McCain's ad was just on MSNBC a bit ago....saying Obama wants sex education for your child in kindergarten......what a disgusting ad.

Glad I had read this earlier:

    Obama responds: 'Downright perverse'

Obama's camp hits back hard at a new McCain ad criticizing his support, in the Illinois State Legislature, for sex ed beginning in kindergarten:

“It is shameful and downright perverse for the McCain campaign to use a bill that was written to protect young children from sexual predators as a recycled and discredited political attack against a father of two young girls – a position that his friend Mitt Romney also holds.

Sarah Palin has the most annoying voice in the universe EVER! Her whiny, shrill, nasal, cackle is going to drive me crazy. Listening to Bush for ten minutes is less painful than listening to her for two. Four years of her? No way.
  • mf_roe · 1 year ago
You would think someone as egotistical as her would get a good voice coach. But I'm sure she thinks it is part of her charm. She sounds like an airhead character on SNL.

Perhaps my memory is fading, but didn't someone refer to Palin...during the RNC. . .as a pit bull with lipstick? Or something of that nature? Or was it Palin herself who referred to herself as a dog?
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Palin herself, said "You know what the difference between a pitbull and a hockey mom? Lipstick." to thunderous applause...
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
You know what's sad? If Obama or Biden had said something like that, "the only difference between a pitbull and a hockey mom is lipstick", they would have be crucified for calling her a DOG...

  • Outraged2 · 1 year ago
No, now let's keep it straight here. Palin is the smelly fish, seeing as how they're illegally using "Barracuda" every time she shows up somewhere, so I guess then McCain must be the dolled up pig! Yeah, that's it, Palin's a stinky old fish and McCain's lipstick wearing pig! No, no, no, the lipstick wearing pig is Rudy Giuliani! Oh, these nasty old Repugs have me so confused!
  • catdance · 1 year ago
Yeah, Palin's the fish. Given his history of cheating on his wife and screwing anything that would lie still long enough, McCain must be the pig.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
Yeah, but the picture they show of her holding a fish while saying her nickname is Barracuda isn't a barracuda, but a salmon. So they are full of bull as apparently the great fisherman, Sarah Palin, doesn't know the difference between a barracuda and a salmon. There are no barracuda in Alaskan waters as it is a tropical, warm water fish. Salmon are sometimes seen in S. California waters when very cold currents bring them down from farther north.

I am already sick and tired of this crap and there are 50 some odd days to go. I BLAME the media for all this back and forth crap. They NEED to get off their lazy and kool aid asses and tell the American people what we need to know, OF COURSE THAT WOULDN'T SELL so we will be subjected to daily bickering.

All the press and media have to do is report the TRUTH and let the chips fall where they may. How the hell can the media be buying this "reform/ maverick" act. For god's sake, the man has been in Congress over 26 years, the last 8 with his head up Bush's ass. Even minimal intelligence would ask the question, "Why haven't your reform Washington in the last 26 years. Minimal intelligence would ask "What have you done in the past 8 years to reform Washington"

Obama asked "Do they think we are stupid?" The answer, a resounding YES.
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
They're not "buying" anything, they are "producing" what they are paid to produce.

Indictment: Heather Wilson's Office Tied to Abramoff
    By Zachary Roth - September 9, 2008, 1:15PM
The Abramoff corruption probe has already snared one GOP Congressman, Bob Ney, and implicated a few more, most prominently Rep. John Doolittle of California. But could there be another to add to the list: Rep. Heather Wilson of New Mexico?

As far as animals go, pigs are pretty smart. It's an insult to pigs that anyone would compare a Republican to one of those cuddly-snouted critters.

Manufactured OUTRAGE! How dare they??? (Say the Rs as they point their fingers at the Dems while hiding their trashy lies behind their backs).

Anyway... I'll bet Gov. Swift's 9 and 7 year old kids understand metaphor better than their mom or the McCain camp. My pastor once said that religious fundamentalists are metaphorically challenged (in re their understanding of the Bible); obviously this challenge bit extends to Republicans and folksy sayings as well.

