Joe the bomb-the Plumber "turned the whole thing around." Hmm-kay. Why not make Joe the Veep, then? Sad, pathetic, old relic undone by a vicious, amoral, stupid campaign. It's time for the Maverick to get shipped off to the glue factory. And while we're at it:

"Sarah... we no longer want to hit that. Get off MILF Island!"

(all hail Tina Fey and '30 Rock'!)

A psychologist could have a field day with this guy's freudian slips. First, my fellow prisoners, now, Joe the bomber. What's going on inside McCain's head? Does he think he's still a North Vietnamese POW and the American people are the enemy? And yeah, he's a fighter all right; just what we need to lead us out of this mess. But whom are we fighting? Who's the enemy. Fact is, and for the life of me I can't understand why the press gives him a pass on this, McCain is not qualified to be president. He's been in the Senate for decades. Great. That allows you to jerk off in public. He's never had a leadership role. Before that, what? A privileged naval brat with an Annapolis officer corps chip on his shoulder. Then he smashed up three expensive military planes, probably while goofing off in the air. Then he got sent to Vietnam, bombed women and children, and got shot down, crashing another plane. Then he collaborates with the enemy, skirting treason. Sure, he was under duress, and we all understand that. But what about any of this qualifies him to be president of the United States? Especially at this time? And speaking about treason, the McCain campaign seems to specialize in it. Palin's husband was a member of a treasonous, secessionist organization, and she's clearly a fellow-traveler. What a pass for the party of Lincoln to come to!

You remember Beavis and Butt Head from the 1990's? There was one episode early on where a BBQ grill fell over the face of this old right wing war vet neighbor that B&B would antagonize. That caused him to start flashing back to being a POW in Vietnam and seeing B&B as the Viet Cong. That incident with "my fellow prisoners" reminded me of that.

Too bad it's not available on YouTube. I so wanted to post that side by side with the McCain clip.

Is that the guy in the headline I just read who was waving a flag and a gun and shutting down a CA highway? Rabid rightwinger at work?

    Just askin...
  • susano · 1 year ago
That guy put up an Obama sign, unfortunately.

Hey! What happened to the guys pants? On that last pic, he's suddenly in his tightie camos.
  • Older_Wiser · 1 year ago
Yes, I just found the story...he's a vet and headed for a mental evaluation...but they did let him put up the sign and flag.
  • icruise · 1 year ago
I somehow doubt that the guy is an Obama supporter.
  • whomod · 1 year ago
The right wingers are cracking up. All those months of Sean Hannity telling them that terrorists and "America-Haters" were taking over America is finally taking it's unsurprising toll.

I'm sure that loyal German's acted out the same way after Berlin fell to the Allies.

    Johnny, are you THAT high?

just wait until later this evening when he's on his Ambien Stump Speech (ASS for short)...this should be fun
  • whomod · 1 year ago
1 more day and i won't have to hear John McCain's tired old stump speech for the 1,000,000th time. Funny how they like to play it in it's entirety every day now and Obama still always gets cut off half way thru.
  • tigergrrldc · 1 year ago
If McCain wins, he will make Bushisms look like MLK speeches!
  • Older_Wiser · 1 year ago
Gawd, I'm sitting on pins and needles now.

    It's nail-biting time, too.
  • whomod · 1 year ago
I'm in L.A. so although I always anticipate some crazed right winger challenging me at the polls on account of my ethnicity, i never do and thus never get the satisfaction of telling one to go f**k himself. :(
  • Kansaskitty · 1 year ago
I'm about sick to my stomach with a bad case of pre-election jitters! Fortunately, I'll be working as an election judge tomorrow so will be tied up at the polling place, and won't have time to get stressed out till it's over. Hopefully, we will already know that Obama is the next president by the time I get home!
  • Kansaskitty · 1 year ago
Can you just imagine all the international crises he would start with his verbal slips if he were president?

Anyone see that speech McCain gave this morning? Can't remember now where he was, but for some reason, he and Cindy were backlit on the stage, and that made her look very scary! The hair looked like an unkempt haystack!
  • yellowdogdem · 1 year ago
Watch the crowds, something the media is not reporting on very much. It was the crowds that kept coming and coming and coming that told Harry Truman during the great 1948 whistle stop campaign that he was going to win regardless of the polls. Obama's drawing the crowds. No one is showing up for McCain. Why should they? He has nothing to offer them. His whole campaign has been I'm not as bad as the other guy. Why should anyone get fired up over that.
  • ianasdfg · 1 year ago
Bomb, Bomb, Bomb - Bomb, Bomb McCain's chances of winning.

The poster child for post-traumatic stress disorder is left hanging without appropriate care. Even his wife doesn't care enough to see to it that he gets proper care. All that money and nobody to care, Isn't that sad?
  • Mark in Florida · 1 year ago
Yes, it is. And it's also sad that someone as dynamic as Obama has to raise a half a billion dollars to combat the outright lies generated by the McCain camp. I wish things were different.
  • foxy · 1 year ago
    OMG he sounds "beat".

Oh my G-d people-----still canvassing-------just happened onto an older Jewish couple-----------no sign in their yard or anything, so I rang the bell-------they are both Obama supporters------their family still resides in Israel------they pointed me to this Youtube link

We need a post about pre-election jitters, I am nervous as hell. Any calming suggestions out there?

Remember we are all McCain's fellow prisoners, so Joe the Bomber is just a prisoner too.

Another McCain Fruedian slip. He does that quite a bit.

Anybody look at "Sarah Palin in the Oval Office" today? It's been updated again. Check the light switch on the wall, and the shredder.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
I just had a very horrible thought. I hope Obama is well protected during the celebration parties tomorrow night and also inauguration night. Given that he will be surrounded by large numbers of unvetted people who can't be frisked and checked with metal detectors, especially at the various inauguration balls, it would be the perfect opportunity to assassinate him. Especially, can have a female suicide bomber wearing a very bulky gown concealing huge amounts of plastic explosives.
  • whomod · 1 year ago
    http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/02/us/politics/0...

"Chicago, it seems, is of two minds about this party. Many supporters in Mr. Obama’s hometown speak with pride of the potential of seeing the first African-American claim victory in a presidential campaign here on the edge of Lake Michigan, in view of their beloved skyline. Still, in hushed tones, some say they are worried about his safety in the public park and about how a huge crowd in this city, which has seen violence after events like basketball championships, might respond, win, lose or draw."

But honestly, don't be so morbid about "suicide bombers" and the like. Especially at "balls". I'd think that an invite only affair such as a ball would include security. it's the outdoor celebration that is sort of dodgy. I'd keep my eye on Gordon Liddy just to be safe though..

I think he was going to say, Joe the bum tax cheat"
  • voicewithin · 1 year ago
McCain and Joe the Plummer have lots in common. The Crapper! McCain is in the crapper and Joe is no where to be found....
  • RitornaVincitor · 1 year ago
A bit of a Freudian slip, since the whole "Joe the Plumber" thing bombed so badly. Joe the Bomber is more accurate. Or perhaps Joe the Bummer.
  • DeanBooth · 1 year ago
For the past few months, McCain has spoken more about Obama than his own policies. I think what happened here is that the long O in Joe led him by habit to start to say Bama. What came out was not "Joe the Bomber," but "Joe the Bama."
