AMERICAblog: McCain rally: Liberals hate America

  • sherifffruitfly · 1 year ago
Time for another "I apologize if anyone misunderstood my remarks" non-apology.
  • davespicer · 1 year ago
Not exactly, but the "make sure we don't say something we don't mean" quote is hilarious:

The speed of the internet, and certainly sites like this John, will change the face of politics forever. The politics of hate and fear are in their last days.
  • Bostonian_Queer_in_Dallas · 1 year ago
Totally right, blackwolf, and clearly stated. It is over. This election may well turn out a landslide. Early voting lines in Dallas are huge and the voters going in are young and hip looking (meaningless but there nevertheless). I think Obama has been bloody brilliant in his ground work campaign style. McSame is old school and they just don't get it anymore. As Guttenburg allowed the common man to read, the internet has changed it all.
  • blackwolf · 1 year ago
That's great to hear. I'm hearing that folks are voting early all over the place for the Dems. Obama has been brilliant, and it's because he understands the world as it is---now! I love it when the racists say, "Yeah, I hate the "N", but I'll vote for him anyhow."....lol. Now that's encouraging to me. Boston, I think we're finally reaching that point where homophobia, racism, classism, and sexism are luxuries Americans can no longer really afford.

Man, these are good times, inspite of all the bad times:)

blackwolf...as you and I sorta know each other personally, as it were via
email, I want to tell you how I am proud of how far we have come,
ostensibly, seeing where he is in the polls and post debate etc etc. It's
not over yet. But this changes everything...at least as a national image. I
began to well up with tears today as I left the small library on the
outskirts of Dallas, after voting. I began to think that perhaps all that
struggle we had in the late sixties may be paying off finally after many
years of feeling like it was all for naught. I thought back to the racism in
my home as a child and how I confronted family (the GI Generation) about how
Dr King told us to judge by a person's character and not the color, or
ethnicity. I began to flash my whole life in front of my face of the grainy
black and white news footage of water cannons and horses during race riots.
Of the Stonewall riots. Maybe the time has finally come. Come for anyone who
is different. For anyone who does not fit the mold of white, male, straight,
rich, Protestant. God Bless us now. Maybe. God speed to Obama. And God help
us if he is not wearing Kevlar.

Larry Kissell can take this and run with it.

I love instant replays...and all the recorded for posterity stuff! Gotcha, Hayes, you sorry POS.

I am really tired of the GOP telling me how I feel about America whether I love it or not. It makes sense to me that they are the ones to hate America, since under their watch they have almost destroyed it.

On Hardball, Mathews was steamed about how the rethuglicans have been attacking Obama, using words like Celebrity, socialist, communist, etc., and how nasty they are. I agree. Everyday they come out with some crap, and hope something sticks.

Mathews showed a clip of Palin showing her ignorance about what a VP really does. She said the VP is in charge of the senate!!!

Dumb Sarah. Ignorant Sarah. She Bush Sarah.

It has worked so well for them until this "series of tubes" thingy has caught on.

OT: Pollster.com has moved more states into the tossup category. Obama has only 286 "safe" electoral votes today, when just last week he had 333. I think some of this "socialist" shit is sticking.

Here is a poll that might lift your spirits.

that's just FL and OH. they have always been iffy. Nate Silver is keeping them "lean Dem". FL will snap back. Hillary campaigned in Tampa and Orlando yesterday with Obama. And the congressional races are moving toward the Dems (see Joe's post on Taddeo earlier today).

Kos keeps talking about humiliating them....and, it seems, they're doing it to themselves (as predicted).

    I love the internets.

More Palin corruption: AP reports that investigation says Palin charged AK for traveling expenses for her kids (who weren't invited to the events) and later changed expense reports to have them included.

She may not want to go back to Alaska after the AK legislature gets through with her.

