AMERICAblog: McCain's VP: I kinda know people want to hear about issues but I'm just going to attack and smear Obama anyway

I never would have known that "What do you read" and "Why are you qualified" to be "gotcha" questions for a potential President Of The United States.
What's a fair question? Shampoo brand? Favorite breakfast cereal?

What she reads is entirely too demanding a question.

Well, apparently she gets all her quotes off Starbucks cups (reading an actual book might be too difficult with the thousands of magazines she reads) and she even gets those quotes wrong, just ask Madeline Albright (who HELPS women, but doesn't SUPPORT Palin)

That's funny!
She should have been able to name Witchhunter Weekly, sheesh! End-timer Magazine, The Beehive Gazette, Jew-Hater, something

So the woman who's married to a secessionist and who attends secessionist conventions wants to talk about patriotism?

I'm with ya here..................if that's what they want, Obama can keep to the issues at hand, deliver them on a platter to McCain at he debate, and watch the rest of us keep squeezing the Unamerican, Upatriotic, Unsmart, Uncouth, Uncalled for CRAP out of the Undynamic Duo
"You'll just have to have this...it's the smell of success!" *wink* *wink* and it comes with free tupperware.

Republicans are always the victim - even of their own policies. Is it possible to know anyone who whines as much as these people - or anyone who has as much disdain for their country as the GOP?
If there is anything we should be learning from the McCain-Palin cartoon campaign, it is how much the GOP has tried to destroy America. They have worked endlessly to establish a theocracy, to obliterate our leadership in science, to ruin our educational system, to infiltrate and corrupt our courts, our media, and our institutions, to rob the treasury and the taxpayers. And then they campaign like some third grade bully who dropped out of school, calling everyone else names. That is not the mark of the "greatest nation on earth." Do Republicans honestly believe that a great nation would engage in petty, grade-school level lying and namecalling?
Sarah Palin is the symbol of what the GOP has become. . .a party of ignorance, intolerance, fear, and class struggle - all over the last two pieces of silver they sense resting in the pockets of average Americans. They know there is no more wealth to "trickle down" to the American people - they've transferred it to other nations. And when we can no longer afford the good produced by the sweatshops Republicans love in other countries, they'll reduce Americans to tenant farmers whose sole purpose is to feed the rest of the world while the remaining wealthy relax in their tropical estates outside the country.

You summed it quite nicely. That is their ultimate word view. Landowners and serfs.
Last night two republican friends literally said they were going to vote for Miz Palin. I had to walk out of the room...

Save yourself the trouble - disengage from all right wingers - I could never be friends with a right winger as life is too short to be friends with idiots. My first question would be this: What in the world could a right winger offer? His/her opinion? Lies? BS? Insanity?
I have no right wing friends, nor are any welcome. I would rather watch an insane squirrel twirling about in my yard then engage with a right wing facist rat bastard.

Well, the funny thing is another rightwing friend of one the people had a big fight with him about this financial mess and canceled the trip they had planned to Europe because he lost 100's of thousands of dollars in this current mess. So there was a little silver lining to the evening (I take pleasure where I can find it nowadays)

I will admit however that my dentist is a right wing nutcase - but I'll give it to him, he's a hell of a dentist.

What do you have against squirrels? They're very entertaining unless they're rabid. Now wingnuts.... they're rabid...

Cue up that picture of her precious little butterfly flipping the bird to the crowd cowboy.
Hi Karol. Do you think they might have photoshopped that horrible outfit she has on also? There is no excuse for that.

Yes, as a flamboyant friend of mine once said while we watched the parade down Bourbon Street during Southern Decadence, now that's an unfortunate outfit.

LOL! I can see it now.
Back to that hilarious picture though, what do you think is going through the mind of that woman right behind the guy at the microphone? She looks seriously pissed off to be there.
BTW, enjoy your week off Karol. So happy to see you here.

Thing is, she's gotten so cocky and feels she is such a star that she is now bucking some of McCain's positions (Michigan being a case in point). I really think that the MSM should be pushing hard to interview her. She might just figure out a way to do it without McCain's blessing and the results would be fascinating, plus make Tina Fey's job a little easier.

I saw a show today where the host asked a little girl (about 8 or 9) how the basement family room got so messy. Instead of answering like a little girl, she answered by rote probably what she had heard her parents say. That's how I feel about Miz Palin. Off the cuff, she sounds like a little girl -- wondering all over the place, distracted by pretty shiny things; but at the debate, you could tell she was reading from scripted cards that made her sound capable--not smarter--just capable. She's a little girl reading grampa's notes because she hasn't a real thought in her head.
Q : How does human intelligence today compare with that of people 5000 years ago, such as the ancient Egyptians?
A: They were as smart as we are. No noticeable evolution in intelligence has occurred that recently. Scientists say that humans have had modern intelligence for tens of thousands of years. Some say our brainpower goes back even longer.
Since modern life is unimaginably better that it was 5,000 years ago, do we credit our progress to Palins & McCains or Obamas & Bidens?
Let's hope she keeps going off script more and more! (And she's gonna lose if she demonizes Couric, of all people!)

Sarah Palin broke irony and we're going to be spending weeks duct taping it back together. But at least she's on the important issues again: is Obama too black, too Muslim, or does he hate America too much? Or is it all three?
What's a fair question? Shampoo brand? Favorite breakfast cereal?
