I want to know what really comes first for Sarah Palin -- America or Alaska? Her husband IS a member of the Alaska Independence Party.
  • Lolis · 1 year ago
lol ... so who did pay for the signs?

fascinating how she is the drag on the ticket yet this hardcore segment of Republicans love her.
  • dad · 1 year ago
The other sign handed out to supporters read "Florida is Palin Country," but those signs were neither paid for by the Republican National Committee nor the McCain campaign. In small print, the signs were stamped with the line "Paid for and authorized by Putnam for Congress"-- as in, the re-election campaign of Florida congressman Adam Putnam, whose district skirts Polk City.

Which is exactly why Obama was smart and didn't put Hillary on the ticket. Bill and Hill would have literally taken over like Palin is trying to do with McCain.
  • gallery · 1 year ago
    truer words were never spoken.

Have to give her credit at the moment though.
Hopefully we'll go two terms with Obama, and although younger than McCain, she would be very OLD news by that point.
We need her as a senator right now, after we add some more, maybe a nice cabinet position for her.
  • vkobaya · 1 year ago
Naw! Bill and Hillary would have bounced as they bounced when they tried to win the nomination. No, the danger of Hillary on the ticket would be the embarrassment of always having to have your vice-presidential partner frisked and searched with a metal detector everytime she came within 100 feet of Obama. Unfortunately, unlike Hillary's words, bullets don't bounce off Obama and he is not invulnerable to her bullets ... or bullets from Bill.

Adam Putnam is creepy--always angling into the camera shot when leaders are on C-Span. Viewing the VP slot with mooselady in 2012??

We all know that Palin is in it for herself. There is something admirable about how she is somewhat similar to Obama: young, enthusiastic, a rock star politician, driven and well-liked by her base.

Would angers me the most is that McCain, who used to be a maverick, only turned out to play the politics game, forget who he was and what he stood for, and go for someone who is throwing him in her shadow.

Bad move, John. But when Obama wins on Tuesday, I'll have to send Palin a thank you note.

That woman is for the moment extremely over-rated by a lot of right wingers. No doubt she'll try to run in 2012 but she won't go far. Think Dan Quayle in 2000. Quayle dropped out before the first primary because he couldn't raise any money. Same thing will happen to her - assuming she can win re-election as governor. Her ratings have gone down quite a bit since the summer.

Palin is one strange twist in the story. She seems to be a cult figure as much as a political figure. She completely sucks all the air out of whatever she is involved in. She doesn't play nice with others and it seems like in a party as full of self centered jerks as RepubCo is, they aren't going to all just stand back so Princess Palin can walk in and take the place over. She's not about creating a permanent RepubCo majority as much as she's about creating a Palinocracy.

She's never going to want to be a figurehead. Sarahcuda indeed. RepubCo will have it's hands full dealing with her though a Palin Party may become her vehicle as that would compliment both her obsessive personal, religious and political ambitions. It's gonna be very entertaining to see how she keeps herself front and center from way up north after the election.

We're going to be totally screwed if she somehow becomes V.P. She would put arsenic in McBush's Metamucil. He would need a personal taster with her around.

So I take it that you don't "feel sorry" the Canadian boys punk'd her hard?

    Me neither.

If McCain/Palin actually wins, I see her skulking around the West Wing, jumping out from behind corners yelling 'Boo!' at frequent, random intervals as McCain walks through the White House.
  • burro · 1 year ago
I just ran across this story at Rawstory. Hadn't heard about it. That's great. Sarah should be punked as much as possible.
  • okojo · 1 year ago
I think the "Palin Country" says more about Adam Putnam than it does about McCain/Palin, or it is a shaft to the McCain campaign's top management.

Lawrence O'Donnell had an interesting fact today. No failed VP has ever gone on to run for President in the next election. No failed VP has had much of a political life after the losing. He cited serveal names. In Palin's case he said high up Republican decision makers are not keen on Palin and that alone would prevent her from making a run for Pres in 2012.

Of course, Sarah Palin is one gusty, arrogant woman, she just may accomplish this but seems like she has pissed off too many people that could help her and those they might help her are not in a position to do her any good.
  • aquarius2 · 1 year ago
That should be no losing VP has ever succeeded in a run for the Presidency.

Good grief! Caribou Barbie threw McBush off the ticket!

Oh well, it was bound to happen.
  • Older_Wiser · 1 year ago
Well, at least we know what Palin's "base" is...and it is VERY base...KKK kountry. And Putnam is as ignorant as she is. He really IS the red-headed stepchild.

I'll bet the collective IQ at that gathering wasn't over 89...and we sure as hell don't want those types taking over. Bush and his ignorant, incompetent evangelicals (even the fake ones) running the WH were bad enough. You know, all those Liberty U & Regent U graduates...they are going to leave quite a mess for the Dems to clean up.

I've seen a yard sign a few blocks away from my house in central NC a sign that reads "Sarah Palin - Vice President" - that's all. It's a professionally printed sign, similar to those being used by the McCain campaign.

Putnam (being challenged by retired Navy Master Chief Doug Tudor) has money to spend. McCain, not so much...
