AMERICAblog: McCain running negative ads juxtaposing Obama and the nutjob leading Iran

Well McCains people are real idiots because if many preconditions were ever met Obama would eventualy meet with Ali Khamenei, the Supreme leader not Amachdinijad. They are playing to the lowest common denomitator and it wont work this time if we keep on calling them out .

I noticed that add several days ago. However, since McSame is such a scumbag bottom feeder, it didn't surprise me one iota. What a pathetic excuse for a political party - the GOP knows only fear and propaganda - its all they have.

They are sending an email around with Obama is Muslim theme again. They call him Barry Hussein Obama and show clips of Rev Wright and Michelle taken out of context and add in a still picture of Obama at the Jefferson Jackson Steak Fry during the National Anthem (implying it was the Pledtge of Allegiance, of course) without his hand on his heart. They are total tools who actually think people are going to ignore $4 gas, all the job losses and McCain's hard on for war with Iran because of a bunch of crap that has nothing to do with reality, their lives or anything Obama has ever personally said or did. As gas goes up, I have a feeling the GOP may be stroking themselves cuz regular people have a hell of a lot more to fear than a bunch of silly rumors and a middle name and childhood nick name.

From DrudgeReport.com : "Hillary spent $109,823 per delegate..."
UNBELIEVABLE! The Clintons have got to be the most selfish, wasteful sleaze in history.

Somebody tell Atrios. I tried, but I still see those odious ads all over the Eschaton. I even see one on this page, below the comments. Is there any way to get rid of them? Alternately, is there any way we can maximize profit for the site while denying the McCain campaign any material support?
For instance, if we were to click-through the ad, does that put money in your pocket? Inquiring minds want to know.
Update: I just clicked the ad. It just goes to the McCain campaign's signup page. I clicked all the buttons and put in some bogus data (Name: Heywood Jablome) just to pad his database. Everybody else should go do this right now.

There should be TV ads linking McCain, Bush and the infamous torture silhouette- you know, that guy standing on a box covered with a sheet and electrodes. McCain backed down on the torture issue.
RenoAnne

I'd love to see a commercial which starts with one of Grandpa's anti-American propaganda videos he made for the Vietnamese, then a voice saying "clearly, torture elicits false information, so why does this man now support it?"

I love that!

There is nothing unfair with the ad since Obama has said that he would meet with Iranian leaders. However, I would very well countenance an ad from Obama with a red faced McCain and a few choice quotes from his lost temper. Then I would show a mushroom cloud with the caption - "KNOWING MCCAIN'S TEMPER, WOULD YOU WANT HIS FINGER ON THE TRIGGER.'

LOL Just for the hell of it, I clicked YES on the ad below. You are directed to the McCain web site and asked for a donation. Looks like a poll question but is really a donation site.

I've seen the ad many times recently on this site. As a matter of fact, while I write this, there are 3 of them on this page !!! 1 at top of page 1 above comment box 1 below comments
The SAME AD. Notice how the background is BLACK, Obama's face is slightly darkened and they used a pleading photo of Iranian president.
Wonder how much money McSame's camp is paying per click???? Should we all start hitting the ads and make them pay MORE????
hahahahah

McSame doesn't know a Sunni from a Shia because he cannot remember his lines. He only remembers that Al-Qaeda is Al-CIAda who transfers the blame to radical Islam or muslims for all of these wars. The islamic-fascist that one of his surrogates indicated he was in search of are the ones that are working for Al-CIAda, i.e., the terrorists groups that we have been funding via non-profits, etc. to fuel the bloody civil wars in our history. If he doesn't have Lieberman beside him, he gets confused. It is rumored that Ahmadinijad is one of those islamic-fascist-nazis that the Zionist Regimes have infiltrated Iran with. We have a history of forced regime changes in Iran since1953 via infiltration and coups. It's all about the oil people

Now on the comments page, there is a McSame ad showing him after he was released from Vietnam I believe in a blue shirt saluting. GAG...he still looks old in this photo but not as Ancient as he does now.
Too funny that the ads keep showing up on this blog since he doesn't have any support over here !!

How about an ad with Cindy McCain:
Is it OK to steal drugs from your company for your own use?
jwhit
He probably got the picture courtesy of Clinton. As long as her campaign is only "suspended", we are in trouble. Most of her supporters and other websites have a very different opinion on what she is doing. It is still lingering out there that if she cannot take Obama down to steal the nomination that she will still run as an independent which is why she is not releasing her delegates. In addition, Dick Morris confirmed that their attorney has hired additional private investigators to get the dirt on Obama. I know some do not like Dick Morris but he was the only one in January who was on FAUX NEWS predicting that the Clintons were going to use the race card on Obama.

Anything about Iran tricking Bush, Cheney and McCain into attacking Iran's arch enemy, Iraq?
I thought not.