I'm not talkng about Sarah Palin for the next 24 hours. It has to start somewhere. Somebody has to shut this beotch down. She is consuming too much bandwidth
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
MSNBC's on it as well.... here's the Obama campaign's statement to them:
Former Massachusetts Gov. Jane Swift, Chair of the newly found Palin Truth Squad, argued on a conference call sponsored by the campaign that Obama clearly directed the comment toward Palin. "It is clear to me, as I am sure it will be to fair minded Republicans, Democrats, and Independents across the country that Sen. Obama owes Gov Palin an apology," Swift said. Palin spokeswoman Maria Comella later added, “Barack Obama’s comments today are offensive and disgraceful. He owes Governor Palin an apology.”

But when you read Obama's quote above, it's pretty clear that the "lipstick" remark wasn't directed to Palin at all. And the Obama campaign fired back at what it called McCain's "increasingly dishonorable campaign."

“Enough is enough. The McCain campaign’s attack tonight is a pathetic attempt to play the gender card about the use of a common analogy -- the same analogy that Sen. McCain himself used about Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s health care plan just last year," said Obama senior adviser Anita Dunn. "This phony lecture on gender sensitivity is the height of cynicism and lays bare the increasingly dishonorable campaign John McCain has chosen to run.”
  • Wild_Weasel · 1 year ago
About FIVE WEEKS before early ballots are going to be cast.

I don't know about you, but I don't want a Vice President who is a heart beat away from being President, who can't even meet the American press and address her apparent LIES.

Oh, Jane Swift. I remember her. Let's see if I can get the factoids right :

She was Lt. Governor for Paul Celluci. (sa LOO chee) Did I spell him correctly?

Celluci left to become Ambassador to .... Quebec? Montreal? Nova Scotia? ROFL! Somewhere up there ...

Jane became "acting" Governor and caused a mini-scandal because she took a State plane home, a couple of times, from Boston to North Adams (?), which is about the furthest North and West you can go in Massachusetts.

She attempted a legitimate run for Governor, but the State Republican party threw her under the bus when Mittens showed up and needed the job to begin the onward march of his ambition to become President.

Jane repaired, with her tail between her legs, to North Adams and was promptly forgotten.

Now she's re-appeared as the National Chair of the Sarah Palin Truth Squad.

I would never have believed it.

I gotta tell ya...I'm starting to worry about the mentality of people in this country. When you ask Repubs just WHAT it is they like about Palin, I hear stuff like..."she hunts, she fishes, she shops at Wal-mart just like regular moms, and she's REAL." "She could've had an abortion but gave birth to a DS baby anyway." "She comes from a small town & understands small town values" But when you ask them what policies she supports that they approve of, all I get is, "she wants drilling & she's against abortion". THAT'S IT!!! With all thats facing this country after 8yrs under Bush, the fact that she bring NOTHING to the table other than a beauty queen smile, the ability to read a prepared speech & a questionable record as mayor/govenor (which somehow qualifies her to potentially lead our nation). Since the RNC, she's made a few campaign stops with McCain, where she's trotted out to make a 15min version of the speech she already gave at the RNC (complete with the same lies I might add) then MCain takes over and repeats HIS same lies about Obama raising their taxes and these people cheer like the sheep they are. Of course, when the camera pans the crowd, you see mostly older white men & women (the kind that don't use the internet to check the facts & get most of their information from Fox/Fix news & Bill O'Reilly.) Don't believe me?

    Check this out: http://foxattacks.com/

We are being cheated people. Cheated out our 1 chance to REALLY make a difference in our children's lives. McCain talks about change then turns around and hires Steve Schmidt to head his campaign. The same man who ran Bush's campaign in '00. The same man who was behind the smear campaign AGAINST MCCAIN in SC by suggesting his adopted black daughter was really his illegitimate love child!!! Does that matter to McShame? HELL NO!!! Its all about winning now and ALL the stops are being pulled out. Lets face it, at his age (72) this is his last shot at the Oval office and he's going to do EVERYTHING to acheive his goal. Even run the kind of negative campaign he swore he wouldn't. Even if it means using Karl Rove behind the scenes. After all, "Bush's Brain" did such a great job beating him before, didn't he???

Matter of fact, I think its time to take this criminal out of the equation don't you?!?

