AMERICAblog: McCain permits press to observe Palin meeting with Colombian president, for a whole 15 to 20 seconds, then kicks them out

  • lucky hussein · 1 year ago
Columbia, figures. The one country now in south america still on board with our imperialst policies and promotion of reich-wing tyrannical thugs that do what we want at any price to thier people.

This is perfect. There is revolt by the press simmering just below the surface, and they will turn on McCain in a real way. I can feel it.
  • brb915 · 1 year ago
..........this could even turn into a debate question.....

Guv Palin, you've been sequestered, some say Intentionally, by your campaign and other handlers: what is the underlying reason for all this secrecy, and if you claim media bias, then why just two interviews, one with ABC, where you exhibited a disturbing lack of issue clarity, and one with FOX, where Mr. Hannity softballed you practically to the point of asking for your favorite member of the Partridge Famly?
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
Wow! That was quick. Last I heard Palin's handlers were making nice. Wonder what she said in 20 seconds or less that got the media booted AGAIN

  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
Hmm, just long enough to get the photo op of Palin and Karzi smiling at each other. Can't wait for the next McCain ad showing Palin with "foreign experience". No one needs to know it was only 20 seconds of experience.
  • MikeinSanJo · 1 year ago
CNN doesn't have to release the footage. They can withhold it as the next step in the "Press Revolt". Seems that would be the next step to prove they actually have balls.

    They won't, of course...

    but they could.

This is a distraction from the real issue at hand, the economy. I refuse to watch this bullsh_t.
  • John Aravosis · 1 year ago
Educating the media about how they're being duped, and hopefully influencing them to give McCain even harsher coverage, is not a distraction. It's understanding how to win. And as Democrats, we don't usually understand how to play the game. It's not only by focusing on the big shiny issue of the day. Sometimes it's by paying attention to the refs and the game itself.

PBS online poll regarding whether Palin is qualified to be Veep:

    Currently, yes by 50%

I would give anything to be a fly on the wall when these guys get together over cocktails later and discuss Palin. It must be a hoot. There are members of the housekeeping staff at the UN who know more about international relations than Moose Slut does.

O/T John Im really concerned about this Paulson planned bail out My thoughts are that this is the final nail in the coffin to bankrupt this country. And give these neocons even more of our treasury to steal. I have contacted my Worthless Senators but Im not sure that as weak as the Dems are that they will include oversight in this awful plan. Where is the outrage from the citizens of this country,I would love to hit the streets with pitchfork in hand but It would be a very lonely walk.

i'm concerned that obama is going to go along with it and undermine his own credibility as a reformer.
  • devlzadvocate · 1 year ago
Two years from now during the next election, we will be looking back at this with Republicans blaming the Democratic majority for voting for ANOTHER BAD BILL. Isn't that the way is always works. I think it is a set-up.

Last time a Bush was in power they used banking deregulation (S&L's) to fund the CIA:

This time on a huge scale. There will be many, many crooks who will be just fine, thank you. All insiders.

It's not Palin, it is McCain himself. He has virtually cut out the major big league reporters. Here is a good article from Political detailing McCain's withdrawal.

Where's she gonna get the funds to bring pork to all Americans?

So I just saw the 20 seconds of Palin with President Karzai, giggling and touching her chest flirtatiously, on CNN! And no mention of the issues from earlier today. WHY DO THEY DO THIS???? People that know what is going on can see right through this, and it seriously undermines their credibility. I've almost stopped watching CNN. It is disgraceful and non-journalistic. As a doctor, we take an oath. Shouldn't journalists, protecting one of our most cherished, explicit freedoms in the Constitution, do the same?
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
Yeah, but do we hear the MSM talking about it?

And we thought Bush was the most secretive president ever....
The media better wake up now. The people have a right to know these people - unfiltered by the McCain campaign’s sieve of disinformation and outright lies.
But I am sure Hannity will be more than happy to spread any untruth the McCain camp puts out there for him.

Think Progress notes that in Ohio today, John McCain shuffled past journalists to his bus without answering any questions, prompting one to yell, "Has your bus become the No Talk Express?"

Palin goes speed dating at the UN and tomorrow the ads will say she has met with more world leaders than Obama. You cannot become versed in foreign affairs with a one day photo op but they are going to try to sell it. We need to demand a press conference before her debate for a little Q&A that is more than a kiss-ass and tell.
  • martha · 1 year ago
It was smart of Obama to have a press conference. He really sounded like he understood the crisis - in stark contrast to McCain and Palin who won't answer questions from the press.
  • devlzadvocate · 1 year ago
Tomorrow she will be out there saying she was "negotiating" with foreign leaders representing the Palin/McCain ticket to bring jobs to our ailing economy. Mark my words.

I just bet that Caribou Barbie took her autograph book with her to each "meeting".
  • devlzadvocate · 1 year ago
Maybe the meetings were just really short because the leaders she met with just couldn't tolerate that voice! It could have been a matter of "29 seconds of that banshee girl voice is all one can take. Get out!"

Do you know how much fodder The McCain Camp is making for SNL? This is reckless on their part, but SNL is going to carve them up every Saturday. Tina Fey hates playing this woman. This is not only petty, it is just plain sad coming from the McCain Camp. Childish...
