If this person is 100 %WHITE AMERICAN will you vote for them???What about 80%??What about 60%?? What about 50%??
  • bronco214 · 1 year ago
Yep, she's an expert on energy. She knows how hard a wolf has to run in deep snow in order to duck a bullet fired from a plane.

"McCain again lied, or was so out of touch, so confused, that he has no idea what he's talking about anymore."

Can we all please stop putting "or" after we call McCain on his lies?

He's may be confused, he may be out of touch, but he knows DAMN WELL that he's lying.

    PERIOD.
  • jimfromthefoothills · 1 year ago
fucking liars. I hope we start to see a backlash this week. Perhaps mcfuckup has peaked too early.
  • 123akennedy · 1 year ago
I'm getting used to the lies from the McSame campaign. Problem is that neither he, nor she understand energy, and McSame is claiming that Palin is an expert, while he yells "Drill, Drill, Drill" Now for the biggest problem, the American public thinks that drilling just might be the way to get out of this oil crisis. Now for some real facts we only have 3% of the worlds reserves, but we use 25% of that reserve. Now where is our portion located. Not off the Atlantic coast or the Pacific Coast except for some small pockets that already are known. The majority is in the Gulf of Mexico. No Problem, except for some nat gas off of Fla coast. and some off ANWR , Enough to supply the U>S> for about 6 months. So whats the big deal with drilling off shore, besides finding an offshore rig would be a real problem because 75%of the worlds off shore drilling fleet is already under contract to develope the 70 billion barrel discovery of the coast of Brizil that will take at least the next 20 or so years. Good luck finding your drilling rigs Mr. McCain. If you really want to drill for oil whill we are transitioning to alturnatives, we beter be thinking about the oil shales of the states of C., Wy., and Utah where there are 1.5 trillion, yes I said Trillion with a T barrels oi oil enough to make the good old U. S. of A. become an oil exporting country instead of sending $700,000,000,000.00 every year, as T. Boone Pickens says, over seas to countries that don't like us very much. This is still not the answer, byt as he likes to say , it would be a bridge, while we developed the advanced technologies of the future that would replace our carbon based economy. And believe me McSame does not have the vision to lead this country to that future. Obama Does, so this country beter wake up and wake up soon because time is running out.

Yeah they may also want to ask the energy expert why a village in her town is not able to afford power. Kind of sad when my state can pay out in energy rebates $1200 to every resident last week but can't pay the fuel oil costs for the village.

    see here http://www.ktuu.com/global/story.asp?s=8598912

    and here http://alaskareal.blogspot.com/2008/09/alaskan-...
  • akmtnbum · 1 year ago
oops I meant a village in her state.
  • falloch · 1 year ago
This 20-second ad practically writes itself : cue John McCain interview quote that Caribou B. knows more about energy, etc., then Palin quote about AK supplying 20 per cent, then Factcheck rebuttal, then Senator McCain needs to learn more about both energy ANDhis vice-presidential candidate. No sexism - just facts.

T Boone Pickens latest ads on TV proclaim that USA uses 25% of the world's oil but has only 3% of its reserves.

Why does he not point out that USA has only 3% of the world's population, so it should not need any more than what it has under its own soil?

It is not the world's problem that USA used to have more oil than Saudi Arabia, but decided to just burn it all.

What are you Americans bitching about?
When you run out of your own oil you can freeze in the dark and die.
It would make the world a much better place.

    Thanks for listening.

Now Chaarliee, of course I have a good
understanding of issues related to Energy
and the Economy, from my backyard you
can see both a gas station and a bank.
  • bluestockton · 1 year ago
I saw The Divine Sarah greeting well-wishers in Alaska with "The road to energy independence runs through Alaska!" -- as if the state has as much oil as Saudi Arabia. If 70-80% of the people of Alaska approve of the job she's doing, it's only because of the royalty checks.

THE BIGGEST LIE and ALSO THE GREATEST FARCE

John McSame must be going out of his mind in telling us that Sarah, (QUEEN OF EARMARKS) Palin knows more about energy and hence national security than anyone else in the United States. HOW STUPID IS THAT? CAN HE POSSIBLY BE OF SOUND MIND to make such an absurd statement and think anyone would believe it? Take this man away and the Queen of Earmarks with him.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
FALSE & BIASED POLLING or a REALLY STUPID PUBLIC?????

The evidence is now overwhelming regarding the total incomptency of John McCain and the serious lack of character of Sarah ( Give Alaskans our oil money ) Palin, the biggest liar since Bush/Cheney.

MORE OF THE SAME WITH McSAME / PALIN!!!!!!!!!!
