AMERICAblog: McCain on Letterman says Sarah Palin is ready to lead America through the next 9/11

  • JustKevin · 1 year ago
Hell to the No! She cant name 1 newspaper she's read and she's ready to lead the country through another 9/11 attack? is he fucking nuts? HELL NO!
  • ShirleyGoodnessanMercy · 1 year ago
Letterman was a wimp. He should have been far harder with McCain. He should have had the courage to call him on his bullshit.

Instead he just held a silly bullshitfest.

If I were McCain and I won the election, the first thing I would do is hire a food taster.

And I'd make damn sure that my chef was a member of the reality-based community.

It would be too easy for religious crazies to engineer an assassination of a sick old man that looked like death by natural causes.
  • mikecoatl · 1 year ago
He should hire hard-core liberals as chefs AND security. I would want to follow the old son of a bitch around with a defibrilator! Things would get worse with McCain, but with Palin we would be finished!

OT David Gregory tonight just can't accept that Obama did better than his BFF John McCain at the debate last night. Gregory keeps pressing everyone who is on his show, wanting them to say McCain was the winner. Gregory just will not give up til someone tells him that McCain has a chance in hell of becoming POTUS in November. God help us. Gregory is such a tool.

What really sends wind up my skirt is how stupid McCain must think Americans are.

Earth to everybody: What we need is a president who prevents the "next 9/11 attack."

    Jesus, Mary, and Ralph!
  • RainbowPhoenix · 1 year ago
    Exactly.
  • mikecoatl · 1 year ago
That should be a line in an Obama ad.
  • grandma · 1 year ago
Chuck Todd on MSNBC a while back said about 1/3 of VP's have become President....the odds would have to be pretty high given McCain's age that that is exactly what will happen.

and she was his first choice??...what a liar .....

Both of them are unfit to lead the country.

I just got a call from the RNC which links Obama with Ayers, bombing a judges house, the Pentagon and links him to terrorism. It also claims that Acorn is a subversive group and Obama is a key organizer for them. They discuss the voter fraud and go on at length. I tried to engage the voice in conversation but it was a pre taped message, did not identify who the group was and where I might reach them.

Anyone else have this happen today. Pretty scary especially after McCain claimed he was innocent of all charges of bigotry and bias. What a lying bastard.

lynchie, what state in you in?

My mom received a similar phone call today. We are both in Ohio.

She said it was a recorded phone call. She said it was from the McCain campaign, but it might have been the RNC. The call said she deserved to know the truth about Obama and said he hangs around with terrorists.

She wrote down the number on the caller ID. She said something back, something about how she wasn't interested in their garbage, I think, but it was a recorded call.

I'm in Virginia and I received a fancy looking DVD in mail
with a picture of a scary looking Islamic man on the cover. It was totally unsolicited, from "The Clarion Fund," and looks to be a movie on the dangers of extreme Islamic terrorists... very theatrical, but effective to drum up fear against Mr. B. Hussein Obama, who once lived in terrorist-prone Muslim Indonesia
    with a Muslim step-dad.
It's funny because I have Iranian friends and they are the nicest people. I have nothing against Muslims or Mid-East cultural history. The Iranians, Pakistanis, etc., that I know are top-notch friends and live in the west... They are down on some things in their govt. in terms of how citizens are treated, civil liberties, etc. for dissenters, but they just love their families in Tehran as much as any good WASP in Virginia!!!
Still, it was so invasive to get this propagandistic,
ignorance -ueling DVD in my personal mailbox!!!
What is The Clarion Fund, a 527?
  • Outspoken1 · 1 year ago
Here in Colorado (Denver area), we received that inflammatory DVD about two months ago - it came in our Sunday newspaper. Caused quite a stir out here in Progressive radio land. The DVD is full of scary music, fuzzy video with a narrator conveniently telling the viewer how the Muslims and terrorists are planning to take over the world and institute Islam and all Christians need to rise up and fight this menace. Very good fodder for those looking for this cr*p.

This DVD is sent to people in swing states. I have not confirmed this, but a friend told me they heard the RNC was paying for the distribution of this. Sure glad the Republicans are talking honestly about the issues!

