AMERICAblog: McCain supporter questions whether Obama "loves his country"

  • DeppFan · 1 year ago
...Inhofe issued a written statement on Friday to clarify his earlier comments.
"Let me be clear,'' he said. "I am not questioning Sen. Obama's patriotism, but you have to question why at times he seems so obviously opposed to public displays of patriotism and national pride, like wearing an American flag lapel pin.''

I can't believe they're still talking about a goddamn pin! They're playing to the lowest, jug-eared, inbred asshole in the country, who might find his way to a voting booth on election day and remember Inhofe's asinine talk about a flag pin.

    Beam me the fuck up.
  • houstonray · 1 year ago
You know, with that headline you have, I thought it was a supporter like at a rally or something. I didn't realize until I read it that it was freakin Inhofe...what a douchebag (pardon me ladies).

The flag pin? How about we inundate his voicemail box and email box at his Senate offices with comments that JOHN MCCAIN DID NOT WEAR A FUCKING FLAG PIN DURING HIS ACCEPTANCE SPEECH.

OH DEAR LORD IN HEAVEN, I'm going to go INSANE by November...
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
The real proof that McCain doesn't love this country is that he never once wore a flag pin on his lapel for the 5 1/2 years he was a prisoner of war in the Hanoi HIlton. What's the matter? Was he ashamed to wear the flag lapel pin? A coward? Afraid the N. Vietnamese wouldn't like it? Where was his love of country, his heroism, his courage, his loyalty and his patriotism? If he didn't wear a flag pin then when it really counted, it is proof he isn't fit to be president of this nation as we never know when the chips are down when he will turn coward and sell us out to save his own ass.

HOUSTONRAY, You are 100% correct. Great idea. Let's inundate this prick's inbox with the fact that McCain wore NO FLAG PIN during his acceptance speech.

McCain is clearly NOT comfortable with public displays of patriotism, Mr. Inhofe.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
I agree but I think Obama just hit a better argument against McCain. How does McCain intend to cleanse the lobbyists from Washington when he has some mega lobbyists working on his campaign. Is he going to get rid of them right now or just when? McCain's strategy for change is going down the tubes when everyone understands he is just more of the samd and employing lobbyists or former lobbyists is "more of the same."

    Notwithstanding the inexperienced VP selection,

why should voters pick a GOP candidate to fix the problems promelgated by a GOP President and GOP Senate and GOP House of Represenatives over most of the last seven and one-half years

particularly when that GOP candidate was part of the problem in the Senate, not part of the solution.

I just saw an article where McCain was referred to as a FIGHTER PILOT...wasn't his aircraft rigged for bombing runs..and he was shot down dropping ordnance from high altitude?

Big difference....fighter pilot....one on one combat....or blowing the crap out of faceless civilian victims down below...sort of what they are doing in Afghanistan and Pakistan these days.

    Just saying.

    Not very heroic.
  • mf_roe · 1 year ago
McShame didn't have the skills to fly a fighter. He flew attack (bomber) planes. He really didn't have the skills needed but his Admiral father pulled strings. It was supposed to build his military record so he could advance in the Navy. Just like Bush, daddy pulls the strings idiot child fucks it up. Tired of sequels.

If Palin loved her country she'd take press questions...
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
More and more; it appears that McCain and Palin are the "teflon" candidates. Obama seems to be just sinking into the "goo". Has the Obama campaign silenced Biden? Maybe he's undergoing "grasshopper" training in Nepal?
  • lilyannerose · 1 year ago
Teflon or not, the wild cheers that Palin is being met with just makes me scratch my head. Is it safe to assume that those cheering Palin are the same minority supporters of Georgie Boy? I can never quite grasp this segment of America that embraces this concept that you fail on one level you are entitled to pass go and fail on the next upward rung of the ladder. WTF is wrong with Americans? How can so many just give this Palin upstart such a free pass into the White House. Are they so stupid that they think ANYONE is qualified to sit behind the desk in the Oval Office? I'm fighting not to get physically sick over this Bull.
  • mf_roe · 1 year ago
But ask these same assholes what they think about affirmative action and see how adamant they are about qualifications.
  • Mister_E · 1 year ago
From what I have been hearing from McCain/Palin supporters calling in the talk shows on the radio, really convinces me that those people that are standing up for Palin, are really out of their freaking minds and just don't give a crap about the real issues. All I hear is that they are all "in love" with Sarah Palin ,and that they support her just because she is a woman, that she is attractive ,and that she is a staunch conservative and that she is against gays and abortion They never question her qualifications ,or ,her experience, like they do with Obama.
  • Busboy · 1 year ago
A lot of the buzz is the "fresh face syndrome". A lot of the rancor is from the pro-abortion crowd. Almost every major jurist agrees that abortion is a "state's rights" issue. America isn't going to change that much; no matter who is elected...

