McStain staff furiously checking to see if rape victim was an independent/swing voter...

Seems like water-testing time to me. 300K is a lot of money...well, a drop in the bucket for Obama, but A LOT of money for the McCain campaign. Better off waiting and seeing how much outrage the story generates. If it happens to be a lot of outrage, it gives Williams a few extra months to mea culpa and then lay low and hope the controversy goes away.

I limited my outrage on this story because I'd no idea whether or not Williams ever expressed true regret for his statement and made attempts over the past 18 years to make amends. I kinda doubted it, what with him being a Republican and all, but even those dolts should get the benefit of the doubt, no matter who much they try to deny it for others. But this sort of subterfuge makes me believe he hasn't changed, and McCain should really accept that he's gotta let that money go.

I remember very clearly that "joke" from the 60s...and as a rape victim, I truly hate that SOB, extending it to McBush, who absolutely has no ethics when it comes to women. He probably used the "joke" himself, as he was seen as something of a cocksman in his heyday. I very distinctly remember guys like him, who I wouldn't let touch me with a 10 ft. pole.

May THEY rot in hell, too, and I hope that if those "independent" women voters have any sense of responsibility at all, they'll tell McBush to go straight to hell. I suspect, though, that many of them are like Michelle Bernard, who calls herself an "independent" woman but who pushes the likes of McBush and don't mind the abuse they take from men, as long as it suits their rightwing ideology in other areas.

As a candidate, Williams had an unparalleled gift for putting his foot in his mouth. He claimed he'd handle drug users by "teachin' 'em the joys of bustin' rocks," only to be busted himself when it came to light that when his own son was convicted on a drug charge, Pop intervened to get him into a treatment program instead of a prison.

He also reminisced aloud about the halcyon days of his own youth when he was an enthusiastic patron of Mexican whorehouses. As Molly Ivins noted, this was guaranteed to tee off Texas's Hispanics, who didn't like being reminded that Texas Anglos think of Mexico as one giant Mustang Ranch.

Of course, some Hillary supporters seem OK with all of this.

They don't even seem bothered by McCain saying Chelsea is the offspring of Janet Reno and Hillary; or McCain not batting an eye when somebody asked him "how do we beat the bitch."

But ask Hillary a tough question in a debate and, well, that's crossing the line.

I guess "misogyny" is selective to these people..

In response to such revelations, Hillaryis44.org bitter enders with fingers stuck in ears: "Nah-nah-nah. We can't hear you..."

Keep in mind that the GOP has been raping the nation for quite some time now. Rape is what they do, these are the people with the "might makes right" mentality, after all.

Thus seems like a good place to point out Dubya's grandfather, Preston Bush, did business with Nazi's up until the Trading with the Enemy Act or some such caught up with him.
    ...yes my friends.....
Just another example of McBush3 showing himself as the slimebucket he is.

But Hillary's supporters think McCain will be better for them than Obama. Who can even take them seriously anymore? Who wants to "reach out" to them??
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
True, they're a small minority of the Hillary supporters..

At this point, I'm thinking, let McCain have them, but make sure he has to publicly kiss their asses.

They won't add many votes, but they'll probably alienate the Repub base even more than they're already alienated from McCain.

Looks like when McCain or his staff answer a question....the reporter then has to reword the question and present it a different way to McCain or his staff.

McBush and The Decider have the same Texas trash buddies. Admitted whore monger, Clayton Williams, and "Great Whore" Hagee are just a few of the Texas nuts that landed in McCain's fertile soil after falling from the seedy Bush.
  • Mikki --SE Pennsylvania · 1 year ago
    Yes sir! TEXAS TRASH !!
  • katiec · 1 year ago
Cannot believe these so called Hillary supporters backing McCain.
    Where are their heads??
McCain has voted against practically every bill promoting womens
    rights.
Think they are republicans trying, unsucessfully, to pretend they are
Democrats, as no true Democrat would support McCains policies.
  • bluestockton · 1 year ago
Granted, McSame may not win over any Hillary supporters. The danger is, will they decide instead to cast a protest vote for Nader or Barr, or not vote for president at all? Thank goodness Obama seems to be picking up the support of more and more women.

Wow. That's the same joke that cost Tex Antoine his career.

I gotta wonder why so many people find that funny.