The Clarion Fund is a pro-Israel, non-profit outfit that is officially (wink-wink) non-partisan. They're starting to catch a lot of flak - the FEC may investigate them over the DVD. I'm not too worried. Terrorism isn't what people are thinking about, except maybe terrorism of the economic variety.

You got robo-called; you weren't supposed to engage in conversation. That's like "democracy".In the Palin-McCain Fascist Theocracy, you do as the voices tell you to do...
  • Nancy_Beth · 1 year ago
Sarah Palin couldn't lead America through a 7-11.
  • mmedefarge · 1 year ago
good one! Too bad Letterman didn't say that....
  • mikecoatl · 1 year ago
Awesome! Maybe you should work for Letterman!
  • cheetos · 1 year ago
And Donald Trump told Blitzer he trusts Palin with our economy. The world has gone mad.
  • mmedefarge · 1 year ago
I wouldn't trust mcbankrupt with ANYTHING. He is truly odious. I actually watched that show of his for a full season because I was so fascinated that these young people with everything going for them would stoop so low. It was like doing anthropological field work.

    Hey, this is interesting.

MLB pushes back World Series Game 6 by 8 minutes
    http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-worlds...

Obama bought 30 minutes of air time on NBC, CBS, and Fox for Oct. 29. Fox and the MLB are pushing back the time of a potential Game 6 so Obama's air time can run.

I don't know if this has been mentioned - I haven't had time to go through all the comments yet.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
Fox isn't blue or red, it's green. Murdoch will whore himself out to any john with the right amount of jack. (Although it is a pleasure to think of the dittohead baseball fan pacing the floor for half an hour, waiting for the Secret Muslim to be over).
  • iWoman · 1 year ago
Ha. Yeah - I certainly didn't think it was because they supported Obama! The article says they would be willing to do the same for McCain (although, could he afford it?). I just think it's interesting because I've never heard of such a thing before, pushing back a ball game so a *30-minute* political ad/commercial/not-sure-what-they're-calling-it can air!
  • mikecoatl · 1 year ago
Ross Perot and Bob Dole did similar buys back in the 90's. Don't think either of them managed to move THE WORLD SERIES, though.
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
"I screwed up." McCain must have said that dozens of times at the Naval Academy, and each and every time, McNasty, the legacy punk, was let off the hook. That's been his MO ever since. Letterman should have said: "You didn't screw up, Senator. You flat out lied to me and my audience. Why should we trust you on anything?"
  • princessprism · 1 year ago
    OMG... he said

Mr. McCain then talked about the economic downturn and described the anger many people feel and the hardships many families are experiencing. “They’re the victims of a drive-by shooting by Washington and Wall Street,” he said.

HMMMM... nothing like fueling the flames. Mentioning drive by shootings when you are accusing your opponent of being in bed with Wall Street (or at least those hotties Frannie and Freddy) and an integral part of the Washington terrorists (oops Democrats) is dangerous territory indeed, my friend!
  • KarenMrsLloydRichards · 1 year ago
You know those drive-by shootings in all those ACORN neighborhoods, the kind of places where Sammy Davis Jr. learned to tap dance so well.
  • Bush_Bites · 1 year ago
    How would McCain know?

He's not ready to lead the country through the next 9/11 either.
  • TheAngryFag · 1 year ago
Ye gods is he stupid and senile.
  • urizon · 1 year ago
Actually, what we need is no more 9/11s. When the next one happens -- god forbid -- we can kiss goodbye the last vestiges of our Potemkin democracy.

Maybe we should pause and consider why our enemies despise us so. Of course, that would mean American exceptionalism might just be a crock of shit . . . .
  • ThingsComeUndone · 1 year ago
Sarah will lead us to another 9/11 .
  • scytherius · 1 year ago
Ya know, had he picked ANYONE else he might actually stand a shot in this election. Not much of one, but a shot. But this woman is an absolute and unmitigated disaster. I know some pretty extreme conservatives and they are voting for Obama, or not at all, because their fear of Sarah Palin in the Presidency extreme.
  • TheoSuch · 1 year ago
I wondered about this question, thinking that perhaps Letterman was making a subtle dig at George Bush. After all, on 9/11, the Vice President ran the country while Bush read THE PET GOAT and flew around and around the country.