I am uneasy. The public enjoys and often repeats smear tactics. Intelligent commentary does not recognize or know how to work with that level of intelligence. The first campaign I followed carefully was in middle school, then called junior high school, when Adlai Stevenson ran against Dwight D. Eisenhower. Adlai Stevenson was said to be the most intelligent man who ever ran for the presidency. All anybody ever said about Eisenhower was the rhyme, "I like Ike." And look what happened.

McCain's strategy is to have "someone" run a really negative ad and then denouce it (tepidly). That way he has the best of both worlds.

That's what he is and will do and each time we have to counter it with: If McBush can't manage his own campaign, how can we expect he will be able to manage the country.

Obama certainly shouldn't meet with Ahmadinejad, but not for any of McSame's reasons; rather, because it would be pointless. The Iranian is a noisy figurehead whom the clerics who really rule Iran find useful, but they give him no real power. In American tems, Ayatollah Khameini is Richard Nixon, and Ahmadinejad is Spiro Agnew. Or, Khameini is Edgar Bergen and Ahmadinejad is Charlie McCarthy.
jwhit
If the American people would only realize that he is a nutjob and has no real power in Iran, we would be better off. The leaders and the people of Iran have their own problems with him and Obama has stressed that he doesn't have any power over the military or anything else in Iran. The public is being tricked into believing that this man can declare war and to be afraid. I would bet everything I own that he is working for us in order to justify the invasion that they plan. Bush is traveling soon and the topic will be War with Iran. Wesley Clark admitted last year that while he was a general the US already had 7 wars pre-planned.

Ahmadinejad is there because the clerics recognize, correctly, that while they're good at telling women they should all wear black from head to toe in 100+ degree heat, they suck at actually running the country. Thus, they need a prime minister to make sure the trains run on time and all that.
Of course, what the Republicans are really crapping their pants over is the idea that Barack Obama could go to Tehran and actually accomplish what he says might be possible. That would put the Republicans in the bus leagues on foreign affairs and national security for at least a generation.

I can't get too upset at the ad; if you're given the task of illustrating in 50x150 pixels the idea that Obama wants to "unconditionally" meet with "anti-american" leaders like Ahmadinejad -- a key talking point of McCain's campaign -- what would you show?
I think they actually showed a little restraint by not showing Obama and Ahmadinejad in matching suit-jacket-over-collared-shirt-with-no-tie outfits; remember when the Drudge forces were pushing that nonsense a few months ago?

The wife U.S. Republican John McCain callously left behind.... Found this nice write up on Carol McCain, McBush's first wife.
IsraelNN.com) Prime Minister Ehud Olmert hinted after his meeting with U.S. President George W. Bush Wednesday that U.S. action against Iran is imminent. While he avoided saying anything clear and specific on the matter, Olmert did mention a "timetable" and said action would take place before Bush leaves the White House.
"We reached agreement on the need to take care of the Iranian threat," Olmert said after the meeting.
Just an observation: I notice they use the phrase, "Is it OK". This is a code phrase for 20 - 40 year old soccer moms/security moms, or whatever they are calling them today. I noticed they all used it when my kids were in school. And it creeped me out. I never heard this when I was young, and asking friends my age, I found they never heard it either. But when my kids were at school events, or soccer games, etc., ALL the mothers said it: "Johnny, it's not OK to hit Tommy in the face." The GOP is really trying to woo this demography.

here's your linky-linky to Ms. McDrug-addicts story:
Holy shit -- when I clicked to comment on this story, guess which banner ad was featured at the top of this page?? It's creepy how McCain ads infest sites like this. I would click on "Yes" but it won't make an actual difference.
Anyhoo... it seems to have taken McCain about 3 seconds to start playing dirty.

How about Obama run some ads with side-by-side "separated at birth" shots of McCain and Lawrence Harvey in The Manchurian Candidate? Maybe with litte Red Queens in the background.

Most Hillary supporters need to understand that it was the GOP that destroyed Hillary from the very beginning. The GOP with Rove leaked press stories and information to drive up Hillary’s negatives even before she announced her candidacy. The GOP thought she would be the Democratic nominee and needed to destroy her reputation and define her image. That is why the initial press was so aligned against Hillary initially.

we need to run Carol McCain ads "Is it okay to leave your wife after she's disfigured in an accident?"
and nutjob, Ahmadinejad. If he's a Nutjob what the hell are virtually all of your politicians?

All that needs be done in America is get Leno/Limbaugh/Cheney/whoever to call someone a 'nutjob', and presto!
I suppose Bush is a political genius? Last time I checked, Mr. Ahmandinejad hadn't wiped out a million people in Iraq.
When Iran actually did kill Iraqis, it was during a war begun by the latter, conducted by America's (then) pal Saddam, a war fpartially financed and supplied materially and tactically by guess who? Oh, and America supplied the poison gas, too.
It was also America that meddled (for oil) in Iran in 1953, deposed the Prime Minister, and installed that benevolent Shah who did so much good.
Nut job? Look in the mirror, America. But be careful- it's a scary sight.