This blog has tons of crazy stuff on Palin… http://liz-seattlespeak.blogspot.com
Like 50 thousand dollars spent on CARPET during renovations on the governor’s mansion
    http://www.gov.state.ak.us/omb/09_omb/budget/Ad...

    ...wow awesome
  • NealB · 1 year ago
Indeed. They are the scourge and must be cast into the fires.

Obama and Biden will need now to dispense with all the niceties and fight as if winning were more important. Not in their nature from what I've seen so far, but hopefully they'll use the time while Palin is boning up to do a little retooling themselves.
  • Mister_E · 1 year ago
The Republicans have been questioning Obama's patriotism ,practically since day one of the campaign. They constantly bring up the fact that Obama never served in the military, but,McCain is this great war hero. Then they refer to Michelle Obama's statement where she said that for the first time in her life she is proud to be an American. Then there's the B.S. that Obama is supports the terrorists and that he wouldn't take proper action if the US is ever threatened. This just goes to show you what scumbags these republicans really are.

And why aren't Americans asking questions like- why is it a superpatriot like you, Senator McCain selling out an American aerospace manufacturer like Boeing for a European aerospace company? How many Airbus lobbiest were working on your campaign again? Why do you hate America so much you sell out its workers, it's future and it's national security. What happens McCain when Europe doesn't like a war we are in and does to us what we did to Iran and stops selling us parts to fly those tankers that keep our airforce in the air? Don't worry, I know you hate war except all the ones Bush started, you love those. And why would a superpatriot like you, McCain pick a woman to be your VP whose husband was a card carrying member of the "hate America first crowd" so much that he wanted seceed from the Union? So much for all those democrats who threatened to move to Canada. I guess they would have loved America more if they'd just tried to get their state to revolt and form their own country. EXPOSE THE FARCE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD! For once get some fing balls and stop leaning over and taking it or we will be right back where we were election day 2000. It is already smelling that way, the counterattacks are so weak. Blast the propaganda out of the water. I went to get my nails done today and I listed to a woman say that "Obama's name just gave her a bad taste in her mouth and she could never vote for someone whose name sounded like Osama" and then informed us that he really was a muslim and the media was just pretending he was a Christian. If you don't control the message with reality, we will end up with President McCain and Assemlies of God Pentacostal extremist Palin one step away from controlling the rights of every woman in this country. And I know intimately because my husband is the blacksheep in a family that most are in the AOG church and they hate blacks, gays, jews and think woman should be controlled like a Taliban wife. Unless you are doing God's work to force the country to live under their belief system and they do think they have a right to force their beliefs on you. Fun times for all if this woman gets complete control of the Supreme Court.

It's wrong to say John McCain is a hero. History is replete with people who do heroic things, only to degrade themselves later on, losing their once-heroic status. John McCain WAS a hero, when he refused to be sent home ahead of other prisoners of war. He is no longer a hero, when he demonstrates that HE does not love his country by repeatedly engaging in and supporting jingoistic, divisive and dishonest calumny. He is no longer a hero when he stands by none of the supposed principles he had repeatedly espoused. He is, instead, a man who squandered the moral promise he had in his young years.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
As usual, given the villainy of the Republicans, the reverse is true. McCain doesn't love this country. He blames us for abandoning him to suffer torture in the Viet Cong prison for 5 1/2 years. It isn't Obama but McCain who hates this nation.
  • carollt · 1 year ago
This tactic of questioning patriotism is a tried and true tactic of the Republican party. The trouble is that is has worked in the past.

These Republicans actually believe that if you do not believe as they do, you are not patriotic. I work with a right-winger who has told me on more than one occasion that I should leave the country because I do not like the way things are.

Hate radio also questions the patriotisim of anyone who does not believe as they do. The religious right (I call them false christians because they do not follow many of the teachings of Jesus) also likes to imply that if you do not believe as they do, you are going to hell.

There is one spot of good news here in Maine. The Hate Radio station went to an all sports format last week. Goodbye Sean Hannity; I won't miss you now that you are gone.

I think the Democrats are right to focus on the issues that mean so much to most of us. I am hopeful that the electorate will not be fooled into voting for the candidate who only has hate for the other side on his side. There is no vision for our country; just more of the same divisiveness which has been with us for too long.

One heartbeat away from the presidency? No, one heart ATTACK away from the presidency (forget McCain's 96-year-old mom, his father died at 70 of a heart attack and his grandfather at 63). When that sinks in to the public consciousness, it wouldn't surprise me if she decided to step down to "spend more time with her family" within the next few weeks.
  • ron071 · 1 year ago
Izzy: Thanks for your revelation of a very significant fact which I've wondered about ever since the half-truth about long-lived mother Roberta has been advertised by the deceitful McSame campaign.

    WANT MORE LIES and COVER-UPS????VOTE McSAME/PALIN !!!!!!!!!
