how convenient that he has Cindy, with her separate and never-to-be-released tax returns, as a place to stash all of his potentially problematic business dealings, like investing in Keating's real estate business. I guess it is her money, anyway.

All it will take is one new's person. The others will follow. The problem is no one want's to throw the first punch.

OT: The Senate approved a spending bill that includes funding the war with $70 billion, lifting the ban on off-shore drilling and a ton of money for US automakers. The Democrats suck. After we elect Obama, let's start working for real change by voting EVERY incumbent out of office. They are scum. The vote was 78-17.

I remember 1990. It was still the era of Big Hair, and CNN still had integrity.

Gallup Daily: Obama Holds 5-Point Lead NEW
    September 27, 2008
Barack Obama leads John McCain, 49% to 44%, in the latest Gallup Poll Daily tracking update. This is one of Obama’s best showings since the Republican National Convention, and suggests he had some momentum going into Friday night’s debate.

Hardly at Jed's level but something I noticed yesterday during Bush's late afternoon statement outside the Oval Office:

Can someone explain to me why Obama doesn't bring it up, especially in the debate setting?
  • dad · 1 year ago
    doesn't need it.
he'd rather keep the eyes on the ball.
one of 5. the other four, Ds.
too many recent mcfailures to address.
    memories are short.
    by comparisson, small time.
    why kick a corpse?

McCain would come back with all kinds of outrageous lies and accusations toward Obama about Ayers and Resco ???.....maybe Obama is wiser to leave it to surrogates or media to start bringing it up more.

    Thanks...just voted.

    Obama is ahead now too
  • sukabi1 · 1 year ago
Ok, you can vote as many times as you want... I'm guessing the poll is being hammered by McCain supporters... he's now up by over 50% to Obama's 45% but the "neithers" have been steady at the same # of votes...

So go vote as often as you want to help balance out the freeping of the poll...

Kind of stupid that it lets you vote over and over...

The Arizona Republic did a multi-part profile of McCain in Marcg 2996. 2 of the parts involve Keating and the aftermath. It's an excellent summary.

    http://www.azcentral.com/news/election/mccain/a...

McCain also showed that infamous temper and as he does so often when he's caught, he accused people of lying:

When the story broke, McCain did nothing to help himself.

"You're a liar," McCain said when a Republic reporter asked him about the business relationship between his wife and Keating.

"That's the spouse's involvement, you idiot," McCain said later in the same conversation. "You do understand English, don't you?"

He also belittled reporters when they asked about his wife's ties to Keating.

"It's up to you to find that out, kids."

    The paper ran the story.