I am proud to wear the label LIBERAL. If it were not for us, very little good in the world would exist. And frankly, we should get a turn now. The conservatives have really fucked it up this time.
  • KerrynowCampau · 1 year ago
Ah, but conservatives don't see what liberals do as "good".

Women and people of color being equal to the almighty white man!!

I would be willing to put all conservatives into a time machine back to the gilded age, where I am sure they will be more comfortable.

ferrr chris-sake will somebody bring some got'damn criminal charges up on this wack-job called palin??

    ---------------------------------------------------------
    Alaska funded Palin kids' travel

The charges included costs for hotel and commercial flights for three daughters to join Palin to watch their father in a snowmobile race, and a trip to New York, where the governor attended a five-hour conference and stayed with 17-year-old Bristol for five days and four nights in a luxury hotel.

In all, Palin has charged the state $21,012 for her three daughters' 64 one-way and 12 round-trip commercial flights since she took office in December 2006. In some other cases, she has charged the state for hotel rooms for the girls.

Republicans have massively turned into Brownshirt- wearing, Fascist thugs: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jeff-dorchen/obam...

They can't win on ideas, so they try violence and intimidation as though that makes their point of view correct (I was going to say 'right', but that takes on a whole other meaning). They're still wrong and they've criminally abused someone. They don't believe in society or the American Way.

Authorities in Fayetteville, NC said that someone slashed tires on at least 30 parked vehicles Sunday while their owners were attending an Obama/Biden rally at Fayetteville's Coliseum. A sheriff's spokesman said there are no suspects.

    My letter to Robin Hayes

    Representative Robin Hayes
    United States House of Representatives
    130 Cannon House Office Building
    Washington, DC 20515

    Dear Congressman Hayes:

While I no longer live in North Carolina I was born and raised there, and am proud of that heritage. My mother and siblings still live there, and I love returning home. However, the hatred I have heard you spew recently at a political rally has tarnished my home state, and is an insult to Tarheels everywhere.

You stated, “Folks, there’s a real America. Liberals hate real Americans that work and achieve and believe in God.” And then you made it all the worse by lying about making the comment. Do you not know that most political rallies get recorded?

Let me be clear about this. I am not ashamed to wear the designation of “liberal.” Quite frankly, most of the best things America has accomplished have been “liberal” programs. As a member of the Republican Party, you sir have no moral authority to question the patriotism, hard work and beliefs of any other American.

I have worked hard and accomplished much. While in North Carolina I served on two legislatively mandated committees and provided testimony on the public records law to the North Carolina Legislature. I have volunteered extensively for several AIDS support groups in North Carolina, and volunteered regularly at the homeless shelter in Winston-Salem. I have received the highest awards of my industry. I have a home, a job, friends and family. I am a life-long active Methodist who believes in God, and I believe in the New Testament message of loving all people…not spreading hate and fomenting divisiveness. I even teach Sunday School, but I’ll bet you rarely even attend church.

Mr. Hayes, you are in no position make a judgment about my character, and I resent the aspersions you have cast on over half the people in this country. I for one have had enough, and I demand that you issue a public apology and resign immediately from the United States House of Representatives. This great country can no longer survive if it continues to aid and abet people such as you.

If you so love God, then I call to your attention his words in Micah 6:8, “He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.” I call on you to live by these words. You, Mr. Hayes, have disparaged people you do not know, and then lied about it. You no longer have the moral authority to be a leader in this Country.

As Atrios would say, "the stupid...it burns!" Why do we put up with people who say shit , it gets filmed, and then they say "I never said that!" Please, for the love of God, can we not begin to attack the press for ignoring these morons' arguments to the obvious opposite of reality? What does it take?
  • RMM · 8 months ago
Both parties contain members who are not admirable, especially the DEMOCRATS. As for the LEFT WING DOLTS who insulted and trashed Governor Sarah Palin, YOU CAN STICK YOUR INVECTIVE WHERE THE SUN DOES NOT SHINE. Yeah, Liberalism is definitely a mental disorder.