Wake up people...Our country needs you to make the right choice! Eight is Enough!!!!!!
  • fedupinflorida · 1 year ago
I can't believe how fast this campaign has gotten dirty!!! Now all the news media outlets can talk about is a "pig comment"!!! Its amazing to me that when McBlame says the SAME comment in regards to Hillary's health care proposal NO ONE accused him of calling her a pig. But of course, NOW when OBAMA says the same comment, he's accused of calling Palin a pig. YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!!!!!!!!! Is this actually the behavior of rational mature adults or are we back in jr. high school? I just watched FOX/fix news and they're actually implying that YES Obama meant to call her a pig while they convienently ommitted McShame's same comment about Hillary. Now, that doesn't surprise me at all of course since everyone knows how slanted they are to RepubliCONs. But now every other media outlet is hopping on the same bandwagon. Lets be fair people! It seems to me we should have one rule. If Obama was calling Palin a pig, then McCain was calling Hillary Clinton one. If McCain wasn't, then Obama wasn't. End of story. Focus on the friggin' issues and leave this childish crap on the playground!!

As Al Franken might say, Jane Swift "is a big fat idiot." Ask anyone, including people in her own party here in Massachusetts, and you'll hear the same thing. That this fool is able to get her mug on national television is astounding. She was a major embarrassment to this state in her sorry time as Governor Light. If this is the GOP's best and brightest, what is the MSM doing by putting her out there to speak on anything other than grocery shopping? What a sickening spectacle this campaign has become thanks to McCain, who will trade on his POWness ad nauseam, and toadies like Swift, desperate to get a political life.

I've heard enough of this lunacy. If this is what our elections have come down to - where debate on the issues is avoided like the plague - and the media and the public in general rewards the offending parties like the mccain camp - I guess we deserve inept presidents like Bush and McCain. I personally deserve better and I believe our country does too. Since when has it been disgraceful to get a good education at an Ivy league school, be a success in life? I can't believe this alternate reality!!!
  • prdidopooh · 1 year ago
Gov Swift might want to check with her fourth grader on how a "metaphor" works; here, let me lay it out. A metaphor is a figure of speech where you say "x" is "y" - it's a little important to leave the metaphor in context so you know what your antecedent (X) is. So, Gov Swift, and all of those who apparently use "truth" as a euphemism for something else, if you're talking about policy, and you say it is a "pig in lipstick" or an "old fish", then policy= fish or pig - get it?? Maybe Obama's style is just a little too intelligent for you??

TRUTH ABOUT AMERICANS, OBAMA, & THE DEMOCRATS.
    ______________________________

Well, it’s official! American fast food makes us fat & it kills our brain cells, too.

The whole world is cringing over idiot McSame.
Do we have to force another idiot on ourselves, the world? Wake up America!

Britain's Gordon Brown has praised Sen. Barack Obama in a commentary published Wednesday, seemingly breaching protocols that prevent world leaders from endorsing candidates in foreign elections.
"In the electrifying U.S. presidential campaign, it is the Democrats who are generating the ideas to help people through more difficult times," Brown wrote in Parliamentary Monitor magazine.

BEFORE the McSame Camp starts whining -AGAIN- about being offended:

Brown broke protocol with this but McBush defied the United Nations when he got us and the Brits into this nasty wrongheaded Iraq occupation. They’ve stuck with us long enough, during this ridiculous Iraq fiasco, that they should be able to say whatever the hell they want this election year.

GO OBAMA/BIDEN Vote for responsible change! Vote for a better America!

    FOR ALL AMERICAN WORKERS
    FOR AMERICAN ENERGY INDEPENDENCE
    FOR REBUILDING AMERICA’S INFRASTRUCTURE

I am a McCain supporter who agrees that the 'pig calling' is a bogus reach for outrage and a distraction. McCain's camp needs to pick its battles better.

In truth there are two candidates in this race whose celebrity and curb appeal outweigh their apparent qualifications and that started with Obama whose novelty has garnered a wave of unearned but loyal support from the "he got me at hello' fans who shun any and all questions about their guys lack of credentials, his associations, and his degree of left tilt.

If a celebrity fight is a must, then I'm glad we have a dog (or pig) in that fight but I truly wish we could get to substance. In a substance only contest, this country would reject any avowed left leaning, rubber stamp for the most dismal congress brought by the circus of personalities placing politics before country.
